Galakrond was the only Priest deck worth much (appologies res Priest). And that deck was only ok in my mind.
So what did blizz do? They threw in 3 or 4 minions you wouldnt want to randomly generate. Before this release you would be sad with lightwell. And sometimes that 1/2 that had dragon synergy was poor. But that was about it.
Now you can pull a vanilla 1/4. A minion that gives your opp access to your full hand of cards, or one that randomly pulls a spell out of your deck. Yikes. 2 of those are so bad most of the time you dont even drop them if you have the spare mana and board space.
So they made galakrond priest worse. And what did they give Priest in return??? I dont know. I dont see much there. Maybe res priest got a little love?
But the other classes were getting bonkers good broken cards. (I do like the new 6 mana 4 damage priest spell, it shines pretty well i think), so i think priest went from having one decent deck to probably having none. Maybe a nice t3 res priest option.

Just try new things. Make experimental decks which may or may not work. Sometimes you discover a fun deck and sometimes even strong decks. That‘s the beauty of a new expansion. You never really know how good a card is until you play it....except the 1/4. that‘s just garbage xD don‘t know what blizzard was thinking there. Should have been a neutral. Would even make much more sense, since that student is just finding its identity.
It's difficult to predict whether priest will be good, but I'm really hoping we are pretty much done with galakrond, I've seen enough of him in the last two sets. Quite a few of the priest cards have potential, including some that you seem to be dismissing, they will just require a different type of deck.
Yes, you are being too pessimist. It's too early to condemn the class. Disciplinarian Gandling is an amazing card and it's a worthwhile addition to Galakrond's pool. Frazzled Freshman is bad in the late game but you use Gandling to turn him into a 4/4. High Abbess Alura is definitely something you don't want to play when playing Galakrond. She isn't a card to slot in an existing deck. She is a card you MUST build your deck around otherwise she will just cause problems. Flesh Giant is very good for Galakrond. It will be a free 8/8 most of the time in the late game. Cabal Acolyte is a decent early game taunt with an upside so it's not bad. Brittlebone Destroyer is very easy to activate and it will be a good removal. Devout Pupil is also good because the deck already play cards like Apotheosis and Renew which will discount it. And Mindrender Illucia is a little tricky but not totally unplayable in Galakrond. It's very situational. You are panicking for no reason. The class got a bunch of good minions. Galakrond won't be unplayable. Will it be meta? Impossible to tell right now but the pool of minions mostly improved.

I dont think brittlebone desteoyer is eady to activate aftet playing galakrond.
Res and Galakrond priest have never been of my liking and I mainly play priest - I miss the old control days where you didn't need a wincondition to win.

you contradict yourself plus that 1/4 is really not shitty thats 5 stats for 1 mana . and you clearly didn't watch Kiblers stream today, that 1/4 was a 9/15 on turn 4-5. lol. thank god you are not a game developer cuz putting that minion neutral would be pretty op. hence why they made it priest only so you dont see that card everywhere.

It's all on Illucia now, if she sucked then dumpster for 4 months.

Well the freshman sucks. Except you have the godly starthand of freshman 2x powerword Schild, coin and inner fire. Then you have a 8/8 turn one.

Watch Regiskillbin's video highlighting the new control theif priest. It's actually pretty sweet and he did really well with it.

Fun > Meta

Priest being a dumpster makes the best meta.
It won't be. (;
