You visit blizzard HQ once and they say....Hey there, random guy, come change the balance of our game: you can only change card effects/manacosts and (no quests or DK because all classes Need to have them for flavour) remove them, they stop you of you start removing too many.
What do you do?
I personally (wild player, but i'd like to hear standard players too) would:
-REMOVE coldlight Oracle (wither, rot and die mill bull****)
-Mage quest: same requirement, gives: 5 mana spell: 1 time next time you lose the game....It goes back 2 turns....obviously u don't have this card again (maybe changed to: goes back to your turn...2 turns ago, idk what would be Better) edit<actually,After thinking about It,even this giving you the reward card back MIGHT be ok...After 2 turns It would be completely gone anyway and with the others changes destroyng solitair decks I don't even think It would be that oppressive since the mage could stall...but you wouldn't be under the "oh fk,if I don't kill him in X amount of turns i lose" kind of pressure that Is SO much fun to play vs...>
-kel'thuzad: battlecry resummon your Minions that died last turn
-baku/genn: same effect + all your non even/odd cards in deck cost 1 more (so the effect triggers regardless)
-tinkmaster overspark: same effect but u choose the minion that gets transformed
-REMOVE:benedictus,elisyana (or however you write It) academic espionage, gang up (any "add >1 card to your deck" to summarize)
-buff some aggro and midrange cards to avoid complete control takeover (sry, not playing these Styles Means i don't really know what specifically would be good )
I definetly missed many,MANY cards i would do something about and I didn't include others (e.g mecha'thun, maly, dirty rat,Velen, deathlord, the 4mana 3/8 that summons from the opponent's deck, some more resurrect cards...the list goes on) because...well i Just came up with the idea of this post so i had no time to figure stuff out
Just to clarify...i would change all the disruption cards once the "fk you, I win" ones (you know... OTKs,infinite and similar) are out the picture
Let me know what YOU would do,what you think and all that stuff
(Also remember, this Is Just some lighthearthed theorizing,no Need to get upset/aggressive or anything)
Ez choice actually, remove preordering and priest/mage class. Problem solved.
Why would you remove pre-ordering when it's the cheapest way to buy a lot of packs? The normal bundles Blizzard offers are rip-offs in comparison.
The cheapest way to get packs is to play game. Preordering isnt equal supporting devs, this being said team would put in much more work into removing bugs and balancing game so people can actually play it.
I feel like you don’t really understand the effects some of these nerfs/removals would have on the game. Coldlight Oracle isn’t just used for Mill decks, it’s a cheap draw option for classes that don’t get much draw. With your suggested changes, Kel’Thuzad would be the same as High Inquisitor Whitemane. Elysiana already got nerfed and sees no play, Benedictus sees very little play, Academic Espionage sees no play except in fun meme decks, Gang Up sees no play since Patches got nerfed. Most OTK decks are very hard to play, requiring large amounts of setup. Baku and Genn would be ridiculous with your suggested changes. Imagine Even Shaman getting Flametongue and Zilliax and Healbot, while Odd Paladin gets Level Up, Silver Sword, etc. the cards you want removed aren’t a problem in wild, and Tinkmaster would just be a better neutral polymorph. There’s no reason to remove meme cards you lost to once and got salty about.

(it's still me,the OP, for some reason on my computer it doesn't let me log the same account as my phone)
first of all, it's sad that you are the first one that actually responds after like 8 comments
secondly benedic/elisyana/gang up/espionage (and also coldlight oracle) are not op (in fact i don't really think any of the ones i listed are) but the thing is that slapping them into a random deck that can play them to some extent (though honestly...it just needs some degree of survivability) makes your deck completely invalidate any sort of slow/value centric deck wich is complete bs....EXPECIALLY considering that they are almost utter garbage anywhere else and that is just bad design if you ask me. but if invalidating something while getting HARD fucked by everything else is fun for you......ok (also OTKs are not that hard to play exept maybe vs super high pressure decks...and everyone has trouble vs those)
I kind of agree on the baku/genn thing but I sincerely thought the powerlevel of wild + the 1 more mana cost would keep it in check (expecially for aggressive/tempo decks a 1 turn delay is usually pretty brutal)
also i suggested the removal of the "add >1 cards to your deck" cards because as much as i love long games...they need to be decided by fatigue...going THAT long is just not fun, even i hated the cw mirrors with Elisyana on both decks. While stuff like Elise (un'goro) is good since 1 card is not that much
tinkmaster would not be strictly better than poly (the 5/5 can definetly fk u up) but i get what you are saying
kel'tuzad would be better than Whitemane because it would resummon the board your opponent just cleared
finally coldlght is just toxic in every way (mill is in itself, it's rng on very low counterplay that hard punishes playing "big" cards and gets fucked by low cost cards) and there are better sources of neutral card draw so don't come up with weak excuses
(what about mage quest tho? it was the one i was most interested about...it keeps the flavour of time manipulation,it is still a powerful effect but this time you don't get to win just for playing it and allows both players to interact with the effect )

remove demon hunter and all the rng from mage so their players can use their brains to win

Before hitting "play" button, add 1 class, you don't want to be matched with.
I honestly wouldn't nerf anything, but would choose to buff old legendary cards/archetypes that never really took off.

Remove rigged Matchmaking and rigged RNG
