- Blizz has 2 expansions designed and completed ahead of the one currently active. Why would they make balance changes so close to the new expansion? Conflict with the upcoming mechanics? if yes, how come they didn't see this coming earlier

lol, how can you ask this after witnessing the last 2 releases. Team 5 is ridiculous, the marketing department makes all the balance calls. The main purpose will be to nerf anything that can compete with the new set, that way players will be forced to buy as many of the new set as possible to get their monthly rewards.
some of the ideas here are moronic. like to say skipper will be nerfed. its a 1/3 that hurts ur own minions what do u want to nerf.
or to make zephyr cost more. then he cant board clear. they would never do that
or to make alex dragons cost 1. that would make her useless. in this meta ppl dead by turn 4-6 and u think mage with no heals can take turn 9 breather? if anything they make her cost 10

Risky Skipper is hands down the best card in warrior right now, the synergy it grants is insane. Board clear, card draw, armor generator, etc. A simple nerf might put it down to a 1/2, a better nerf might make it 2 mana but give it more hp.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Risky Skipper. It has fair stats for a 1-drop and some interesting ability that you need a specific kind of deck in order to take advantage of. It is nowhere near being a broken card. I find that nerfing strong decks in general is a very stupid idea, if something should be nerfed it is specific cards that are way too broken. Take Highlander Hunter also for example, probably the best deck right now, but there is not a single card you can single out and say 'this is broken and needs to be nerfed.
A 1 mana card that can destroy the whole board and that benefits for pirate synergies is broken. It is the same story as the cleric. They should nerf the pirate to a 2/3 2 mana cost. As for Highlander Hunter, maybe at low levels because it is an easier deck, but Warrior and Demond Hunter are better if well-played. Also, the 6/5 dragon and Veranus are a bit broken, but I would just change their stats to 5/5 and 6/6 respectively. #nomoreonecostmeta
Yes but Enrage Warrior doesn't have any spells for board clear or even single target removal (a few lists run Execute but that's all). So Risky Skipper is the only tool they have to deal with an enemy board and that (1) requires some setup and (2) comes at the cost of also damaging your other minions. If Risky Skipper was a neutral card then it would still only find place in Enrage Warrior and no other decks, exactly because it is not a broken card but rather one with an interesting mechanic that you need to build your whole deck around. Veranus on the other hand would easily fit in any tempo deck of any class if it were available, because it is a generally OP card (although given that it is a legendary its power level is fine I think). Rotnest Drake is more deserving of a nerf indeed as it has premium stats + strong ability.

Or just make it what it should have been from the beginning, a bloody legendary weapon. Legendary + costing 6 would be greatly appreciated too, either would be good anyway. That card is stupid.

Yeah I'd be happy for it to stay at 5... if it were a legendary. Knowing the second one is coming out straight after the first one (every time I swear) is just infuriating.
Thoughtsteal is fine. 3 mana is the standard price you pay for drawing 2 cards from your own deck (Arcane Intellect). Paying 1 mana less for 2 random ones from another deck seems fair. Sure sometimes Priests hit the nuts (getting Exotic Mountseller and Glowfly Swarm against a Druid player), other times they can get total garbage (like Corsair Cache)
Ysera, Unleashed is indeed quite OP, but the only nerf that could change that would be to decrease the number of portals it shuffles to 6 or 5. Altering the stats won't change how OP it is. The question though is, is it more OP than other class legendaries out there to deserve a nerf?
I would like to say that Ysera is not OP imo because it's a 9 mana card with good stats and great potential, however in late game almost all other classes will either have won the game or have board clears to deal with the board. Additionally, please note that current problem is in the card generation that the game offers to the players. For example, lackeys are a big problem because they can generate cards that can change the game and you can't do anything to prevent that or play around it. So, imo they would slightly nerf cards that generate other cards for 0 mana (like alex, or rogue gala and staff) and then make the randomness less so games won't be decided of the rng so much (Reno passive hero power or yogg's box) and instead it will have some sense to play cards that counter your opponents play or need to be played to take the tempo or the board back. If I was a designer of the game, I will definitely look towards that direction and not printing more cards that will generate more rng to the game which destroys any strategy or plan that any deck can offer to the players.

So the only deck I play will get nerfed cause whinny little snowflake that can’t handle losing to rogue. Really makes not want to play any more.
