So far I haven't played a ton of Scholomance, but what I've played I have Honestly not found very enjoyable.
Maybe I'm just burned out on the game, but I'm genuinely wondering how many are having fun playing Standard right now.
I feel like so many of the new cards are at such a high power level that it creates too many games that essentially hinge on drawing specific cards or combos. And as a result many games feel decided by turn 6 -7, if not sooner.
So is it just me, or is this genuinely not a very enjoyable meta?
I enjoy it a lot. a lot of viable decks and some pretty high skill ones too. I admit that at first I was taken aback by druid power, then Paladin, but there are plenty of counters... they just weren't as obvious.
Wild meta? absolutely great. Aggro shamans and druids started popping up like mushrooms after the rain because of Lightning Bloom so people started running tank up warrior (odd) like motherfuckers (fuck CW) so i just farm both with malygos+platebreaker druid
I've been having quite a lot of fun in this "meta". Pretty much every deck feels fair and fun to play. Comparing it to the last 2 expansions (DoD and AoO) this is a really big success for the design team. In Descent of Dragons we had a clear domination of Galakrond Shaman, so they had to nerf it fast, which caused a lot of players to "tilt". Then there came AoO with the new class Demon Hunter and it's memorable 75% winrate. 5 rounds of nerfs were neccessary to actually deal with the problem. Scholomance resulted in a fairly balanced meta with only Guardian Druid standing out, but this issue definitely wasn't as big as Galakrond Shaman or Tempo DH before.
Also Guardian Druid didn't stand out, because it dominated the meta, but rather because it could do unfair comebacks with insane Kael'thas rounds. Other than that, it never got over tier 2.
I think it's generally pretty great! Highlander Mage and Priest are super fun to play. Pain Warlock is pretty cool. Haven't seen much DH or Hunter (which I always love). And most importantly for me - the most prominent aggro deck (Rogue) that I've seen, feels beatable.
It's actually pretty good right now, aside from the fact that the mulligan just feels a little too weighted, the high-roll openings for some decks are just a bit too potentially powerful (and unanswerable) for me.
Well the game is too swingy for me atm. Decks pull out insane stuff that instantly transforms a winnable game into an unwinnable one.
there is too little focus on strategy, tempo and board control and too much power put into certain draws which allows a player to disregard anything the opponent has build up.
Priest stealing your win conditions (best feeling is beating them anyway, looking at the noob legend who lost after playing 3 zephrys). Extreme cheating (druid) and bonkers powerplays (paladin, but at least losing to them doesn’t feel as bad)

To me, It's the best meta we've had in a while.
But if Trump-bumping Chillwind Yetis is your ideal hearthstone, this meta isn't for you.

The 1st step towards a better game is firing Mike Donais! We had enough of his "skillful" balances!
#FireMikeDonais
I am enjoying it. Most classes have viable decks and strategies. One thing I'll say for sure is that its way better than the last two expansion metas

I have been enjoying it so far.
I think people are very quick to jump on the nerf train and complain when something is hard to beat, but there are counters out there for everything.
Yeah, it still sucks when your opponent high rolls and gets all his stuff right away, but it's not every game, that's for sure.

Still some stupid high rolls out there but the so far Kael nerf has worked wonders.

Not me.

Kael and Illucia annoyed me a lot so I think the patch is great.
I'm also very happy that demon hunter is less prevalent now compared to pre school.
Looking forward to seeing how the meta develops.
i like it a lot. :)
Hmmm. I had a lot of fun playing galakrond priest last season. I tried running that deck out the other day with no new cards and just got steamrolled.
Was no fun at all for me. I dont think i have the cards or dust to build something id enjoy more.
I kinda feel shut out of this season. Even if i had a ton of dust im not sure there is a deck that appeals to me (i like playing heavy control decks).
-shrug- some metas are just bad for me personally. I think this might be one of those.
Galavant Animation
Priest is highly unfun to play against. Otherwise it's pretty good.
Not a great meta...just ok. But good enough for me. I stop playing after I reach D5...just doing the dailies.
Quite boring. Wild legend is:
- quest mage (tempo giants)
- painlock
- gibberling druid
- Kingsbane / pirate rogue
- armor warrior (dead man’s hand)
- raza (sometimes with dragons)
And that’s pretty much it.
Take a walk on the wild side...
Other than a few specific things I’m enjoying the standard meta a lot right now, probably more than the last few for quite some time.
meta feels amazing - probably best ever for me
