The introduction of dual class cards, something we’ve wanted for years, is finally happening and it’s even better than we had hoped. These dual class cards are allowing for brand new ideas never thought possible, and a lot of them look like they’re gonna shake up the meta.
From a purely conversational standpoint (I can't believe I've actually got to say that)... so far a lot of the cards, dual-class especially, seem rather mediocre. Along with that the class legendaries are super dull and also weak. Don't get me wrong, the set as an overall looks pretty interesting, but the cards themselves... I don't know... meh?
I do hope the rest of the set raises the bar a little.
The power level of this set seems off the charts - if you meet the right conditions. Looks like we've moved on from old days of curvestone to swingstone ... which personally I think is more fun.
As a control player I really like how the new cards seem to be following slower playstyle than what we had in Ashes of Outland. I'm really interested how Demon Hunter will develop. Many people already hate the class, because of it's incredibly high power level in the first months of it's existance. Now there isn't really much we know about the class. I mean, like it's weaknesses and advantages. We got accustomed to Tempo DH, which I personally didin't really enjoy playing with or against, but now it seems like Control DH will become a new way to play with the class. I'm really excited how this will play out.

Agreed, all the cards i see are mediocre AF, nothing so far is interesting, the only card that peaks my interest is the shaman/druid innervate for wild ofc, standard is unplayable as it stands. If the other half of the cards are still as boring as these ones, we'll have another stale shitty meta until december
I also like a lot the new expansion so far, but some aggro cards make me worry, namely Lightning Bloom and Secret Passage.
IMO they should keep the dual-class cards for future expansions. We have the same number of cards but we still have a bigger card pool per class. Maybe they should just change the pairings in the next expansions.

A lot of these cards crazy so far what are you talking about
You mean like Kazakus or Aya Blackpaw? I don't that it is exceptionally innovative or influential
Correct, however tri class cards were not impressive such as these cards are.
I am honestly interested in this card set so far. Different tools and directions. The mixing of classes that introduce Druids to overload and Shamans to ramp. I love this.

The rest of the class legendaries are either really good, interesting, or both. But as of now, the neutral legendaries are 100 times more interesting than the rest. I would've gone on about the dual-class cards too, but I lost interest halfway through.
Despite how awful the public reception of Gadgetzan was I LOVED playing the expansion. Every good deck had a unique angle, a clear motive and obvious strengths and weaknesses. Singleton decks were beyond fascinating; Reno and Kazakus made them incredibly robust and able to play out just about any curve decently well and every game they were in was different. The only win-con deck was Jades, which required a deck chock-full of Jade cards and showed them as early as turn 1.
My only gripe throughout the whole expansion was that Pirate Warrior was too luck-based; it could either draw the stone cold nuts or Patches and no curve. Other than that, Gadgetzan was one of my favorite expansions of all time. If Scholomance even lives up to THAT for me (not even WotOG) then I'll be happy, especially if any decks can be crafted on a budget.

I agree, I like alot of the control cards, but if you've been around for many expansions, you'll know they ALWAYS reveal control cards first, and then slip in all of the super aggro cards just before release
Forget the dual class cards (except lightning bloom, druids and shamans will be good for the next 2 years yay), the neutral legendaries are INSANE this expansion, lots of uses in a lot of decks.

Lilian is a must-craft for every stealth rogue list, combos amazingly well with Vectus too. Legendaries dont need insane effects, just effects too strong to be two-ofs.

Yeah - I think this set displays a noticeable shift in design philosophy.

Im getting Kobolds vibes from the cards. Just pure memes and RNG. And boy, I love that sh*t!
From the cards i see >.> it's dogshit, memes and RNG
The 1st step towards a better game is firing Mike Donais! We had enough of his "skillful" balances!

Quest shaman might not be amazing top tier, but there are some fun battlecries so far for sure.
Cheap battlecry cards like : Wandmaker Cult Neophyte Pen Flinger to make a new road to quest completion.
And some nice mid-mana cost double battlecry combos with cards like Groundskeeper or Vectus

Keymaster Alabaster come faster

Star Student Stelina: MUST be Outcasted. Just a less than average 4/3 if not.
Mozaki, Master Duelist: Good, but boring.
Turalyon: I mean... come on. Paladin being Paladin again I see.
Infiltrator Lilian: Absolutely NOT worthy of legendary. This is a rare effect at best. Also boring.
Archwitch Willow: Good, but boring.
Rattlegore: Waaaay too slow. Easily prone to silence and transform. Played for funsies only.
Doctor Krastinov: Fine card, but my god that's bland.
Ras Frostwhisper: Good, but boring.

Best expansion for the highest amount of salt threads and loss of players.

It's just like any other expansion: you have some cool cards, some strong cards, few tech cards and the rest are expansion filler garbage.
In death, I exact my revenge!
