too easy, been play since gadgetzan reach legend maybe 4 time before, after the ladder change i been legend since .take like one week now to reach legend.
If you find it too easy, why not challenge yourself a bit then?
Instead of using a braindead method of netdecking top wr deck and then playing it over and over again till you're bored to death, why not create your own unique deck and try to hit legend with it? I guarantee it to you it will be a super fun experience and even if you don't manage to hit legend with it, you won't feel sad and you certainly won't be complaining about it.
Journey is what brings us happiness, not the destination.
since the grind in legend in my opinion isnt as fun as the rank climbing. I dont feel like playing after hitting legend:(
Funny, for me it is the reverse. I never liked the grind to legend, but once there I like to play a lot and see how high I can get. For me the new system is perfect. Had 11 stars this season and was in legend the first day I played.
Yes, it might be too easy, the geek points rewarded for legend rank has fallen already.
Maybe ending the some of the bonus stars at D10 would be better. The downside is they have Legend specific rewards now, so it would be a dick move to lock that behind an endless wall of grinding.
Also has a lot to do with how much cash you throw down to get all the cards you need. There’s some very good F2P players out there that just lack the right cards...
so, it’s not just a skill thing.
Of course you also need cards , but if you have enough experience you can make it even with a homebrew deck to Legend atm .
Oldguardian always posts f2p deck wich u can get Legend with each expansion... Also the german streamer C4mlann made several new accounts and tried to hit Legend ( in the old system!) , as completely f2p from rank 50 and he made it after 4-6 days( or even faster sometimes).
But even then whiners came up with the argument, well he can do it because he is such a good player... like no s..t . Skill matters way more than money if your goal is simply to reach Legend.
It certainly easier to reach if you hit high ranks before due to higher MMR and bonus stars.
This is good, as it get people back to where they should be faster. This helps keep good and bad players a little more separated. That was the point of the new system.
It’s still a grind for bad or new players and possibly harder depending on bonus stars those players are getting. It’s still quite a grind to reach first time. There are players complaining about MMR rigging who don’t understand MMR systems properly who clearly are finding it more difficult because they are actually facing harder opponents.
Basically if you reached legend regularly in the old system you are meant to reach it easier in this system.
Also remember there a lot of people that have a lot of time on their hands at the moment (lockdowns), causing more people to be playing. More people playing means more stars being added to the system (due to rank floors), meaning bad players are getting higher up, making diamond 5 easier, making D5 to legend (where MMR no longer matters as much) easier for good players to reach legend.
It can be because of new non transparent matchmaking system makes legend easier for someone and harder for other by pairing players with diference of three ranks (legend vs gold players). I experienced both, in legend I was paired with platina players and ripped them into pieces, also I wasn’t able to pass throught diamond 7 because I faced almost only legend players tryhards who were just better then me. It’s not only about mmr, it’s about rank, it shows your current form and attitude. Old system paired you with same ranks so if you and opponent were both rank 1 you were both tryhard, or you decided to stay on rank 5 and play fun decks with other players with same attitude, who wasn’t tryharding.
I find the opposite. Last month, for example, I finished D7, having started with 8 bonus stars, implying I gained 7 ranks (22 stars) without the aid of bonus stars. The result? Eight bonus stars!
So know not only do I have have to play 30 or so games against people of my own mmr just to get back to P5 (when my bonus disappears), but then I have a 22 star hole relative to last month. In the old system I only fell back 20 stars, consistently every month.
PS: My win rate in Diamond last month was 65%. I am time capped, not skill capped, at that rank.
Well, the short answer is yes, legend has become easier to achieve.
However, this is greatly exaggerated. Essentially what has happened is that a lot of the people who were rank 5 regulars in the old system have managed to get to legend. This is because the grind has become much less. Essentially, all of the people who are 'good enough' to hit legend are now able to. In the past, the consensus was if you could hit rank 5 every season with ease, if you grinded enough you would make it to legend. Most people just weren't willing to make that grind.
However, now many less games are required. The star bonus quickly accelerates you to Diamond (Typically 10 or 5), and you only have to have to be 15 games positive from D5, as opposed to the 25 from rank 5.
Essentially, it takes less games to hit D5 then it did to hit rank 5, and it takes less games to hit legend from D5 than it did from rank 5. As such, legend is unmistakably easier to achieve.
HOWEVER: I see lots of players saying 'everyone can hit legend now, its so easy, hurr hurr.' These people are simply incorrect. Bad players are still 'skill capped' at whatever level of play they are. The reason people get stuck in gold, platinum, or diamond is because they aren't skilled enough to climb further. These players will not climb and will not hit legend until they improve.
The difference is that the good players are no longer 'grind capped' (I just made that term up) by the sheer number of games it used to take to hit legend. For 'legend worthy' players who have a positive winrate against other players from D5 to legend, legend is now much easier to achieve. For bad players, it is still impossible.
This is in absolutely no way a bad thing. The game has become less grindy, and everyone should be happy about this.
this is not true... its take alot longer to hit legend/D5 then it take to hit legend/rank 5 befor if you have a 60% win rate.... sure its alot easyer to hit legend now but its not take less time since it take forever to get back to D5 with all this wins to get back befor you need 25 wins now you need 16 + all the win from Bronze 10 to diamind 5 so easy to do the last 5 level sure but not to do the full grid

