You have to know when to use counter cards. If you don't play counter reactive, these losses will happen to you. Realize that your opponent needs to prepare to be able to do such combo's to you.
Altruis the Outcast is a balanced card. Remember that it's a legendary card and if you think about it it's not really overpowered for a legendary. It requires a specificall setup in the player's hand and almost never lives more than 1 turn. If you had no way to deal with 2 HP it's probably a matter of bad draw or bad deck. Consider including some more board clears if you encounter this problem often.
3 Mana 3-2 that requires the suitable cards on left and right side of your opponent's hand . If he has the Nuts in hand, then he has the Nuts in hand, its just the same with any other of the better decks that require combo.
Hes more often than not tho a completely dull play early on as you hate playing it as a blank Tempo Vanilla on Turn 3 but often left without a choice.
The card itself is not the problem. It's the amount of low cost spells DH has, which also draw or put a copy at the side of your hand. I think if twin slice wouldn't put the copy of twin slice at the right side of your hand, the problem would already be a little easier to live with. Other people react that it needs setup, but let's be honest, it's not really hard to setup... i played DH and altruis can be abused because of this. It's easily 5 - 6 damage to the enemy his board and face.
That said, i dont think it's actually a big problem. It should never live longer than 1 turn tho xD

It doesnt require a specific setup. It requires u to be a demon hunter. The outcast requirement is almost nonexistent, not important - with all the skul of guldan, eyuebeam, drawing 6 cards and 0 mana spell shenenigans.
I also find this card very unfair. We had many legendaries that dealt 1 dmg with some condition, none of them was even close to the powerlevel. I wouldnt change the mechanic or stats, however damage should be dealt to ALL minions, hence u dont want to play ur minions or u cant clear ur opponent and burst

Verdict: TOTALLY balanced, man.
Yeah but I'm definitely not the only one that keeps seeing this play. The "nuts" isn't that hard to come by when you get discounts from skull and keep drawing the low mana outcast cards over and over...its absurd. It shouldnt be able to hit face.

The more I think about it, you're probably right. The card itself isn't that bad, but when combined with all the low cost discounted cards it can be just outright dirty. Either way something's gotta give.

Well, I have to agree with you that Altruis indeed could be nerfed to dealing damage only to minions, and not the opponent's face, but my reasoning is a bit different. Let's remember that Altruis is from the classic (or initiate but it's the same) set and most classic legendaries are very so so at the moment. Blizzard probably likes this, as the new classic legendaries they released - Natalie Seline and Brightwing are also not so op. Altruis will maybe stay with us forever and it can't be meta-defining for all of his existance. I don't know what they want to do with the intiate set, but they clearly stated that they want to see how it works with players and then change it. My guess is that Altruis will be rotated to the hall of fame and they will leave us with the legendary dragon, but I could be wrong. For now we have to somehow deal with Altruis and hope they will improve the situation in the future 😉
If you damn cry babies get this nerfed as well I swear I’ll never forgive you.
Should I make a list of broken Rogue cards?
Or Druid's. Or Warlock's. Oh and btw no one seems to be talking about it, but Warlock's Galakrond got indirectly buffed by DH's demons being in the pool now.
The activating requirement is easier than I thought at first, but I'm fine with that. I think the stats and mana cost are also fine, a 3/2 that can only enter play from turn 2-3 onwards is usually not going to last more than a turn in play.
What I don't like as much is the fact that it deals face damage, I think that's just a bit unnecessary (DH has enough reach already). It reminds me of pre-nerf Blade Flurry, which was too powerful.
I guess it's not that broken in Tempo/Aggro DH, but it does feel disgusting in OTK DH.
So - I was on the fence about him for a bit, but I think he definitely needs tweeked. The number of times he can simultaneously wipe the board and do a ton of face damage is just stupid. He's a two mana card that can easily be played alongside 4 or 5 cards, particularly when skull of gul'dan gets played and they have pizza slices in hand...

<clap clap> I totally agree.
EVERY1 who claims that this card is not the problem, I would like to remind u of patches. Ppl said that patches is not the problem - 'its the other cards that kill you' they argued. Its a very narrowminded view of the game and how u build ur deck. Altruis is a must have, just as patches was a musthave in warrior, rogue, shaman, control warlock and every signle deck that wanted to win
Just played a game where I couldnt get rid of it and it did about 10-15 face damage over 2 turns as well as wiping my board both turns.
Card is beyond broken
If you can't deal 2 damage to a minion, well, that's kinda your problem...
Altruis is here to stay, deal with it.
Dead but dreaming

I vote Wrathscale Naga. Way too powerfull when paired with illidari rush minions.

There is no way.... No way you can argue that a 3 mana 3/2 is impossible to clear 😂

Altruist in not the problem. The problem is skull of gundan and many low cost cards with high value. (Sorry for my english)

Side note: I don't think Wrathspike Brute should do face damage. It's designed as a defensive card with Taunt.
This space is intentionally blank.
<clap clap> I totally agree.

I suggest deal damage to all
