I been making a deck after deck after deck after deck after a deck, Same result every living time is a lose, one mans sadden lose is one mans happiness, and i been lived soo much of rng, card gen and better overall decks by my opponents, there has been soo many times in my life when the game is soo one sided, the opponent either clears all your threat while generating cards and you just loose more and more value,
I am a shaman main and i became one in the shudder era, shudderwock made me creative in standard, it made me make dragon shudderwocks, elemental shudderwocks but if i try to pull that type of stuff in wild, its one sided, you get deleted by much more advanced decks everytime and never get to the potential.
If i want to advance even a little with shaman, its literally a casino game, you evolve and its a random minion, its random if your opponent kills all your totems if you play totem shaman, its random if you even draw the cards you need in the early game.
And before you say "meta decks are better then decks that are just fun" you are wrong because in the past, soo many times i had chances to win games, i lost games but i also won some, now its soo bad that i am hard stuck bronze.
Like what the actual evolution is this for the card games, we are moving backwards and not forwards.
Ps. i was right on shaman being really bad when outland came.
(People who like dh news read whats bellow)
Dh was a disaster, you know it, i know it and everybody else knows it, soo easy legends that it became a visit in a candy shop.
If you just want to rant, there's the Salt thread for that. If you want to have some help, maybe post one of your decks and ask people to improve it.
Sorry, but if you can't win a single game without relying on a card like Shudderwock that can win games by itself, you are either a bad player, or a bad deckbuilder, or both. And I doubt your creativity, if you used to build all your decks around the same mechanic, and struggle to adapt to the current meta.
Shaman is not doing great lately, and I don't know how many bonus stars you currently have, but even Shaman can get out of Bronze league with enough patience, especially in Wild.
Dunno what to tell you man, I brew wild decks all the time, including janky shudderwock decks, and usually hit a barrier of more refined and efficient decks somewhere in platinum ranks.
Maybe you need to think more about your curve or what tech to include for the meta you're facing. Both are really important if you want to advance. You can't just jam all the fun cards and expect to win games.

This a typical fellow travellers rant to infer that people who genuinly think about mishaps and unbalances suck at the game and are therfore sentenced to the salt thread. Creative gameplay is by default not rewarded since creativity is at odds with Blizzards pack buying mindless gameplay demanding target audience. Card design is extremely political aiming at not making creativity a win factor. The skillfloor would raise then and that is not what Blizzards wants.
Skill in HS is playing more effectively mindless than others. Too hard for fellow travellers to understand.
For me it works. It really depends which class you play. I play mainly dh. Mine deck is Highlander demon Hunter with nethrandamus (Think i spelled it right). This card is the star of the deck. You mainly play this deck as a midrange deck.
Nethrandamus has won me so many games because the card is basically a stronger dragonqueen alextraza when you hit 10 or 9 drops. Even 8 drops are great. Not many classes can't deal with it (mainly Rogue, demon Hunter, Hunter and druid)
I dont run dragonqueen but i do run zephrys. I also tried to run magtheridon because i always run that 5 mana aoe but the chances you hit that combo isnt that high. So i run 1 2 mana 2/2 that Discovers a demon so I can still do sometimes the combo when the time is right.
So to summarize this text: if the class has very strong tools you CAN be creative. But classes like shaman and paladin dont have many win condition cards so it is hard to make a creative deck with a clear win condition.
"I main X class" i stopped reading after that. Thats a huge mistake. Tou can have a favorite class but saying i main this or that class is a huge mistake in card games. This isnt an FPS game
I play a Leoroxx OTK Dinosaur in Legend 1200~800. I ranked from Bronze with it. it's very cool and really homebrew. NO Zuljin
Rexxar to counter aggro (but i don't build many minions to not troll Leorox effect Ungoro 7/7 charge dinosaur / King Crush / 4/3 Copy a beast / Stitched tracker 1, draw a beast +2+2 x2 and two Master's Call x2 to find the cards of the combo. Secret package with Wolf Spellstone / The best four mana removals spells and one of them is the one that give 3 face and +3+3 to a beast in hand. And that's it. The game got better with outlands. I tried to play with this deck for one week, only playing with it, more than 200 games and then I found the right cards to fit it and the right way to play. You will find it eventually but u need to have some knowledge of game to do that. I build my deck around the actual meta, that's why the spellstone and the removals untill I'm able to Pull Of Leoroxx and 33 damage or 21 if not buffed. Tip: Loatheab in most of your games will make u win. In my case I use him turn 7 or 6 if I'm second. Keep the enemy from use heal spells or Boardcheat control spells.
You should be able to pilot a janky homebrew wild deck, if the fundamentals of the deck are ok and you don't suck as a pilot, up the ranks a fair way...atleast to platinum. If you can't do that then either the deck is beyond-meme bad, you are a bad player, or both.

