I also don't care much about card backs, but what is the point of collecting something in a specific way if you can get it later anyway? Blizzard has been trying to hype these useless cosmetic items since release, so devaluing them even further makes no sense. I understand the frustration!
I mean we're talking about stuff that came out *years* ago. There's no statute of limitations.
I think selling them is kinda crappy, but giving new players an opportunity to get them isn't so bad.
The exclusivity argument makes no sense to me. Since we got the random card back thing a while back, that's all I've been using, getting a different card back everyone, or every time you open a pack feels much more in line with what I'm personally looking for in a game, and that diversity.
I might have a card that I haven't seen in over a year, why should it bother me if someone else had the chance to get it? Preorder card backs were never that popular, to begin with, a lot of legend players use their legend card back as a scare tactic, some use the classic card back as a throw off to make you think you'll have an easy time or the opposite, it's all good fun and games.
No use hating on the topping, it's the filling that should be our focus.

If evolution is outlawed, only outlaws will evolve.
Would it be okay if they put the Legend cardback in the shop? The principle is the same: you are required to meet specific conditions in order to obtain it, just like any other. Whether it's the Legend cardback or the Twitch one, the preorder ones or the Secret Level one or whatever, I can see why people would think it disrespectful to the players that actually made the effort to get them.
You're comparing the monthly cardbacks to a cardback that actually requires you to achieve something. This comparison is flawed. The only objective you had to achieve was to be a player back then. I'd say an effort would be an achievement you put deliberate energy into getting it, not "Just play the game!" or "Buy packs!"
So far, it doesn't seem like they're going to return Event cardbacks, or those you had to spend money on, but rather the monthly ones. Don't really see why that's controversial.

I said it's the same in principle, which it is. Fulfill these requirements, get cardback.
Your argument is that simply being a player back then isn't worth anything, I would argue that it should be, especially to Blizz. I'm not pro or con, I'm just saying I can see why people who have supported the game for a long time would feel cheated by those tokens of appreciation being devalued.
Here's a thought...make certain card backs a reward for certain achievements. We know achievements are coming later this year, I expect most of them to have some sort of reward (mainly gold, probably), so why not have all the monthly card back in a pool, and make it so you'll get one at random (from the ones you're missing of course), for the completing of a seasonally based achievement?
This way you can still have the thing were you get a new card back for playing in a certain month, and the chance of getting one that you've missed in the past.
And if the idea sticks, more card back can be added to the poll, like for example those that were awarded from preorders, these getting added after the card from their respective expansions get rotated out.

I couldn't give a crap about card backs, and wouldn't have cared had I not read this thread. If anything is toxic, it's the entitled attitude that sums up the responses in this thread.
If a store has something I want, and offers a 'limited time' sale, or offers a "limited quantity item and I stand in a line for 3 hours to get it, I'm going to be pretty pissed if the same item goes on the same sale 2 weeks later.
You don't care about card backs? Great! Then you shouldn't care if you can't access some anymore. The same reason you don't understand why people care is the same reason why it shouldn't be available to you.

The fact you dare to talk about others entitled attitude in this thread is really funny. Give me a reasonable reason to why others must care if you get pissed or not by such a thing, to the point of giving up their own happiness and joy.

Why are people angry about old cardbacks returning?
Wow. Another genius. It's what the topic of this conversation is?!
Lacking reading comprehension and common sense are up there with entitlement too.

I edited my previous post, read it again. I obviously wasn't talking specifically about card backs, that's why I quoted that part of your post. Seems like reading is hard. -.-
So many people out there missing so many things (not only card backs ;)) that could make them a bit more happy, but you people always want everything for yourselves. Great attitude! Then you wonder and ask yourselves why this world is a mean place. Sigh... -.-
Wow. Another genius. It's what the topic of this conversation is?!
Making fun of others intelligence to help you to prove a point is the most uncreative thing ever. Try to elaborate your own counter-arguments instead of copy pasting what others do and say all the time. I mean, it's not that hard, seriously.
I will wait for a proper and mature response. Take your time.

You're absolutely right, and I apologize. However, "why should anyone care how you feel" is hardly more respectful. I generally try avoid any insults in discussion/debate. In this case I simply met your disdain with more disdain, when I probably should have just ignored your comment altogether, since your reply seems to imply that it doesn't matter why people care, their feelings on the matter are moot.
The question is "why do people care"
I answered "Here's another example to show why people might care."
To which you replied, "why should people care that you care," Basically making anyone's opinion on the matter who disagrees with you irrelevant It's a pretty interesting outlook for someone as opinionated as you. I'll keep that in mind for your many, MANY other opinion posts on this site.
I'm never sure what the confusion is - the cosmetic rewards are for in-game achievements. If you give them away to everyone, then what point do they serve? Might as well just give me the Legend and Golden Celebration card backs then, I guess.
Luckily, this time Blizzard's greed is actually good for everyone, so rather than complaining, everyone can buy what they don't earn :)
If I have the option I will be really happy to trade all my useless card backs (start playing few weeks before Nax release) for a single classic pack with 40 dust value in it.

Sorry, but to be honest, I only really care about the opinion of my beloved ones about what I say. It is them who always support me, it is them who help me in times of need, not the rest of this f..ked up world. I considere the rest of the world my playground and that is never going to change.
Who cares about card backs? Aside from my Legend card back I could care less none of them are worth any money to me
Your statement makes no sense, What you are saying is " card backs mean nothing to me, except for the one (Legend card back) that means something to me." Well to other players, more than one card back may mean something to them.
