But firestone has taken it too far. I watch Thijs stream and he uses it. First I saw that it helps keep track on where cards in opponents hand got from, that is stretching what is ok, but today I noticed that it calculates the on board damage for the user, that is over the line for what is acceptable in my book.
I hope Blizzard is aware of this and draws a line. I know it does not do anything a player can't do, but it saves time and if you were to do all the things firestone does for you yourself, then you would have significant less time to think about your turn and execute it.
Believe me, if the deck tracker really does everything for you there will be a point where you will get bored really quick, and it is not exaggerated if you ask me. There are some people that play hearthstone and know 0 math, this tool can help them really efficiently in calculating the board damage, cards that opponent played and stuff like that.
That is NOTHING.. There were (past tense because I am not sure if it was fixed. It was occurring about a month ago) trackers that could identify generated cards when drawn. Specifically.. primes (second form) and albatrosses. So if you used those deck trackers, you knew if/when your opponent drew his prime or an albatross..This is basically cheating and those programs shouldn't be able to have that info. Obviously Blizzard has been notified.

Why won't you give them a chance?
Decktracker does too much for you in my opinion, I am not saying it does everything. If you have a real math problem with adding up board damage, then use a calculator, then you use time on it like non decktracker users.
I repeat, if a tracker does so much work for you that you have a significant more time to think about and execute your move than a player not using it, then it should not be allowed. Its all a matter of saving you time (and do stuff for you, that you otherwise would not bother with).
I don't play Hearthstone to practice basic math, and trackers remove the bad feeling of losing because of forgetting which cards are left in the deck. Grinding to legend is so much more enjoyable with trackers imo.

Where did you see this bullshit? deck tracers don't show anything that you can't see without using them, they don't show if your opponent drew their prime, albatross or any other card.

first of all... it is 100% not bullshit. I was the one who noticed it and the one who notified them via multiple channels. The problem was/is obviously with some card id the server sends and probably reuses later when the card is drawn. The information was there only for those specific cards. The deck tracker is not one of the popular ones.

dude.. why are you so aggressive? What is your problem exactly? I obviously cannot post the name of the deck tracker! What if the issue is still there? What are you saying that I am lying? To gain what exactly? Did I also put that bug report on 29th of May (report is still there without replies) just to plan ahead?? Do you also want me to forward you the emails with blizzard support??
PS: and to make things worse...I just played a meme deck with albatrosses just to check..the problem is still there..
PS2: you know what...do you want me to add you and play a battle just to see if the tracker can spot when you draw the albatross?

Why can't you tell the name the deck tracker? If people are cheating with a deck tracker then why are you hiding the deck tracker? Maybe you are also cheating with it!!!

First of all I was about to say sorry for jumping the gun at you yesterday. None can be sure since this is language in written form. I want to think you weren't really accusing me of lying but you were curious and skeptical..Now I want to believe you are not really accusing me of being a cheater. Why? ..I want to think you are a logical person (sorry if it really sounds aggressive from my part - IT IS NOT. I will elaborate).
Thank god we established (sort of) that this thing exists. Right now since it exists I can prove. So if you want definitive proof please ask me now for a challenge battle. Later it might be late since theoretically it can get fixed at any time. Why? Well.. programmatically speaking the problem is on the server side since it kinda sends information to the client that can be exploited. It can be fixed now..or tomorrow..or never. Since they know..they decide.
Now.. why can't I tell the name of the deck tracker? Isn't it obvious? What do you think will happen if I find a program that exploits (no matter how big or small like this one) any game and I share its name? I do not want to get banned for sharing that. Plain and simple.
Lets go to the "Maybe you are also cheating" part. Could I be using the tracker. I guess. Was I? I cannot prove that and you cannot either. Can I use the tracker to get that information and use it to gain an advantage? Of course I could. Was I? Again.. I cannot prove that unfortunately and you cannot either. As you can see this leads nowhere. If you want to throw meaningless and unprovable and also undefendable accusations towards someone about a game..what can I say? I can also accuse you of cheating using the same logic. I can say you also found about it and that you are using it. Can I prove it? er.. No..can you prove that you are not? No..see? it is easy..and stupid. I can also go as far to saying well.. what happens if a decent human being with no intention of cheating accidentally finds that thing? Well that is easy to answer. He contacts the company first through emails directly and if needed and told so, through the official bug report forum of the game. That is exactly what I did. That is a fact. Yes the problem is known publicly (since May 29) but that is what Blizzard specifically told me to do. Would you do the same in my place? I cannot prove you would, but I think you would and I hope you would. Can you prove you would? Again No.. but honestly I think you would because you like me are not a damn cheater!
At least i remember a video on Reddit where you could see the opponents Prime, when drawn. I would hope they fix it rather fast since tournaments are coming soon.

