I never feel like i lose because i got outplayed, it always comes down to who draws better and gets better minions or spells from RNG generation effects. It is a serious problem and I'm only back on Hearthstone until LoR's new content releases at the end of April. Then this game goes right back in the trashcan.

Aggro player I suppose. We'll, I'd rather have an RNG-heavy meta where game swinging turns might come out of nowhere every turn than a boring "consistent" one that plays out always the same. Would you go back to the days of pirate warrior, Jade druid, mid-range shaman or quest rogue?!? I certainly wouldn't. It's a fricking CCG! I f you want consistency go play chess.
Although you're going to get blasted for this op and you are being whiny, I think there's some truth to what you speak. There's a lot of cheese and "created by". Sometimes it feels like no matter how much you prepare, your opponent high rolls out of nowhere and you lose.
I don't know why everyone hates RNG, it is a huge skill factor. Ok, I know this may sound dumb, but think about it. Every card in HS that involves RNG has some form of decision making in it. You can always think about the best and worst result and then decide wether it's worth it or not.
RNG is also the main reasons why each game feels different from eachother, without it every matchup would always play the same and would more often decide wether you win or you loose. That is also one of the reasons why I never got into Runterra

It is ok. Bad players usually don't feel like they got outplayed. They instead come here, miss the salt thread and spam the forum.

RNG is fun 100% but nothing to do with skill, the only true skill needed is to get tricked by game desing and funboys and croos that line, meaning that playing more you develope skills and improve.
SKILL: noun
the ability to do something well; expertise.
"difficult work, taking great skill"
how do i expertise in card drawing and all those rng mechanics?
There is a referance about chess in this thread, involes the word consistency.....deep!

So, the top Hearthstone players, streamers and CONSISTANT tournament winners are not doing it well? Are they just consistantly luckier than everyone else? Obviously, there is a massive amount of luck in the game (as so many other games), and the skill comes into play for those who use discover mechanics, board presence, existing mechanics, knowledge of what cards are left in their deck, and probability of cards in their opponents decks, along with a ton of other variable to manipulate these chances in their favour.
Otherwise, there would be no "top players". Rankings would be relatively random every month. That's why players settle at ranks. There comes a point where no number of games will get you any higher, as you don't have the ability to work thr variables to your favour enough to get any further, or getting further would take playing an unreasonable amount of games with a mundane winrate.
I'm not a good Hearthstone player. I accept that. I have fun playing around Rank 5 (in old ladder), and I'm comfortable with that. When I played poker consistantly however, this was always the argument of losing players. "No skill, all luck" or "the game is rigged"... There's no way they could just be bad at the game, because for some reason they take that as an attack on their intelligence (ability, or inability to manipulate odds in your favour is a skill that differs in every element it's used. A great poker player might not be good at Hearthstone, and vise versa. Being a genius also doesnt mean you're a great chess player. These games have learned and adapted skills)
I'm not comparing Hearthstone to any other game. The games I've mentioned differ in many, many ways, I'm simply explaining, a game of "pure luck" doesn't have consistantly top players. The weekly lottery doesn't have the same 5 people winning several times a year, every year, because that is, in fact, pure luck, with no ability to manipulate your odds other than buying more tickets.

Usually you got outplayed and you just dont see it.

its a matter of naming thing for me.It is an abillity to focus and memorize and take chances.
skill is dynamic, its development and progress, improvment, applying it to a GAME like this, is kind of devaluation of the word.
bllizard and heavy commited players in the other hand will always argue with such acknowledgement.
Top players and streamers will always justs proves that engagment is what matters most, like most of the video games today.
For sure one '''''''skill''''''' i developed through the years is to recognise a BOT placed as opponent to balance my winrates....push me to buy more packs or feel that im really good and should keep going cause im ranking higher!!!!
...im so bored most of the times leading them to fatigue and thats how im so sure it was another Bot
RNG affects your short term win rate but not your long term. This is how poker pros exist. The short term luck keeps the bad players coming back because they don't realize they are losing while the pros continue to grind. Games with less RNG and higher skill cap such as draw poker are not as popular because the bad players get cleaned out faster.

Very well said sir, thats why i keep saying a silver-gold-platinum player is not a bad player but a player who gets bored faster, thank you.

Don't you find it amusing how fast they try to shut down any conversation of game mechanics that is not favorable.

That is some really hardcore cope and denial but whatever makes you happy I guess.

So you say Hearthstone is currently better than LoR? Great.
Bye

Been loving RNG Spell Mage. Most fun I’ve had in years with HS. It’s a game of rng, please accept and move on. Without it, it’s bland.

It's called a rigged rng, it's in place to keep the winrates in check.

Why don't you start playing chess? It's one of the few games without rng.. Only skill.
