I'm sure I'm not the only one that have been eagerly awaiting the new solo content and played through it all yesterday. Let's discuss!
I liked the story and how it was told. It seemed much more coherent than Galakrond's Awakening, and better paced. I think it's quite impressive that they introduced five new characters and managed to make us care for them in such a short time (I NEED more Sklibb content - loved how every enemy had a reaction to him when you played him). Also, the sexual tension between Aranna and Illidan was REAL. Daddy Illidan, please teach me your Demon Hunter ways!
The battles was a little too easy, but I still enjoyed them, and it was very flavourful how Aranna's deck changed from a mismatch of Hunter, Rogue and neutral to pure Demon Hunter as she discovered her (class) identity. I hope that the challenges next week will actually prove to be a challenge, though. That's where Galakrond's Awakening were most disappointing IMO, hard mode was not hard at all.
The biggest disappointment was the final battle. It wasn't even a real battle! I at least expected we would have to get Illidan below 20hp or something, but nope, he just suddenly had his epiphany. That was an anticlimactic ending to an otherwise great adventure.
I'm 3 chapters in and I really like it, most of the battles have been really fun and something I'd definitely play again. True, not very hard but I'd rather have it at mediocre difficulty than repeat the rastakhan rumble one with the totems, where games were decided before you even played them, based on the totem the enemy had
From story point of view... It's not as bad as I expected, tho I am still at chapter 1.
They talk to much for my taste. Galakrond was a lot, but this... I wish there was a button to shut them up in match.
That said, I am waiting for that "legendary quest", haven't got it and from stuff i read on forums, it seems that you wont be able to finish it if you already beat chapter 1.
I'm still working through it, but it's told pretty well and the length seems to be pretty decent so far. The challenges thus far haven't blown me away, but they've been clever enough.
The lack of tangible rewards and new cards is the biggest disappointment. It's introducing new characters and some unique cards, but it's a shame the only thing available to earn is a few card packs from the quest and a card back.
It was free, it was fun, so Im not complaining, but...
The solo content should be the big thing between expansions. The dungeon run style solo contents have no new cards so no effect on the meta but they have great replayability. The oldschool-type adventures have no replayability but they have new cards, so they affect the metagame. And we have this third type, like Dr. 7's puzzle lab that have no replayability and no new cards, which is pretty sad. At least the puzzle lab was more challenging and kinda unique since it didnt involve any RNG.
So IMO its the worst solo content so far. Maybe its intented so more people would play battlegrounds which is obviously their priority right now.
I got my card back, It was not bad for sure, much better than Uldum one, that I did not even unlock any additional chapter, because it was boring to play. Though it is much worse than dungeon runs. Also I do not like that I can not change my decks anyhow. I would also like if they would make Battlegrounds PvE adventure, against bosses with stronger than usual hero powers, but that may require a lot more work though.
Well i am not very happy for playing as no-name character. So i don't like their choice of character to play as. But at least we have Illidan to save the day with his rhymes.
Garbage, boring and lacks creativity. Another example of dangling a carrot in front of ones face as long as possible to keep people playing until a new expansion is released. This should have been released within the first month of the expansion at least considering how basic and poor it is.
Problem I'm having is I find the deck I get to play downright horrible. And the few unique cards you get don't even seem to synergize with the deck. Being stuck at playing over and over again that deck is a problem to me...
Just had to revisist my old account to make a comment about most of you , with that weird fked up opinion.
Beyond Bad, Audio wasnr spoken and enemies had nothing to tell, Wooho i had 3 guys joining me a fight what a epic stroy !
Every single Enemy was full of errors and bugs and i still finished this shit and the legendary questline is still bugged and not working.
Sorry but for me its epic hilarious. We had doublegold and stuff but now this shit. But hey most of you Guys got to much money anyway and hearthpwn community is weird since 2 years anyway.... Cant wait for the next teaser of a trailer of a trailer of a trailer just to get unfinished uncreative thrash thrown in the face. Epic thrash, Im not gonna waste money anymore for this shitshow excuse
I played without sound and didn't read the "story". In the last fight out of nowhere i won. Can someone tell me the trigger that made me win? What was my wincondition?

Maybe if you pay attention to dialogue, you wouldn’t be asking this question .
Finished it. The story was good, but the constant rhyming got a bit grating by the end. Was having flashbacks to farming the Headless Horseman's mount in WoW.
The fights were alright, nothing too exciting or unique though, and most were quite easy. There was a lot of dialogue and interactions for certain cards which helped keep things at least a bit interesting.
In the end, the big drawbacks are that it's not replayable and it offers no truly unique rewards, so it just feels superfluous. There's still the Challenge Mode version of it which will maybe be a bit interesting, but compared to Dungeon Runs I doubt there will be much to it.
Generally I see a lack of progression/rewards as the main problem for all of the game's modes outside of ladder. There's just no incentive to play them. Even Battlegrounds, which is fun to play but basically requires you to either handicap yourself or spend an excessive amount of gold or cash to play properly, and then you get nothing tangible back out of it.

i agree there should stay away from makeing shitty solo players things its been shit since dragon runs
I genuinely disliked this solo adventure. The characters were rather uninterresting (except for the orc, I liked him a lot). The constant rhyming got annoying really fast and most fights were waaaaay too easy. I honestly just want another dungeon run style solo adventure...
It was very flavourful how Aranna's deck changed from a mismatch of Hunter, Rogue and neutral to pure Demon Hunter as she discovered her (class) identity.
Quite early on got Haunting Visions from Shalja, Outcast and it let me choose between 3 DH cards. I think that's a nice easter egg to imply that it was within her all along; it had always been her destiny
Also I do not like that I can not change my decks anyhow. I would also like if they would make Battlegrounds PvE adventure, against bosses with stronger than usual hero powers, but that may require a lot more work though.
Good news! Next week you can build your own decks for it.
And what I would want most would be a PVP dungeon-run type thing. But I guess, if that were to ever be introduced (even as a special Tavern Brawl), it would have been during RR
Opportunity cost. How much effort went into this one-and-done adventure that could have went to legit ladder/arena/BG improvements? Game is dying (for me anyway) but they are throwing this boring crap out there.

That's how I feel about latest "solo content".
Don't let your Memes be dreams!
This. 100%.

So other than a card back. Is there really any reason to play it at all?
Grammar is the difference between knowing your crap, and knowing you’re crap.
A .gif is worth a thousand words.

Great job blizzard.. bought the bundle too
