I play HS since beta and never since the introduction of the second ranking system and the legend rank itself it was so easy to reach... the third System makes Legend to a joke. I had to play until Legend 1000 to get this feeling of challenge I love so mutch in this game.
What do you think, is the new System better? Did I get extremly lucky? What is your opinion?
I think it's fine. It is easier to hit legend and it seems like many more people are making it into legend. I believe it's almost 100,000 people on NA at this point.
BUT - that also encourages deck diversity... I hope. If your only goal is making legend then you might be willing to mess around in legend with new ideas.
If you want high legend (top 1000? top 5000?) you can play the standard nonsense to get there.
I'd rather feel like the grind to legend is less brutal each month.
I don't complain because hit legend give a legendary card, being easy is a godsend for new players, the climb for who don't have a huge collection don't feel like climbing the Everest anymore.
I'am in between "Joke now" and "still somewhat time consuming if you get unlucky at Diamond 5-1"
a joke because if you want to get really far, and I mean really far you can't actually reach Legend Top 1000 let alone Top 50 anymore unless you get on a super insane Winning streak, I guess something around 80% winrate is required nowadays, to blast through that thick Mass of 50k+ Legendary ranked players, and every loss in between can be considered fatal.
Also it can still take a bit to get to Legend from Diamond 5, yes its much easier and faster than before, but a Dryspell shouldn't be underestimated still. It took me almost 3 weeks to reach Legendary for my first time, haven't played daily though, and not as intense as many others, as I have more important shit to take care of.
Once at Legend rank, it is pretty much "yea whatever" now. Not even worth to continue climbing to the "Top of the mountain".
It's clearly easier but it still isn't just a gimme. I also agree that its good for diversity because people can hit legend and then meme around and experiment. It's great for the game.
This whole new system is a joke. It feels like they took the casual mode and put it in ranked with meaningless rank floors. YOu can't even see the opponent's ranks if you are not in legend. why have a ranked mode anyway? I get countless friend requests from people that want to check out my rank. What so special about legend if everyone can reach it? Feels like in the schools where kids can't pass the exams, they just lower the passing grade.
No one asked for a complete overhaul of the ranking system except to improve the rewards for reaching the rank floors.
I dont understand what its bad about It, if you want to play with better players climb more on legend, thats all. If you want to play with the BEST get to It.
The example you said I am lengend 1000. Thats nice you can do it, but people that is good at the Game and does not have many time they also deserve to be legend.
It is not just... When more time you have , more rank
I guess you still need a strong deck and all the cards that come with it and have to invest a certain amount of time to play a certain amount of games until you get there. I am kinda missing the motivation after reaching Legend, because I don't really care if I am rank 1.000 or 10.000
It's less time-consuming of a grind so it's more accessible. And there's actually a reason to get to Legend now with the new rewards. Most people stopped at R5 before for the Golden Epic. Even if they could get to Legend what's the point in spending all that time grinding against other netdecks for hours and hours just for a card you don't care about? Starting from R10 it was mostly netdecks anyways.
Getting to R5 to Legend was never about difficulty or challenge. It's mainly just how much time out of your life you dedicated to it. In my opinion it wasn't so much that people can't but rather because they don't want to. Because there's no point. No one cares about an extra Golden Rare when you need to spend hours just for one.
Now they made it so you need less time and actually give a (slightly) better reward so more people are trying. Check again next month when everyone already has their free Legendary. Probably still more people than before but less than this month.
They are rigging rng to decrease number of people who is reaching legend after diamond 5 you will win one game lose one game more often because of rng. After reaching legend it is easier because they lift the curse. Also it is easier to reach legend early hard to reach at the end of the month
You needed a ton of time and 51% win rate to reach legend. It didn't take skill, anyone could net deck any tier 1 or 2 deck and go at it and even if they were the worst player on earth, they'd reach legend, given enough time. The difference now is that you don't have to waste that much time in it, while, on the other hand, if you're an extremely good player you'll face better opponents and climb quicker when at legend.
I'd like to say I don't understand what people find to whine about (do you really care about """legend status""" in hearthstone? Seriously?) but yeah, I get it. I still think it's silly. It's not the ceiling that's lower, it's the floor that's higher.
The system is a bit easier and a lot of people are quarantined right now. Time is one of the biggest factors in hitting legend, and right now people have a lot of time.
But I don't feel like my personal legend achievement is belittled by more people hitting it. If you're competitive, just push for high legend.

In this system even big casuals can get legend easily. Imo it is too easy now.
I don't complain because hit legend give a legendary card, being easy is a godsend for new players, the climb for who don't have a huge collection don't feel like climbing the Everest anymore.
It's easier no doubt about that. I for one do not think that is a bad thing

Yes, it is even worse than a joke.

And did you care with the old system about your legend rank?I think its same as before
Legend was never really a test of skill anyway, it's just a grind. And I'm happy that you have to grind less.

i thought reaching legend rank couldn't get easier after the release of Galakrond shaman in the last expansion. i was sadly mistaking.
Imho it's due to the quarantine.
Yes it's a bit easier but the fact that there are thousand of people at home all the day make the difference.
And also the top tier dh deck is super aggro and you can climb fast and all use it so also the matches are faster imho
This is a hot take that is probably very true

Yea sure, just saying how it feels to me right now
