I've tried several control decks, like galakrond priest, quest priest, highlander mage and such. They work great against the other aggro classes like hunter and warlock, but demon hunter feels like they just have too many tools, and they never run out of resources.
Maybe after the nerfs it will be a bit easier to deal with Demon Hunter's tempo plays. For now it seems that you just can't answer to his consistency and that's what makes Tempo DH a very good deck. Well, we will see how this changes after the patch.
I can see Highlander Mage being weak against it, but not priest. Other classes have no problems with dealing with DH, even mage should handle it pretty easy.
Maybe you're using aoe spells too early. Gotta be greedy here and there to get more value out of it.
I've found that handlock and priest generally do alright to be honest. Mulligan for removal and if they don't get the nuts in their draw then it can be a really frustrating game for the DH. I see a lot of ooze these days and that's probably a good idea to include as well because it can really set them back, especially if they aren't playing around weapon removal.
Warrior does really well against it. If you're constantly coming up against DH then maybe teching in more AoE and freezes as mage and ditch the highlander package but you'd really need to playing against DH most games because it would probably struggle against a lot of other decks.
I have a positive win rate against DH and find it's mainly a real struggle when they draw incredibly well, but then so are a few other classes as well.
DH isn't this unbeatable machine, it's a good, aggressive class and is getting yet another nerf. This nerf will either hit it quite hard and threads will be spammed complaining against the next 2/3 strongest decks or it won't work and threads will be spammed complaining about DH and then the next 2/3 strongest decks as well.
Most control decks want to remove minions until opponents run out of fuel and then start playing their own minions and win by value. But DH will never run out of fuel with the insane amount of card draw the devs give it and they will always pressure control decks. This being said, the only reason warrior beats DH is because they can play big minions, clear board and gain a bunch of armor at the same time.
Maly Quest Warlock does pretty well against DH. You easily heal for 30+ per game and clear the board a few times before tempoing down an Alex or using a Maly combo for the win.
There used to be a trade off when playing aggro: you’d run out of steam if you didn’t kill your opponent fast enough. For DH, they added “draw a card” to every single card in the class, so you no longer have that drawback. Sure, they can nerf some ridiculously overpowered cards to try and mitigate things, but until they take ‘’draw a card” off of everything in the class, look out. Something else to consider: next expansion - nobody will want the cards unless they make the decks better. What could make DH better? If they try to buff other classes to catch up to DH, presumably they will also have to print some garbage for DH that will never be played. I’m guessing DH players can skip the next expansion... or maybe there will be crazy power creep in every class... it will be interesting to see!

Anybody else noticed this?
Like it matters look at these lovely nerfs coming in. Likely will help alot

DH was already falling of the highest tier in the meta and on top of that they added more nerfs. DH was no longer a top deck for like last 2 weeks. Enrage Warrior and Hunter did a very good job at making it fall one tier lower. Now they will nerf the class even further.
Yes, DH is a strong class, one of top 4 strongest. But one of four means almost "in a better half". There are some decks which directly counter it and some, which are objectively better (perform better across the board). And now it will get nerfed.
Yeah, totally, other classes need to catch up. Rogue and Hunter especially I presume?
The issue with DH is the insane amount of card draw they have. Usually, control decks will play defensively and remove stuff until the aggro deck runs out of cards in hand (and they most likely concede). But DH doesn't suffer from the same problem. They have card draw for every situation and one of the cards apply a big discount on their already cheap cards. Add to the mix a card that destroys your board and your face at the same time and a card that prevents you from protecting yourself with taunts (and the whole purpose of taunt is to prevent charge) and you have the perfect aggro deck that doesn't care about your control tools because they will always find a way to kill you.
Too much exaggeration and hyperbole in this thread to even try to have a reasonable discussion.
They don't have card draw on every card. They don't have infinite resources. They don't always find a way to win.
The opposite to this would be someone saying that DH has zero card draw, can't ever win and can't generate any resources at all. If someone said that, you would call them an idiot, rightly so. So then don't do the exact opposite and nullify any opportunity to discuss it.
DH has definitely been knocked down a peg and is in danger of slipping a further tier if the nerfs end up too strong. We will see how these nerfs go, but priestess is much, much easier to deal with now.
Maly Quest Warlock does pretty well against DH. You easily heal for 30+ per game and clear the board a few times before tempoing down an Alex or using a Maly combo for the win.
I saw Thijs and Trump playing this and also wanna try, too. It looks good and budget :P~~~
Just that it is more like a burst dmg deck on face, instead of controlling the broad.

Some of that is the fact that DH's tools haven't gotten nerfed or HOF'd yet. Not really.
The busted **** everyone else used to do is kinda gone right now: Divine Favor, Starving Buzzard (used to be a 2 mana 2/1!), Doomguard, Power Overwhelming.
The way demon hunter class is I always feel warrior will be tier 1. If dh is not top tier warrior won't be top tier too.
After the nerfs it shall be easier to deal with DH so... Hope in nerfs ;p
Let none survive!

It was called sacrficial pact, and it was supposed to tide us over until they print a replacing neutral demon hate card in the next expansion.

What? Any half-decent control deck can manage a barrage from DH. Just wait for them to burn out and then start dropping your big minions.
not touching this.....I already got a thread locked and was sent a threat from the locker......guess he likes to play DH
Warrior is great against Warlock/Mage/Hunters too. This is just one of many games i played Enrage Warrior to legend:
