Ummmm...you ARE that guy. And you spent time looking for and uploading pictures to illustrate your entirely negative and entirely unneeded post. CONGRATS ON BEING THAT GUY. D*ck.
I think hillandder post is funny and, at the same time, I congratulate Danjo for his achievement. No reason to overreact, dude, life is too short to take it seriously. ;)

It's not funny. It's completely played out. And it's entirely unnecessary. Also, I wouldn't have replied at all apart from the fact that he said he "didn't want to be that guy"...yet...there he was....being "that guy". It WAS a d*ck move. Hardly an "overreaction".
Everybody knows it's much easier to get to Legend these days. It's a fact. Do we need to be reminded of that on a thread like this? I really don't think so.

But it's just a game. :/
Yes, it is. So why sh*t on someone's accomplishment? The OP was obviously proud of the accomplishment...what EXACTLY is the point of posting what hillandder posted? Even in the name of "it's a joke" (which imo, it was not)...it's just lame.

Anyway...I'm done hijacking the thread.
Because my biggest frustration with HearthStone is not be able to reach legend before the new system and now everyone can, I get pretty close one time by two games and now I get legend with meme decks very easily, I not sure if we can call an accomplishment anymore.
That said is just a joke with some hyperbolic images, something to smile about and forgot seconds later, no one should take so seriously, really.
It's all good, guys! No need for anyone to be upset. I appreciate the joke!
I have heard that it was much, much harder to get to legend back before the ranking changes. Before they were implemented, I got to the "boss battle" at rank 1 many times, but just couldn't get that last win to tip me over in to legend.
I'm proud of hitting it, regardless. I've grown as a player over the last two years, and learned how to play and master many decks. I still make mistakes when I play. I enjoy the game in my downtime between work, my wife and my kiddo, and my running/training. Everything is good.
Everyone, I hope you have a fucking awesome day today!

The ironic thing is that you are actually the one being "that guy" by not being able to take a joke and going on a social justice crusade over it. Seriously you sound like you're about to have a stroke over it. Get over it.
Nicely done. I was about to be that guy, but u were too quick :)
tbh i hit legend every month since AoO released. Boring
The very first time I hit legend was AoO as well and have hit every season since. I was stoked to reach legend but I can admit that it is quite a joke to get now. Nothing wrong with being honest about that and poking a little fun at it either. Cheers brotha.

Your expectations may also differ from a lot of players. After first season in the new system, the numbers were released showing 10 times as many legend players compared to the old system. According to previously announced player distributions, 0.5% of active ladder players hit legend in the old system. Even with a 10 fold increase, you are still in top 5% of active ladder players when you hit legend now, which for most people by no means is trivial

I mean yeah that's fair in a way, but according to your own numbers it's literally 10x easier....
And that was the whole point of the meme that started this whole debate: Before it was a climb up mount Everest....now it's a relaxing gondola ride.
The only part that counts is from Diamond 5 or old rank 5 to Legend. So before u needed 25 stars now its 15 stars. So 10 in difference makes the ladder to legend from being a hell path to a easy baby ride?
Congrats young Padawan, you're now a Master. Grinding on ladder is not really my thing but I took advantage of the pandemic and used the extra time available to also reach legend for the first time a few months ago, after having played for 4 years. But now that you've scaled Mt. Everest what are you going to do? May I suggest some diversification and make yourself a complete Hearthstone expert. Go for golden heroes in all 10 classes. It's so much easier to beat an opponent when you've played his type of deck before. Good luck and great achievement. Legend after 2 years means you have potential to go pro.

I have been here since the begining
Saying its super easy to get legend now comparatively is a fallacy.
The difficulty is the same, the colossal-abysmal difference is in the time investment required going up and down with losing streakers playing a numbers game. That doesnt really interests me. To use a wow metaphor I rather reach a good arena rating now which is "easier" than season 3 than have 1 hour arena matches
Saying its super easy to get legend now comparatively is a fallacy.
No, it is not.
The difficulty is the same...
Not even close.
Play for years and never get no matter how hard I try, in some point I just give up because the reward is not that big compared with get rank 5 and I play for fun not for stress.
After the new system I get legend every month without any effort with personal lists.
Same player, same time spend, same collection level.
The only diference is the new system, much easier than before.
Finally hit it again, this time with (shocker) Shaman.
2020 didn't have many bright spots, but in an inconsequential game that I play on my phone while in the shitter, I did alright. Legend in August with Dekksters Aggro Rogue, and now again the day after Christmas with Vicious Syndicate's Coaster Evolve Shaman build.
I started playing Hearthstone in September of 2018, right after The Boomsday Project came out. My first love was Hunter, and now that I'm two years in to the game and have a better understanding of things, I understand why. It is an easy to learn class and holds its' own fairly well. I got bored of it pretty quickly, though, and moved on to Shaman. This class, when things fell in to place, felt amazing. I had a hard time making things fall in to place though, more often than not. That led me to what I would come to view as my favorite class in the game, the Rogue. It was powerful but not overly so. It made you think. Games tended to be quick. Finally, I had found the "perfect" class for my play style.
Every time I did good in a season, my best pushes and streaks were always with Rogue. And now, after almost two years to the day of playing, I hit legend for the first time. My "boss fight" on 3-star Diamond 1 was an aggro Demon Hunter who gave me a hell of a good fight.
Id's like to take a second to say that this community has been tremendously helpful over the last two years, and I am thankful to have found it. The deck I hit legend with came from here, as a matter of fact:

I remember my first time legend, back in season 1

Its just the ranks ceiling makes the grind a lot shorter, an aggro centric meta might help but its not harder just doesnt take nearly as much time

so, you're posting shit about the game all this time without even being good? WTF mate?
