Let the Snooze fest begin, we have a priest meta. Facing so many Priests between Bronze and Diamond, it's not even funny.
And they ALWAYS take so much time for the easiest turns. And no, Galakrond Priest is not a hard to play, I'd say you have to think more when playing DH as you need your outcast effects...
Heal, removal, heal, removal, resurrect annoying minion, taunt, removal, and the cycle goes on and on. Ah, and then they proceed to kill you with your own cards. Icing on the cake. Especially resurrecting the 2/6 deathrattle taunt is straight up ridiculously strong vs. most decks. Sometimes an instant win.
I made a post some weeks ago regarding that matter, but I didn't think that it would be THAT annoying.
Also, what's up with all these Rogue players nowdays, it's on par with the amount of priest players, maybe even worse. Nonstop lackeys+discoveries, so healthy for the game.
The Standard meta right now feels tedious, annoying and I already feel like not playing anymore. Where are the hype games, where is the entertainin stuff. Seems like most of the stuff they added this year seems kinda off (i know the community is looking at the DH class).
I never liked Priest as a class, but now I begin to hate it and feel disgust when I meet them when laddering. Sometimes I just concede, because who wants to sit there waiting 30 min to MAYBE win but even then you're feeling awful and like you completely wasted your life time.
Galakrond Priest makes up roughly 9% of the decks played on ladder, it's a popular deck, but both Tempo Demon Hunter is played more with roughly 18%, and so is Galakrond Secret Rogue with its 12%. Warrior and Hunter also make up a larger % of the ladder when combining all of their archetypes and comparing it to all Priest archetypes.
Losing to Sire Denathrius makes me not want to play this game anymore. The Sire Denathrius nerf makes me want to play this game again. Losing to Deathrattle Rogue makes me not want to play this game anymore. The Prince Renathal nerf makes me not want to play this game anymore.
I just went 14-5 with a HL Hunter Deck. Surprisingly Beastmaster Leoroxx was a star. I'll post the deck code and results when I get a chance.
5-0 against DH. 2-2 vs Priest. 3-2 vs Rogue.
Before I started playing it I was stuck at rank 10D. I tried all sorts of variations of decks. Kept losing to DH and Priest for the same reasons you said. Priest is just stupid to play against.
Then there's Druid. They expect that it will take a while to figure out a deck like that, but there it is.
I think NoHands Warrior is strong. I just didn't feel like playing it.
Priest and Galak Rogue are just stupid level value decks. It has been like this for a long time.
Hopefully Shaman will get better. Paladin and Mage too. They are just a half step behind everyone else.
Overall this season, in 133 games, I've faced 28% DH (all but one were Tempo DH), then 13% Hunters (mixed between Face, Dragon, Highlander), 13% Priest (almost all Gala), 12% Rogue, 11% Reno Mage, 8% Warrior, 7% various Warlocks (Quest, Zoo, Gala) and very few Druids, Shamans, Paladins. So not even close to a Priest meta. Most of the games where in the D5-Legend range and if I noticed any trend in the last week that was fewer Rogues and more Warriors. But Priest where on average 1 out of 7-8 matches
Priest might be strong because warriors will be running around still because the nerfs did not hit them one bit. The games that the warrior nerfs would impact on would be less than 1%. You can treat warrior as not having been nerfed but actually being buffed. The nerfs to DH will maybe effect 5% of games or so, if they even keep running priestess. The meta will remain unchanged save for rogue might run a stealth list and fall a bit more out of the meta.
I am not sure though why they gave a lip service nerf to warrior. If you wanted to nerf that build you would need to make rampage 2/2 instead of 3/3 or make inner rage cost 1 mana.
Priest is annoying because if you don’t have silence or hard removal, they can shut you out of a game. That’s a frustrating experience. But they still seem hugely outnumbered by DH, Hunter and Rogue in the meta, so if 10% of your games are priests, that’s not so bad. It’s just that those games last long and stick out in your mind because they’re so frustrating.
Not as frustrating IMO as a draw-everything DH or Rogue, but still frustrating.
Galakrond priest is far less frustrating than galakrond rogue. Priests are suppose to have heal and control tools with value. Deal with it. But rogue is suppose to be a tempo class not a value/control class .

Thing is that Shadowstep enables Rogues to go into several directions. Same as during the Tombs event they Shadowsteped Nzoth multiple times and became an unbeatable Control deck.

Just lost a game to Rogue having not only lethal on board vs empty field, but also burst from hand. Overall I think I was like 10 dmg over lethal if they didn't clear anything. But then 0 cost cards, lakeys, randomly generated cards - typical Rogue bullshit - came into play and I ended up with empty board and no lethal, while he was threatening his vs me.
Worked entire game to setup lethal, had more cards in both hand and on the field, separately and combined. Everything went to shit with one turn.
I have to agree with you on this. I am a fan of control decks, but Galakrond Priest (and Ressurect Priest too) is just boring and not as demanding as my favs are. Take Highlander mage for example, you genuinely have to think a lot to succeed and that's what's so cool about control decks, but Gala Priest is just "minion -> clear -> minion -> clear". Believe me, long games can be fun, but playing against a s*th that clears all you have and heals better than Raza/Reno Priest in wild is not fun at all.

From Priest you at least now what to expect.
Yeah, but this exactly what makes Priest the most boring class. You alway know what to expect. A lot of randomness is frustrating, but having 0 randomness is just as bad. Yeah, Galakrond invoke effect gives them a random minion, but you know somehow even this is juts way too predictable. Maybe I am the strange one here, but I don't like consistensy, I love when some unexpected sh*t happens, even when I loose. Maybe playing the game since it's release in 2014 made me kinda' not care about winning or losing, but anyway, this is just my opinion so others are not obligated to understand.
I understand you but priest is not very strong but he is very annoying. I don't understand blizzard's philosophy on this class, it's just frustrating and boring to play. All of its archetypes are very tedious to fight. Personally I have defeated more priests in standard for the value I put in my decks as a plan B. It is also because I do not play aggro decks because they are very bad confrontations against priest.
The real problems in priest cards are resurrection cards, AOE, and lots of low mana heals.

Res effects are BS...far too cheap, and priest gets mininos that snowball hard if rezzed on the cheap. Everything else is fine IMO, i have no problem facing priest controlling, stealing, clearing or generating value - I feel like that is what they should be doing.

Hey. =)
I agree, it’s almost as wasteful as taking the time to complain about it online.

Just play rogue if you’re being berated by priest.
I’ve been playing d5+ and don’t see that many priests. Hunters Rogue DH

Percentage of decks I faced on ladder on my way to Legend (180 Games - Americas between 5/2 & 5/13):
Demon Hunter - 31.11%
Druid - 3.89%
Hunter - 12.22%
Mage - 5.56%
Paladin - 3.89%
Priest - 7.22%
Rogue - 18.33%
Shaman - 1.11%
Warlock - 7.22%
Warrior - 9.44%
Maybe you're just unlucky, but reeks of confirmation bias to me.

Priest loses every game vs hunter and rogue. Just play hunter and win all those games within 6 turns. I don't see the issue here
