It happens quite often that I have epic games, switching side games, when my opponent seems to have the advantage, and then back again to me. Or vice versa. And so on multiple times per game.
I sincerely do not understand the rage quit in these cases, some ppl do it.
For me even if I lose I say to my self and I mean it wow, what a spectacular game we had.
I do not generalize, because in most cases the opponent feels the same even if I win. I can deduct that they enjoyed the game.
But I wonder what people that "rage quit" think after a game like this. Maybe some of you can answer :)
A note: I play arena quite often because seems always fresh(er), most of the games like this are there, let us not talk about standard meta once again.
1) These are either very experienced people who count the cards and know for a fact that they have no outs and the opponent does or
2) they are inexperienced players who think they know more than they really do and are incorrectly conceding or
3) they players that are trying to ladder quick and don't want to take the time to finish a long game on a 20% win chance.
All 3 are possible really.
or 4 - Opponent disconnected, pc froze etc.
This happens to me quite often during games because i have an old pc. There has been many times where the game was at its peak and both of us were making powerful moves.. then my pc shuts itself off.. Im pretty sure my opponent thought "oh i just made him rage quit lol" but not really

What if your game was the one that ended his arena run? I can certainly see how someone would get tilted enough to say "fuck it" and just altf4.

Could also be they playing on mobile casually realise they lost and just shut down phone and do rl stuff. I do this often if I'm just squeezing in a couple of games while in the middle of doing other things
These people are not like you, they have sat through a close game, edging their way to what they see as a victory and then... all of a sudden they snatch their loss from the jaws of victory. All encompassing rage follows, insecurites rise. They can't even Esc + concede...they just hit the big cross in toip right/turn off their phone.
It is equivlaent of upending the board in a hissy fit, and is extremely lame. But whatya gonna do? I guess atleast 20% of people who play hearthstone are like this judging by how regularly games end this way.
This is as frustrating as seeing "Well played" from a player who beats me and I am conceding. I always know it is 100% ironic and even the speech bubble animation is slower because of the other endgame animation.

or 5, youre playing something not fun to play against like res priest, and its not a fun matchup at all and he just leaves because rank is irrelevant
Are you suggesting roping Priest players? The ones who are expecting really long games... You think you're "winning" by "wasting" their time... I don't play Priest, but I LOVE getting roped... I have TONS of work I can do in down time... When I get roped, I rope right back... If the opponent apologizes, and starts playing normally, of course i drop it, but with all of the work research and emails i have to do... The time i have when I've already decided my move is perfect...
If you're going to rope people, you're really only doing something effective if you're playing against Face decks who are in a hurry to finish many games.
Again, I ONLY rope when I'm roped, and only because I'm in no rus... it's a toxic attitude, generally only held by people with few friends... I imagine most people who intentionally rope players just for playing a certain deck or class in a VIDEO GAME are also belong to Incel message boards.
"Your opponent left" rage quit - why ?

5) player sits on a massive 2-3 day downstreak and starts tilting, it happens to almost everyone, card games meant for grinding can be frustrating.

Mobile disconnects plenty often.

same here lol
or maybe OP is just OP lol
Why would someone even wonder why his opponent left. Just take the win.
I rage quit quite often. I usually do so when it’s my last game before I get off and I’m losing badly so I just altf4 because I’m getting off anyways.

Most often than not it's a disconnect... Happens to me A LOT, and I mean like A FUCKING LOT.
i had shit to do, thats why i alt+f4 and left in a hurry
