I know all match ups are different and their is no right or wrong answer here but I am curious to get some peoples input on when to use Hunter card Tracking.
I've seen people use it turn 1 but I disagree. I always use it when I absolutely have to in hopes to pull a tech card or anything to help my board, board clear etc etc
Feel free to share your thoughts and what works for you.
It's probably fine to use turn 1 if you're sure what deck archetype you're up against. If you know that, you know which cards you're most likely to need in the coming turns. Normally though, I don't play it on turn 1.
If I believe I know what deck type I'm playing against I'll sometimes use it on turn 1 because it can increase the consistency of my draw and get me closer to my good draws such as Zephrys in highlander, or rotnest against certain decks, or weapon against other decks, or explosive trap against demon hunter etc. . It really depends on the matchup.
Really depends on your deck. I'm running a Boaring combo deck most of the time, so I drop it T1 if I have it (and no scav in hand), as I gain massively from hitting Scav before both boars. If I'm playing a wild control hunter? Then I only Tracking when hunting for pieces of boardwipe, basically, or if my deck is somehow full of bombs. If I'm playing Wild MalyHunt? Then only after I have enough combo to not autolose to tracking.
using it turn 1 is not good. You have to use it when you absolutely have to top deck an answer, then the hearthstone gods may 'magically' grant your prayer.
You can use it on turn 1 if your hand is garbage for the first few turns, like Tracking, Rotnest and Kill Command. You track to find a play for the next two instead of relying on a top deck.

Lanko is right. While Tracking is not something I would keep in the mulligan, if it's in your hand T1 and you don't have a better play, and in particular if you don't have a T2 play, then it is perfectly fine to track on T1.
Spending mana = good. Finding tempo = good.
