Almost every single time an opponent of mine has lethal but has mana to play extra cards he does. I understand that douche bags exist, but how can 90% of the people I play that are in this situation act like this? Nobody at all has any idea what good sportsmanship and bad sportsmanship is or why it's better to be a nice person than an asshole? Nobody cares if they're failing at being a human being as long as they win a children's card game? Is this what the world is now, and why it's in such bad shape, because a lot of socially-challenged people have been taught by a small amount of sociopaths that this is the way that you act?
This sucked before, but, with all the death and suffering in the world right now, this is all people can think of, treating each other badly, trying to make people unhappy, and just wasting their time on Earth? And, no, it's not people 'showing me their hand', or, most of the time, playing quests. It's just backward people gaining pleasure off of causing other people displeasure. It's sadism, and it's pitiful. I could understand an occasional asshole, but so many people, with no one even comprehending how shitty they are?
And, no, I'm not being overly sensitive. I'm a grown-up, and I care more about how people treat each other, especially at a time like this, than a silly little children's game. What almost more upsetting is that everyone's so desensitized that how people treat each other so badly in this game isn't even a subject. Yes, I should give up the game if I feel like this, but I like Hearthstone, and why should I let a bunch of little douche bags take that away from me?
I know life isn't perfect, but how can any human being, of any age, be that petty? I mean, we're talking about a hell of a lot of people learning stupid, anti-social habits that are going to be hard to unlearn and that are really going to hold many of them back. It's just really fucking sad, and no one would ever get away with any similar behavior in real life. If you can't see that, or of you think it's OK because it's online and not in real life, thn how fucked up is that, to think that you should only be nice when there are consequences.
At least for me, if I play extra stuff on the last turn, I'm playing a quest (and I'll try to go as fast as I can), or I've missed the fact that I've got an easy lethal already.
But yeah, there are too many jerks out there. I couldn't say why. Shitty online behavior is often rewarded; folks are told that caring about anything makes you sucker. Just like, be a damn human being.
Just to me, I don't really mind folks playing extra stuff so much, but I'm annoyed the "friendship invite to last opponent" was essentially destroyed by folks who just want to be trash.
All this nonsense about people behaving much worse nowadays is much more annoying to me than anyone insulting my beloved family after losing a match, and that means a lot. Stop paying attention and parroting all the bullshit you listen on media every single day and just read an history book, you will understand.
You always can concede and save your time, much, much worse are opponents when have a lost game instead pass the turn or concede leave the game and you have to wait the sad "Your opponent left", seriously, every time is said "Your opponent left" I hear "Your opponent is an asshole".

There is no correlation to me between rage quitting and being and asshole. What are you talking about?
I just played a few more games. Last game, the game generated a random Vargoth for my opponent, and then the spell that resurrects the same minions. After the game gave him such gifts, he had a full board of minions, and I watched as he obviously struggled because he wanted to play some extra cards just to rub things in. He finally attacked a minion of mine, even though he had lethal, just to show me that he could do extra besides just kill me. Then, you could see him struggling further, just to try to find something else he could do extra, but, if he attacked another minion, he wouldn't have lethal. So, reluctantly, he killed me. It never occurred to him to be thankful that the game helped him out, be a good sport, and say gg. He was just so strongly compelled to try to humiliate me as best he could. It just so distasteful, regardless of winning or losing in a silly game.
It was soooo important to him just to be able to play extra cards and show me how superior he was. I really, really, really don't understand how people don't realize that doing things like that don't show people that they are the opposite of superior, a petty little jerk who needs to try to humiliate his opponent in a children's card game to to make him somehow feel better about himself. Feel better about yourself by being lame and by being a bad sport? Not even a bad sport about losing, but a bad sport about winning? I mean, it's just so drastically opposite to a healthy attitude it's really disturbing. Like I said, an occasional sadist or sociopath or just plain douche bag would be sad, but somewhat understandable. But such a incredibly high-percentage of people? I don't care about the silly game. It's just indicative of something really wrong with our society, I think.
I like the game, but it just sucks being around such lousy attitudes all the time. I keep on uninstalling the game, because of the attitudes, then reinstalling it because I like the game. Einstein said doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results was a sign of madness. I guess I'm a little crazy to expect things to change.
Haha, this is way over the top, and I speak as one who "rage adds" people all the time. If someone playing a couple extra cards before killing you or emoting or whatever is enough to send you into a giant fit of rage, judging people to be douchebags and sociopaths, while simultaneously calling it a silly childen's card game. . . well, I hate to say it man, but the problem is clearly on your (my) end. We have an entire world of people judging everything everyone else does, and if they dislike or misunderstand it, well. . . "douchebag" or "racist" or "moron" or "asshole", etc etc. You're not different, and no better, than anyone else. I take no pride in my fits of stupid rage over losing games, and it's certainly no mark of superiority.
I dont understand how playing out your hand equates to all of this salt? Maybe i had a cool combo that i otherwise couldnt pull off. Maybe i wanted to show u i had no good cards left. Or maybe i just want to play out my hand before the game ends. Like i honestly dont see how playing out your hand could enrage someone so much. There's also the option of just leaving the game when you know youre about to lose. I do it all the time. Dont waste your time waiting for your opponent to finish just leave. Also something like this definitely belongs on a salt thread. This in no way warrants a discussion. Its just you being salty about something u can easily avoid.

