More I think I hate the effect it has on other people accepting my requests. I could never give someone this kind of attitude, I just want to be able to friend people!
i used to keep a folder of these rants on my phone. In response, I like to tell them they lost because they are losers, and that’s just the way it has to be.
If you beat someone and they add you to insult you don't be upset by it, bask in the glory. I take it as the ultimate accolade when someone, especially a face roll deck player, tries hurting my feelings with their pathetic insults. If you really want to rub salt in the wound, aslong as they don't unfriend you straight away after throwing their tantrum (they are pitiful cowards after all) , don't insult them back, just simply remind them who won the game.
Being a priest player invites it. The class tilts people.
Queing in to a face hunter invites it. Face hunter players, on average, are looking for quick wins and pound their tiny fists on the walls if they get blown out.
Have experienced far worse than this. This was really mild imo. Don't be bothered by it. These people will always exist and do this no matter what. If you don't like the messages (I always laugh at them), then don't accept it from dumb aggro players.
Get over it? Nobody really cares. We all experience internet flamers. Nothing special about your particular guy. All you are doing is validating his time by not forgetting it and moving on with your life.
If you approached someone and started telling them they should kill themselves there can be consequences for that, the online space should be no different. [snip]
If a girl can get sentenced to 15 months in jail for telling her boyfriend to kill himself through text messages, there should be an equal consequence for people who do the same thing online. (So long as there's a sufficient paper trail, natch. Criminal trials hang on "beyond a reasonable doubt", after all.)

Good thing you're not a lawyer, because with how casually you draw "if, then" comparisons half of this country would probably be charged with a death penalty from you before the new patch gets released.
I have never done this, but have recieved it a few times, and every single time its made me laugh. I don't see why people get so upset - it's just 'trash-talking'.
When I played football we'd be at each other all the time on the pitch and that was in RL. It was just part of trying to get an edge, it didn't stop us shaking hands before and after the game and even hugging it out.
Some people need to grow a goddam spine when it comes to internet communication.
Now all that said, if you can't control your babyrage over an online cardgame you are a super weak individual, rather than adding someone just to insult them, just take a break.
Well, you can't complain about other people's attitudes when you accepted their friend request. People are free to say whatever they want even though I'm with you and hate those kinds.
No, they're not and there's a reason there are laws to prevent/deter certain abusive behaviour in real life for things that fall into things like harassment, hate speech or threatening behaviour. You obviously can't police everything and there are certain things that fall into simply being a bad loser/winner etc. There is however a general misunderstanding of what free speech is actually there for, it isn't to simply say whatever you want and there is a bizarre tolerance for online behaviour which isn't extended to 'real life' behaviour and this tolerance is one of the causes of this toxicity getting worse and worse.
The longer this sort of thing is shrugged off, the more cowards behind a keyboard will push the boundaries and its not OK. If you approached someone and started telling them they should kill themselves there can be consequences for that, the online space should be no different. Maybe then people would stop having dual personalities, their real life and then their online one.
It’s a videogame, it’s not that serious dude. This kind of thing has been going on as long as online multiplayer has existed. It’s not “hate speech” just because someone insulted you in a game. I’ve had this happen to me after playing Aggro Hunter just to get my pack in a Tavern Brawl. Just laugh it off and move on, honestly I find it funny.
In case new players haven’t grown accustomed to hearthpwn, just look at the post on here where blizzard showed support for a peaceful protest after the murder of a black man by the state. The amount of reactionary and blatant racism displayed by the members lead me to steer away from the gamerbro community. Yes it’s toxic, no it’s not just this community and yes It is common..err rampant. I get friend requests from people literally seething at me for RNG when they themselves made huge fucking errors in the game, yet ask me to explain to them how they could have played better. To be fair I do enjoy watching them lose their cool, it’s just exhausting to go through the process, that I stopped accepting friend request from opponents, unless they were polite in game.

No you're wrong. The clue is in the title. Hate speech is speech that is hateful. Regardless of the context, telling someone to drink bleach is hateful.

Ah well, I’m a casual browser of hearthpwn/ player of hearthstone, so I don’t really know where I can post this, or if I am even allowed to discuss such a topic. But this is something I would really like to gain some perspective on and rant about, whether this comment gets reported or whatever…
Summary: I was trying out a self-made Galakrond quest Priest, and matched up against this face hunter player. The game basically lasted 4 turns. I played my quest and the Renews in my hand since he decide to deal face damage early via leper gnomes and kobold sandtroopers. He abruptly conceded and then sent me a friend request which I naively accepted… Big mistake.
He proceeded to send this abomination to me, and then blocked me… I mean this is beyond rude. I am flabbergasted.. What is this community coming to? I remember when players would add one another to congratulate a game well played. This guy basically tried to go face, failed and then decided to throw personal insults at his opponent for playing his hand whilst hiding behind a screen.
Did I do smething wrong? How was what I did worthy of such an attack to my person?
Btw Toxxyn, if you happen to see this, just wanted to let you know the things you insulted me with were the very qualities you lacked judging from your behaviour. The least you could have done was to hear my side of the story before blocking me and then hiding away.
Even random women on Tinder just add me to throw me some random insults. You have to be f..king kidding me...
Oh my sweet summer child, this is just a soft touch on your cheek.
Stop accepting aggro players, unless you want to see the real meaning of flame.
Not everyone wants to BM, I find it dumb, personally.
Just answer with "You're noob at bm'ing too, I see". If they keep raging, grab some popcorn :p
P.S. one of my old favorites was "does this mean dinner's off?"

I've seen much worse.
Being a priest player invites it. The class tilts people.
Queing in to a face hunter invites it. Face hunter players, on average, are looking for quick wins and pound their tiny fists on the walls if they get blown out.
Just report it and move on, bud.

I thought that was pretty funny. You need to learn not to take the internet and/or games so seriously.
Why so serious?
OP, you must really suck at real life if you get hurt by the internet.

Oh i seen that episode! Sick girl that is !

Yeah, let's pretend the world is a very nice place with some random villains out there doing some evil stuff, just like a Disney movie...
Breaking news: It's not!