Agree...U need to answer yourself a simple question: What's the goal of my deck? How Can I win and How do I want to win? What tool I will use to finish the game? U can't win a game "most of time" with decks that only burn itself trying to face in early games or with decks with infinite value but no strategy, only RNG and random stuff.
He always plays homebrew decks, and he always have about 50% winrate. Sometimes a bit lower, sometimes a lot higher. My point is? He is a good deckbuilder and a good player, and he enjoys the game because he can be creative and successful. I could have also mentioned Brian Kibler.

I think many decks now days rely on something unless its dh, priest rely on good resurections, warriors on extremely good start, hunters for the quest and so on, of course its not always the one card to rely on, i have made decks that support each other or there is a end game that uses multiple cards to make something.
Dunno what to tell you man, I brew wild decks all the time, including janky shudderwock decks, and usually hit a barrier of more refined and efficient decks somewhere in platinum ranks.

of course i tried more rushy decks like overload shaman with jades and stuff or even spell damage shaman or common decks like totems, galagrond, evolution and big shaman but its just very rng reliant, and if you try adapt, its not simple because priests are heavy on control, mages are unkillable because ice block (yes i tried secret stealer) dh, hunter and warrior and quick on damage, so its like this morges board of meta decks that you should counter with rng shaman decks.
Shudderwork shaman sucks, I almost always win against shudderwok shaman, play careful and hit multiple dirty rat effect on the right moment.
i want to try little bit of big shaman, main cards are just yhsaar and the king of the moon?(cant remember the name) but its like 3200 dust to craft them and i want to save for new expansion. big shaman is very expensive.

Yeah shaman usually just dies before it reaches to the win condition anyways...

well people who mained dh are doing pretty well, i do play warlock, mage and druid but those classes are kinda bad at the moment too because rogues and priests and demon hunters.

i think hunter has some unique fun decks that work really well on ladder, nice effects and synergies but blizzard is just really careful because hunter deals allot of burst.

if i say, "i want to win a match by evolving in mid game and drop a galagrond in late game" for exambles, but because your draws are bad or your opponent is too aggresive or your opponent clears everything, you just loose and keep loosing.

i like watching hearthstone youtubers for inspiration and deck builds but most of them avoid shaman atm, because warlocks have draw and mages have boxes and yogs and other effects.
I've been playing Highlander Quest Shaman and am mid-Gold rn, and I think I've played maybe 20 games this month.
You can literally climb out of Bronze with Yeti and Stormwind Champion dude. If you are stuck in Bronze, the issue is 100% you.
How about you post a deck code so we can go over it and fix the problems together?
im not lying or trying to be a funny troll, i been playing this game for at least 4 years now on pc, phone and tablet while having like over 1000-2000 hours of game time.
you cant win resz priest with stormwind champion or demon hunter or hunter or warrior because most people who are on bronze are usually over platinum players who went back to bronze and now climb back, if i saw magma ranger or bouldefist oger and i kept loosing, i would admit that i am shit.
now decks that i use are mostly deleted because i try them, change them and delete them because i have lost most hope on deck building.
but this is one deck that i like to use now and than # AAEBAaoIBvoPuhSWsgKn7gKw8ALN9AIM+wG+BtITshS1FPeqAva9ApTvAqGhA52jA9qlA/mlAwA= #

Just play Face Hunter or Ress Priest till this game dies..which is never. Eternal misery

It works in wild. KEKW.
The 1st step towards a better game is firing Mike Donais! We had enough of his "skillful" balances!
#FireMikeDonais
In standard there is not enough variety of cards to make fun decks that works.
In wild at legend there is tonnes of fun deck, yesterday i ahd a very fun game of my paladin murloc OTK against a hodgoblin paladin.
And so many fun and interactive decks that are viable because you have a large pool of cards.
Even some decks that began being weak/memes (secret mage/ discard warlock) became meta decks over time.
Ha ha, salt

Either you're bad at building decks or bad at playing them
I made an odd shaman to prove to a friend the upgraded shaman hero power was good
It's got a 70% wr in ranked over around 20 games over plat/diamond
You're probably just too greedy forcing in cards you find fun over what's best for the deck

big pool of interactive cards and we still keep seeing resurection priest because blizzard can't design anything else.
very original, not funny, didnt laugh.