No idea. The problem is Blizzard knows at least since May and did nothing. I doubt Firebat uses the tracker I know but maybe other trackers started exploiting the issue as well in some of their versions or through plug-ins. Question is what is Blizzard doing about it?
I don't play Hearthstone to practice basic math, and trackers remove the bad feeling of losing because of forgetting which cards are left in the deck. Grinding to legend is so much more enjoyable with trackers imo.
A good memory is part of the skills needed to be good at a card game, so if Blizzard does not deem that it should be the case for Hearthstone like it is for whist or bridge, then they should build it in or maybe do like with wow and addons.
I play for fun and yes I could just use a tracker to be even, but why should I play easier mode to be able to play fair games?
And it is not fair when the tracker can save you a lot of time keeping track what is left in your deck, what your opponent has played, do calculations, rule out secrets for you, tell you where the cards in opponents hand are from.. etc.
People sometimes call hearthstone for randomstone and says its more luck than skill. Trackers make the skill level needed even lower, which makes it somewhat more a luck than a skill game (yes, it does still require skills otherwise we would not have pro players).
HSreplay displays mull'ed cards (returned to deck), i.e. something DOES track them. That isn't a one- or two-off, I saw it on various matches, on various levels (almist all I watch is diamond and legend). Whether or not the exploit can or not be used during games simply doesn't matter. If it can do this during the game, then it enables cheating. I guess it doesn't, but just putting it out there.
I dunno about Firestone, I don't remember watching youtube with that app.
I personally think that all deck trackers should be banned.
The argument that "you can do it with paper so that's fine" is just daft. Tracking lots of things at the same time accurately takes skill. This type of game should encourage as much of a skill element as it can - particularly given that deck design is often done by a third party and optimised on masse. The arguments above essentially saying "maths is hard - deck tracker make OK" is equally stupid. Counting up mana, damage on board, damage in hand etc. are all skills required for the game. If you can't do it maybe you're just not good at the game. Imo it is THE fundamental part of the game (beyond deck building). Using a similar arugment people who play first person shooters should be allowed aimbots if they have slow reactions...
Why should someone get an any advantage just because they choose to use an additional programe. While it's true that anyone could also download the same programe, that doesn't (in my mind) make them OK because 1) you may not know about said programe or 2) may not want to download it. It also (presumably) disadvantages mobile players (who already suffer due to animation issues)
If blizzard really wanted deck trackers to exist it could be argued they would include one in their own game (although it could similarly be argued they could easily ban the ones that do exists if they done like them). Both approaches have financial costs though (one through investment in the game and the other through (potentially) lost players.

Hearthstone Deck Tracker has had the damage calculator for years...
I did not know that. I don't use a tracker. It does however not change that its too much help in my opinion.

Just so you know i have found a website with a ton of plugins to implement in your deck tracker so it can give you a lot of advantages (i don't know why are you playing anymore if you are using that many "helps" but still) : https://github.com/HearthSim/Hearthstone-Deck-Tracker/wiki/Available-Plugins

Im prty sure that at some poin Blizzard will piss off and create own integreted deck tracker system .....
