I dont like complaining, but I haven't faced a DH who hasn't hit a perfect mana curve yet... It feels like that one card you want to top deck "next turn", they already have it... And, you only have one card that strong in your deck.
I'm currently having fun trying to make a counter deck, but if I'm in the same position in 2 weeks, I could see myself getting pretty salty.
I don't understand why people are so naive to think demon hunter is too OP right off the bat. It's obviously going to make a huge splash in the meta, but just like before demon hunter control decks will always have a way to counter and there are faster decks than DH to the point where their powerful cards aren't going to be a huge factor. All in all people please wait at least 2 weeks for the meta to settle before you start whining.
Seems very very strong even if deck is probably quite unrefined. 7 out of 8 of my last matches where again dh and that is my main concern. Because it is so strong it feels you only play against it. And it is no fun because you almost now after t1 that it's lost already
Uh, yeah. Demon Hunter is stupidly overpowered. Most of its cards are individually overpowered, the general powerlevel of the other class's cards aren't anywhere near Demon Hunter's, but...yeah, I guess we can hem and haw about whether it's "actually OP" because it's "still day one" as if the cards are going to get any weaker on their own somehow, or as if we're somehow missing some obvious counterplay.
Demon Hunter now is as bad as Galakrond Shaman was when DoD launched, if not from the powerlevel alone, then from pure flexibilility (an OP deck is one deck. Demon Hunter is aggro, midrange, highlander, face...), and it'll probably get nerfed even harder than Galakrond Shaman was. It's not reasonable for one class to have as many different kinds of powerful cards as demon hunter has. Literally the only thing DH is missing is hard removal, and they don't even need it because of Kayn Sunfury, Consume Magic, and all the other fast ways of doing damage they have.
Can you beat demon hunter? If you draw correctly, play correctly, and are playing the right kind of deck, yes. The fact of the matter is is that if you're playing against a demon hunter, and you're not a demon hunter, they will always have more ways to win, even in just ONE deck than you do. You don't just have to look out for one card, you have to constantly be on edge about their entire deck, from turn 1 when they play literally the best one drop ever printed, up until late game, where suddenly all of your taunts are worthless because blizz decided to give a class with valid aggro, midrange, and face archetypes a mass taunt removal. Why did one class need so many obviously overpowered cards? I literally cannot imagine how else this could have gone. Demon Hunter is so singularly strong that I guarantee it will singlehandedly push every other class into tier 2 until the first round of nerfs, where their cards will disproportionately be hit.
It actually remind me of previous expansion with Galakrond Shaman being played by everybody since it was the most broken deck by far. Then a lot of nerfs happened quickly so a healthy meta could rise.
Demon Hunter are not as good as Pre Galakrond Shaman, but it's not too far behind. I really expect some cards to be nerfed in 1 week or 2.
They have way too much card draw potential, card are overstated by A LOT, deal stupid amount of face damage, they have board clear on top of board clear, there are 0 cost cards together with cost reduction cards and can self heal(luckly it's not that broken). They don't have good aggro protection which gives you fighting chance with like 2-3 deck.
right now i think the class is way overtuned, ive played about 20 games vs demon hunter and ive won 1 where he didnt play anything turn 1 and 2. i think the most reasonable change would be change all the random damage from being able to hit face to just minions.
No idea why Altruis the Outcast effect can hit face, the class has way to much random damage that can hit face as is as well as multiple ways to bypass taunts.
Ive used no minion mage today and won some lose some against DH. Its really strong but they need strong cards right now since they are New and limited. They will be nerfed for sure. But it is a process and it is not too bad. If no minion mage can go neck to neck with it there should be good counters to it.
Make the new shit OP; force everyone to buy packs to remain competitive; nerf in a few months, but only nerf low rarity cards (so dust refunds are poor).
Yeah DH is stupid broken. Has answers to every situation. Insane draw engine that doesn't lose tempo. Insane burst and sustained damage.
No idea what they were thinking printing skull of guldan in its current state. That card might as well read, "Gain 6 mana draw 3 cards." Blizz has lost their fucking minds.
Haven't gotten a chance to play yet, but I can still say that our judgments are still pretty premature. It's only been a few hours. Wait a week before we start screaming about nerfs.
I had a control priest curve out imprisoned humunculous into Apotheosis on turn 3 so he had a 4/8 taunt with lifesteal on turn 3. He also managed to draw breath of the infinite and holy nova.
I still beat him.
Right now my record against DH with non DH classes is 0-7. My record against non DH classes with the generic DH deck that Blizz put together is 5-2. My record against non DH classes with my own custom DH deck is 8-1.
Blizzard intentionally powercreeps with every expansion to make sure that people dump money on card packs. They want to make sure that your old cards and old collection are worthless when an expansion drops. Then, once as many people as possible have reached into their wallets, Blizzard will finally nerf the overpowered shit they just released.

It's honestly disgusting.
I would not call it disgusting, it's something that every gaming company do, it's not Blizz related only, the way i see it its a win win situation, the dust i will get after the nerfs will help us improve our collection, I already smell 10k or so free dust after the nerfs, tho no gonna lie, the game play is very very fun and fluid, the problem i see it everything click so good together it will be almost impossible for blizz to nerf dh without shitting on the class, while im annoy how strong they are i find the expansion fun so far, i seen 5/6 different type of decks so far, can't say the same about past expansions
If you can't weather the initial onslaught it's impossible to win. Even if you clear and their board and come back they refill it very quickly. They also have very good burst damage so if you can't set up some huge taunts they will kill you over the board with Metamorphosis, Priestesses or the +8 damage thing. Some classes, like druid or priest, are well positioned against the aggresive variations of DH. Most other decks just can't keep up. Their tempo is the best in game right now. I did had some success with Libram Paladin (the deck recipe list) but I think my opponents missplayed a lot (probably didn't knew how the new cards worked exactly). Their 1 and 2 drops are insane. 2/2 for 1 that buffed everytime you attack, Umberwing weapon and rushing murloc. You also can't really outrace them because they can heal with eye beam or the new taz'dingo with lifesteal. They late game is scary too, priestess and Antean just push so much damage and clear boards constantly. They draw is also insane (Skull of Gul'dan is just broken) so they never run out of resources...
All in all I expect big nerfs all around. Probably in the coming weeks. The game will devolve to just DH vs DH or DH vs Druid/Priest. Others classes are practically deleted from the game. They pushed the class too hard.

Demon Hunter will become tier 2 soon relax not that OP

Dazzle and dominate your foes as the Jewelcrafter!

Altruis the Outcast just clears my entire board every single time because all of DH cards cost fucking 0 mana. Go fuck yourself blizzard.
It is exactly what Hearthstone needed the most, another braindead aggro class with broken cards and unfun to play against.
10/10 class, thank you Blizz.

Control Priest wrecks them. Apotheosis a minion and they flat out lose.

Demon Hunter is destroying every facet of the ladder and Arena. They can probably nerf 5+ cards and class would still be OP.

100% win rate vs DH with rez priest right now. Literally changing my kids diaper and beating every DH with 5% of my brain.