First, there is a lot of nice people out there, and by a lot, I truly mean A LOT. And second, why do you think war has always been so present in human history? Do you seriously believe some random dudes just decided to manipulate entire nations with their magical powers and make war instead of love?
What I don’t understand is why somebody who sees that his opponent has lethal and doesn’t want to watch more cards get played out wouldn’t concede.
Two clicks, even with a low APM it takes less than two seconds to concede. You could probably build a keyboard shortcut to do it in less time than it would take to write a salty 4 paragraph post.
Would love to talk about all the repulsive stuff humanity has done through history (war being one of the lowest offenders to be honest) but it is too disgusting to mention in a video game forum.

you are clearly morally superior and any one doing thing things you dont like is just a filthy troglodyte that must be dealt with and reeducated ... seriously tho if they were trolling you they would just rope and finish you at the last second. they most likely just want to play their combo cause that gives them a dopamine boost. so in fact since you complaining about it makes you the asshole...trying deny some one their happy brain drugs and all that jazz
I dislike it when players do all sorts of stupid shit to draw out lethal, it's worse when you aren't 100% sure they have it. I also get irritated when they rope or rage quit when the game isn't going their way. Just end it if you've won, and concede if the writing is on the wall. Before someone calls me a crybaby for saying I get annoyed by people being clowns, please note that I just get irritated. I don't cry or anything.
I do think it’s a form of gloating and has nothing to do with getting “more xp,” whatever that means. It happens all the time. Today a guy with a full board on his last turn brought me to 1 hp, very easily could have ended the game, but instead brings me to 1 then makes a bunch of trades and then plays SI:Agent at the end of rope to finish me. I think in many cases this is only about wasting someone’s time as a way of rubbing salt in some imaginary wound. And it’s not as though they are playing some kind of genius deck or I was playing like a jerk—I never rope unless I’m having connection issues, I never emote more than a Hello or well played if something interesting happens.
you definitely should not let it get to you: this game is awful, the people who design it don’t care about it, the people you play against are often jerks, and it’s expensive. The moment you feel any kind of bother is a great time to put it down and show yourself or the people around you how much you care.

I concede to lethal every single time - job done!
First off if I BM you did or do several things which are way worse imo.
1. Playing hunter
2. Roping turn one
3. Playing demon hunter. (Unless it is the control version)
4. Emote endlessly.
5. play priest for the most part. Unless you play your turns quickly then you have my respect.
other times I play extra cards is to show I had lethal in hand no matter what you did to my board. Which is just a polite move.
oh yeah and BM any Paladin deck you ever play against. (Still have PTSD from odd Paladin and secret Paladin)
THANKS viper.
such salt much BM.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Why do you have to be salty about a game ? and it's not even about balance problems...

It is not a douchebag-ey behavior. I do it quite often, it is about
getting some extra XP
getting daily quest done
You want to avoid that? Use CONCEDE button. Works every time.

BTW sometimes someone does rhis to me, I thank him(her), because I do not see it as a problem and maybe they need some
extra XP
cards to be played to complege quest.
Sometimes when opponent has 3-5 Sorcerers Apprentices and Archmage Antonidas and plays any spell, I just concede. It works.