this guy get it... this new ranking suck so hard you have to play alot more to get legend.... befor 25 wins now you need alot more... sure bad players at 51-57% win rate will have alot easyer time gettting legend but players that do 60-65% win rate will take alot longer time to get back to legend then in old ranking
People complaining about having to grind less in a game...I mean. There's no pleasing everyone, I guess.
This. The gaming community is completely same as those old folks who say "back in my day I used to walk 329797 miles to school"
I think it is a good that we don't have the old ranking system where the grind is 2 times longer from 5 to legend (not counting matchmaking to this). Sure you could argue that this is not a single player rpg or something but a pvp game so the grind should be there. But the issue is that theres so much rng in the game right now. The old ranking system grows worse and worse each time more rng comes out. You win games you shouldn't and you lose games you shouldn't and when the losing part happens a lot it is just a nuisance to grind when you should have been legend ages ago if it was only skill vs skill.
And if you say the rng is 50/50, no it depends what deck YOU are playing. If your deck has minimal rng then the whole rng part is on the opponent which makes it feel even worse when you lose.
For me, if I use DH to climb, legend is easy right now. That's just the power of the class right now. I've done it two months in a row now, so I could play some homebrewed decks at legend.
But I didn't do it this month for one main reason which is that the deck is painfully boring to play. I used Highlander Hunter to climb all the way from B5-D5 on the first day of the month, but am finding it extremely challenging to get to legend this month because of the negative win-rates against DH and Warrior. I guess I'll just wait until June 29th and try to climb to legend without using DH. Then if I don't reach, I'll use DH so that I at least get the star bonus. xD
Legend definitely easier to hit, I am an on and off player from the beginning, but watch more than play, everytime I saw some fun deck I would try it out to make it as far as I could, my best attempt was with OTK Warrior damaged charge or OTK Paladin with 4 horsemen afair, however only to manage to get to level 1 Gold (not sure if I remember it right but its the rank closest to legend) I spent some sleepless nights, nearly got to the 3rd star then drop then get back again then quit after several attempts. This season after watching after nerf no minion Mage, I give it a try, and make it to legend last month with win rate at 56% but this month only 2 days, even with lower win rate than that (49% when I got it) I manage to break in legend. Not sure because of the deck or the new scheme but it sure feel much less stress and frustration :)).
The only thing I complain about is the star bonus not matching the previous rank if you finish low legend or D5 (the best I usually get). This results in a complete loss of time regaining the previous rank and another absurd grind for the legend, because let's even remove the win streak bonus for added fun.

You say legend is easier to get but people here can't stop bitching about how Blizzard is rigging their RNG to stop them from getting out of bronze.

I dunno, I haven't reached legend since they reversed all nerfs. Opponent decks are hard to beat.
But before this I reached legend multiple times without even trying, I just didn't lose much with my homebrew decks.
But I guess its easy to reach legend if you play only with top decks that are buffed or typical secret mage trash decks.
Kinda yes, but you have to play meta deck to get there... boring.
