So I had some troubles with the internet today - the connection was very poor and I wanted to use a spare moment to complete quests. So I jumped to Casual just not to loose ranks out of silly disconnections.
First 4 games - Res Priest, DH (recognized the build from HSreplay), Spell Druid, DH.
So after this I just wanted to see how the casual meta generally looks - so I played some more games, not really caring about wins. Just to see decks.
1. Highlander Mage
2. DH
3. Res Priest
4. Big Druid
5. Res Priest
6. Res Priest (yeah, at this point I didn't wanted to play anymore, even though I couldn't care less about w/l - it simply was a pain to even play).
7. Spell Mage
8. DH
9. Big Druid
10. Res Priest
11. DH
12. DH
13. Galakrond Warlock (I was surprised this was the first one, since the deck is so good against DH - but I guess it is due to nerfs)
14. Big Druid
18 games: 5 x Res Priests, 6 x DH, 4 x Druid, 2 x Mage, 1 x Warlock
Based on HSreplay stats: 77,8% Tier 1 Decks, 22,2% Tier 2 Decks, NO Tier 3 or below decks
I am not frustrated, because I play mostly ladder. I got used to facing such opponents. But I am genuinely curious - are there any dedicated casual players, who legitimately see casual decks? Fun decks, lower tier decks, gimmick decks, budget decks? Anything apart from meta?
Yes, I am aware my sample size is ridiculously small - that's why I am even making the thread, because I want to know opinions of people, who actually do play some casual.
A few hours ago i accidentally played a game in casual mode. I ran into a Murloc Shaman, sooo not too long ago a saw a non Meta-Deck in casual. But yeah mostly its Rezz Priest Im facing there.
What’s fun to you is not always what’s fun to others. Flat out winning is fun to many people; just steamrolling their opponents. Meme decks and funny games where you have a <30% win rate is not fun to many people. There will always be these disparities in preference.

I met a guy yesterday that crushed me with what seemed a really cool Shaman totem-based deck. I was playing a fun/meme deck myself (Boar Hunter) and drew really badly, while he drew some wombo combos early (don't remember exactly what he played, for sure Totemic Reflection on an EVIL Totem, but there were some other cool totem synergies going on. Props to him!
Other non meta decks I met recently... there was this paladin running both murlocs and libram packages and it seemed to somehow work, and also a pirate warrior.
This is not a salt thread.

The other day I saw a warrior deck who obviously had the "play 6 weapons" quest. I let him finish his quest and concede :)
Might have been the 'Play 25 Murlocs' quest...
I play vs a control warrior with secret rogue, I lost but was a very fun game.
I mean, I play Highlander Priest. Not sure if that's meta compared to rez priest, but I enjoy it.
But yeah, there are still a lot of embiggen druids and spell mages out there now.
I did that the other day 6 wepones than conceded, could of been me.

I don't face meta decks at all in casual, maybe 1 or 2 in 10. then again, I don't play much casual.
Pretty much every time I play, because I don't normally use meta decks.
