So I was playing Wild ladder, high Diamond. I encountered someone with a nick ThijsNL (spelled exactly like this). Europe server, 9:30 AM.
He didn't do anything outrageous, he just emoted "thank you" several times, when he had counters to my plays (it was Priest vs Paladin match-up, so pretty hopeless for me, considering he can clear every board I create with ease).
He even had one pretty lucky wtf moment in a crucial spot, when he copied Faceless Corruptor from my hand for an an immediate answer to my board, which would snowball next turn. But doesn't matter, I wasn't expecting to win this match-up.
Why I made this thread isn't to bitch about being BM'ed, even if it indeed was Thijs. What I wanted to highlight is that AFTER the game I jumped to his stream to see if he's streaming - he wasn't. Now the thing is, even though I don't watch him, I know that his created internet persona is this guy always kind to everyone, nice, friendly never BM. Now is it possible that outside of the streams he BM's like crazy? Possible.
Yes, I am aware you can pick whatever nick you like. Not saying this was Thijs. Also I I don't really care about BM's myself, whatever. I just wanted to share the story and showcase that quite possibly (once again - not saying this is the case with Thijs) people on the stream and people outside of the stream can be completely different persons.
Not Thijs, just some person from the internet wotihout friends probably that takes a similar name to that of a streamer.
Thijs is just Thijs ingame.
And Thijs barely plays wild.
You are most probably right. Still it is quite possible for him to have another account (wasn't he "ThijsNL" earlier?) and to play some Wild just for himself in his "free time". But yeah, it is likely it wasn't Thijs, just some no life with such nick, for whatever reason.
Thijs no longer uses the nick ThijsNL since many years ago if I remember correctly. His IGN should only be spelled as Thijs. You must be playing against another person.

Don't wanna be an asshole, seriously, but isn't that public knowledge already? :P

Thijs does BMs time to time, but not frequently.

Not the real one.
I also encountered Trump, Firebat and Day9. All fake
I wonder if there is any video on Youtube about famous streamers facing their doppelgangers. Would love to see their reactions... :P

no 1 cares
The 1st step towards a better game is firing Mike Donais! We had enough of his "skillful" balances!
