There's nothing skilled about it. The only decision you need to make is - does my hand have anything useful that I want to cast?
Yes - don't cast; No - cast. It really is that simple.
It's very simply an undercosted draw card with a quirk. I'm not saying it's stupidly OP or needs a nerf, just that it's not as clever as you think it is. It does make tracking look a bit pish tho...
How many skilled cards you know in Hearthstone? Every card is cast or not cast, this is not the point.
I personally remember Defile as skilled card (without mentioning Lord Godfrey that was so strong and easy to proc)
After Defile, Secret Passage is probably the most skilled card that we saw in Hearthstone. The right use can make you win or have you hand stuck and lose. But Secret Passage can also be used to push face and to be aggro when your hand is empty and, in this case, I agree with you that is not a skilled card. But when it is used to make a better turn, the right decision when it should be used is very skill based.
Now that I've been playing aggro rogue, Secret Passage is indeed a fun card to play. The effect is well designed, yes. The mana cost though....... Completely different story lol.
As someone said, it could be 3 mana and still see play. Hell it would "force" aggro rogues into using more Preparations in their deck which would ultimately make the deck more consistent anyways (you heard it here first =P). Guaranteed it's hit in the first wave of nerfs, but it will be at least more balanced at 2 or 3 mana.

The card effect is really cool don't get me wrong, but the mana cost is ludicrous! Being able to draw 5 cards for a single point of mana AND keeping discovered or generated cards afterward is a bit much. Also, the interaction with evocation is pretty dumb.
It has to be 3 mana minimum. I crafted 2 golden copies just so I can dust them later =)
Hard to say if its skillful or not i've played alot of aggro rogues and literally there is zero skill involved in it since their hand is generally running dry on a regular basis they will throw it out whenever they just need stuff to play, Not seen enough of other rogues decks to say if it can be used more skillfully i would have to face rogues other than aggro rogues and i dont see that happening anytime soon.
I would say Mindrender Illucia is the best designed card and when given the chance can be a very skillful card, I would say a card that requires you to be willing to give up X ammount of your own cards, Knowing if you can afford to lose those cards for the possible benefit of discarding X of your opponents cards requires alot more skill than "When would i like to draw 5 cards". Illucia requires you to have a idea of what your opponent is playing, When it hits its power level and be willing to sacrifice your own hand and your next top deck to use it, Play it too early and the impact it has on your opponent might not weaken them as much as they weaken you by playing your cards, Play it too late and its likely going to be a upside for your opponent and not you and even if you play it at the right time but have'nt drawn your Galakrond even if you discard your opponents best cards they could still topdeck your Galakrond on their turn and you've just given them the value game which is pretty much all priest has.
Secret passage requires you to know your own deck, Illucia requires you to know your own deck and your opponents and comes with a risk vs reward whenever you play it, Unless your hand is empty then its only rewards but thats exactly the same with secret passage, Also the mana cost of secret passage alone is just stupid there is literally no downside to a 1 mana draw 5 at no point are you ever going to be in a worse position on your following turn when you play it at worse you're going to be in the exact same position you would be if you did'nt play it, Now if it had a downside it would be a much more skillful card........For example if you discarded any cards you generated if you did'nt play them that turn then it would be more skillful and have a risk vs reward aspect but as it is now secret passage is just play the card and either you're in the exact same position the following turn or you're in a better position there is no worse position.
But thats just my opinion and maybe how the card is used in aggro decks makes it seem alot more brainless than it actually is but thats just the nature of aggro decks, I would love to see how its used in other rogue decks but alas i've yet to face a single rogue that was'nt a full on aggro deck and when that is all you see i fail to see how anyone who sees this card played by a aggro rogue thinks "Damn thats a skillful card right there".
I'm guessing you're a rogue main? Because I'm sure druid mains with OP win more cards like lightning bloom also think that card is the best designed card in the expansion. Just because a card a helps you win more games, doesn't mean it is good for the game as a whole.
The card make the game more dynamic and more consistent this is why is good.
its basically a 1 mana search for lethal like a better tracking...its a busted card in any meta with a lower power level.

Has anyone tested what would happen if you play Secret Passage followed by a second one (assuming the second is drawn)?
Does that give you a "Draw 4 cards" for basically 2 mana? o.O
If you cast Secret Passage and after another Secret Passage, at the end of the turn your hand will be back to the original starting hand, so nothing will happen.
Yep, can confirm (I tried it over the weekend) that this is the way it works. :-)

Frothing Berserker is the most skill based card we've seen IMO.
