Hello all! Just curious, do golden packs have a pity timer of their own, or does opening them at the right moment/ pity timer guarantee a golden legendary?
I never tried with any classic golden packs and I got mostly trash, does anyone have any knowledge in this area?
It has been confirmed by Celestalon (One of the HS game designers) that golden classic packs do not have any sort of pity timer, not even between themselves which means that every single one is pretty much up to luck, you could technically open 100 golden packs and get no legendary. As I said this was confirmed by Celesttalon on a tweet but it was like 2 or 3 months ago so it would take a lot of time for me to go through their twitter and find it but I'm sure if you are patient enough and scroll far enough you'll eventually find the tweet if you need official confimation.
I really didn't know and believed they were on their own pity timer (and I think many (if not most) people do) so this is crucial information when evaluating the value of golden packs (and especially the need to get some more to reach a non-existent pity timer)
What about the '1 legendary in the first 10 packs rule though'? Like if I open 5 packs from the next expansion and get no legendary and then start opening the 5 golden packs...?

Do you know what a link is? You have to click on it and READ:
- they are not subject to any form of pity timer rules. There's no guaranteed Legendary in the first 10 packs(nor in the next 40, assuming you ever get that much).

A little google search does the trick: Golden pity timer

Thank you both. I have seen from blizzard customer support that pity timer doesn’t officially exist.
I’ll try it out with the regular pity timer and see if I can get some golden legendarys but I’ll keep this info in mind!
