don't know what youre talking about, the meta is preatty good if you ask me. The game has atleast 3 Tier 1 decks and you can have some succes with homebrew decks. I also want to remind you about Pirate warrior and Jade druid which were faaaaar less fun to play against than any deck right now
A deck goes to the psychiatrist. She says "Doc, I feel like my life has become boring and repetitive. Can you help me out?"
The doctor says "Well, I hear that Valeera is in town, the greatest example of Galakrond Rogue around. You should go watch some games, that'll cheer you up."
The deck says "But doctor, I am Valeera the Galakrond Rogue!"
Damn, how come you don't like rngstone with all the super hot discover and random card generation mechanics? I think it's super spicy that game is decided almost exclusively by cards outside your actual deck!
There are more and more threads like this an expansion gets older, the funny thing about this one is that decks are STILL being invited, refined and shifted based on meta changes. I've honestly never seen a more dynamic meta. That being said discover is skillful. Being beaten by it when it is a random highroll does suck, but it's funny that you're surprised, either the play it immediately, sometimes the play it much later, you can still read that and prepare, yet people act as if it's an "unknown" they say it's random and they can't counter, yet since they never looked at it as anything but random they can't actually improve vs. it. They have told their mind, This part of the game is unimportant for me to pay attention to because it's "random".
This "random" meme applies to most baby rage complaints. These people are parishioners for the Renewed Chruch of RNGesus. They believe in the holy trinity, RNGesus the son, The spirit of holy Brode that enters their body when they get good RNG, and the father META who determines who lives and who dies based on his judgement alone., The said thing is that most supplicants don't have true faith in RNGesus and the Spirit of Holy Brode. If they did they would allow Brode to enter their body, the holy spirit would guide them to realize that though things are random there are probabilities. Having faith and trusting in your own intuition to track the intervention of the Spirit of Holy Brode is the only way. Repent!
I'd love to hear how people would define a "good" meta. Normally, folks talk about number of decks/classes that are viable to play to a winning record at high levels of ladder. After the days of pirate warrior, midrange shaman, Raza priest, and Cube lock, we have had a fairly long period where there are lots of different options to play.
It is certainly possible to play one of the infinite value decks, but you can also go for the aggro and midrange beatdown strategies, and there are a few decks which somewhat qualify as combo. Not quite up to Shudderwock comboness, but you have Quest lock and spell druid. I don't know, I'd just be interested to hear the time in Hearthstone you considered the meta to be good/engaging/"insert positive adjective here". And if the answer is NEVER!, then why are you still playing?

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
I can't help but click these to see the shitstorm that usually brews. But there is actually a handful of people who have at least half a brain.
If you truely have such an issue with the meta as it is, do something about it. You might not be able to make the new 'big thing' but you can if nothing else, have a good time, even if its a day or two, and who knows, sometimes you'll luck out and accidentally find a class/list that its insanely strong against these decks you hate so much. I love control, but always hated facing control because nothin digs at me more than spending an hour in a game only to end up losing. I hate aggro decks. But i wont play one just to beat one either. So i just decided to have fun. And along the way i found a deck that smashes on control decks in a way I've never experienced. Its never going to be tier 1(not with the current meta anyway) but it has sure as shit been a better investment of my time. There are more things to HS than finding yourself a meta deck that everyone else uses, and then getting upset because another meta deck that everyone uses, beats you. Especially since its a deck that everyone fucking uses. I would understand a bit of salt when people lose to my list, cause its hard to play around shit that you don't see coming. But when a meta deck discovers, you can typically guess a few of the more likely options. Or play around the options that would make sense, and that could beat you. I don't understand all the discovery hate. You'd prefer that everyone just plays the same lists, with no variance what so ever, so that not only can you play around every single card in their list, but they can yours. That just sounds boring and tedious to me. I've been around for those metas. Rock Paper Scissors, IMHO is so much lamer than what we have now. This meta is far from perfect, of course, but its far from the worst either. This meta allows for a lot of really interesting thngs. I love that i can play, or play against, the occasional deck i've never seen or heard of, and even if i get mollywhopped by it, is that really so bad? Stop playing the same deck as everyone else is playing, and perhaps you wont find yourself so annoyed by the fact that your opponents are discovering 'random' wins against you. Its a hell of a lot easier to discover a useful card when you know what is in the opponents list.
That is all, goodbye
Remember when there was no "Discover" mechanic and unlimited resources/mana cheating every game? These days are gone, now you're playing shitstone.
Yeah, let's make a whole thread about this. Like there is not enough of them.
Det är bättre med en fågel i hand, än tiger i träd!

I think meta is pretty fine except rogue and lackeys. Fuck lackeys and they shouldnt exist
Me? Gongaga.

OP: 10/10. Well written and articulate. Would read again.
edit: Actually, I couldn't control myself. I not only read it again, I read it two more times!
"There is no spoon"
The meta isn't stale, hearthstone is stale.
Shit show indeed, I've stopped playing, I come to Hearthpwn daily in hopes that when the page loads that there are nerfs announced.

There was freeze mage though.

The "Created By" meta
There was actual aggro as well. Is there a deck in the current meta which can reliably kill by turn 6? Not counting pre-pre-pre nerf DH.

I suck at words, so, ignore my ramble. But there might be a tidbit or two of handy dandy info.
