Usually around this time Blizzard would have dropped some huge balance changes to shake up the meta, but we’ve gotten nothing. Yes the decks you can play are varied, however the decks are still the same, with the occasional switch of one or two cards.
Highlander Hunter (which has been a Tier one deck for months now), Spell/Dragon Druid, Gally/Stealth Rogue, Highlander/No minion mage, Tempo DH, Rez Priest, Pirate Warrior. Im even seeing quest warlock come back (but its not like thats a new deck, people just realized you can use busted Malygos). Im sure im missing a deck or 2 but the point still stands. I love the diversity but when the same decks have existed for months and have barely even moved in Tiers, thats a problem and leads for a very stale and boring climb & experience
only changed the art/name of Succubus (RIP) and Mistress of Pain aswell as the art of a bunch of cards, the only balance change was that Pilfer now gets you a card from another card.
Besides all of that the devs already confirmed another balance patch in this interview: "We'll do another balance patch before the next expansion, but it will mostly be targeted at more small tweaks and making sure we set up the next expansion to be the most fun it can be."
Yeah compared to , idk, 2k16 HS we already had a ton of patches so far.
Btw i would step away from playing everyday. I do one day nothing , next BG , next ladder . Imo we have quite some variety and its not that boring atm. We had definetely worse metas before, but i guess whining helps.

This is not yugioh, where you have thousands of cards to choose from. There is only that much you can do with a limited cardpool. I don;t like the meta personally, but you yourself listed a few of viable decks and this is more than you should be asking from HS Standard.
I agree it is stale and boring. But I also have enough objectivity to say it's my personal feeling and there's no need for any big changes at the moment, even though I consider some things broken and I don't enjoy the game.
But this is what happens after the release of every expansion.
Expansion released, overpowered decks reign supreme, balances changes are made, meta stabilises, same decks are played over and over and over and over until the next expansion is released. New expansion is released, repeat. It's been like this since the game released.
The developers make enough cash from the game in it's current form and expansion cycle that theres no need to change it. Only when something else comes along and takes a significant amount of the market will the game change I.e. autochess.
The game is fun in its first few weeks post expansion then it becomes as stale as the inside of a packet of dry roasted peanuts. Just log on, complete your daily and spend your time elsewhere until the next expansion comes along.
People are so incredibly entitled with such short attention spans these days. I'd genuinely be interested to know the average age of this forum because I imagine it must be somewhere in the teens.
We just had 3 sets rotate out, the card pool in standard is at the smallest amount it will be all year and we're in the final quarter of the latest expansion. The fact that games can continue to add new content at regular intervals is still quite amazing to me.
I grew up in the 90s, with mega drive and the master system. You couldn't save in games that cost £40 let alone have regular content updates. The more content prole are exposed to, the shorter the attention span becomes.
The fact so many call the game boring, broken, stale etc by people who say things like 'I only bother logging in for the daily quest and I log off again'. Like, why bother? What sort of problem do you have that something that you claim doesn't bring you any joy still has such a hold on you that you login to earn some meaningless gold? You're either lying about not liking the game, which is just weird or your exaggerating for attention, which is just sad.
Just do something else for a few weeks, read a book, play different games, learn something, watch a series on the million different streaming platforms we have available to us. I've never continued to frequent and post on forums of games I dislike or have gotten bored of, it's bizarre behaviour to me. I wouldn't go to the cinema to watch a film I know I don't like and spend the entire time bitching about not liking it or eat a restaurant where I don't like the food.
It just comes across as really bratty and childish.
There's no point in complaining about the state of the meta at this point. Even if they drop a patch, it's very likely that things won't change as people are just not interested in trying new things anymore. They will always go back to the same highly effective decks that can be easily adjusted after any changes. If you are tired and bored then take a break. That's what i'm doing right now. I don't like this meta either and i have fully abandoned Standard since i'm so sick of Hunter and DH. Worst meta ever? No. Least fun i had with this game in years? Certainly. Since i'm not having fun with the game, i'm just playing other (better) games until next expansion.

Why do people list Rez Priest as Tier One? It's not. I get that it's a chore to play against, but the deck stinks. It's Tier 4 and the people who play it will lose, and take a long time doing it.
I do agree with the sentiment of this post. The meta is boring and DH is way too dominant. Egg Warrior, Enrage Warrior, and Bomb Warrior can consistently beat it, but those decks are Tier 2 and Tier 3 and awful against most of everything else.
The only thing that brings Tempo DH down is the fact that so many people play it, including "bad" players and those that are experimenting with doing something "new".

Yep that's exactly what I am doing too. Stopped playing HS and I am waiting to see what's in the new expansion. In the meantime, having a blast playing other games.

Meta is greater than ever, get good.
Balance patch is this week most likely. Chill out.
That's just wrong, accoarding to HS wiki the July patches never had a *huge* balance patch, most of them just changed 1 card.
Patch 14.6.0.31761 (2019-07-01)
only changed the art/name of Succubus (RIP) and Mistress of Pain aswell as the art of a bunch of cards, the only balance change was that Pilfer now gets you a card from another card.
Patch 8.4.0.20022 (2017-07-10)
changed the Caverns below from playing 4 minions to 5 minions and while it's a huge nerf, it wasn't a "huge" balance Patch.
Patch 5.2.0.13619 (2016-07-12)
the only balance related change was that Silithid Swarmer got changed to a beast (which didn't impact the meta at all as you might imagine)
Patch 1.1.0.6024 (2014-07-22)
only reworked Eagle bow to the current version.
Besides all of that the devs already confirmed another balance patch in this interview: "We'll do another balance patch before the next expansion, but it will mostly be targeted at more small tweaks and making sure we set up the next expansion to be the most fun it can be."

These posts are sooooooo stale and boring. Let me guess, "worse meta ever"? :sigh:

Dry as a popcorn fart
My ladder experience is over 50% DH, so I'd say we need something done to shake things up.

All I know is of my last 15 matchups, 12 of them were the same Demon Hunter deck.
