The wild format shows the weaknesses of HS designers team at best since making specific counter decks is an impossible task even with thousands of available cards. They have to play more wild to know what their game is missing.
I don't play much Wild except for triple Reno Mage, but Evocation does seem like it will be absolutely insane with the quest. I remember when Un'goro came out, the quest was VERY difficult to complete and didn't see a ton of play for that reason.
I think evocation is a little overrated - sure you can complete the quest with it, but you not only need a relativity large hand space but also have the mana available to play the cards. There is also no guarantee that you'll get all low-cost spell to combo with. Also, quest mage really have that hard of time completing the quest. I see evocation as more of a card for secret mage. But I stand to be corrected.
I may be confused, but I don't see the issue with Evocation and Quest Mage. The cards are discarded at the end of the turn, so while it's true that late game you'll likely be able to complete the quest off of the back of Evocation, early it's fairly useless for Quest Mage. Cyclone still seems more useful for Quest Mage to generate new spells, especially given that those spells aren't discarded if they turn out to be unplayable.
I'm not saying the card won't be powerful. Just saying that I don't see how it's going to "destroy Wild" when it's, at best, a late game quest completion (which Quest Mage is already good at with the billions of other random spell generation that they have access to in Wild).
Maybe there's a reason Wild was never considered the competitive format and was just made as a dumpsite for people who were going to complain about cards not being playable anymore when they announced the first rotations.
Evocation is not needed for Quest mage there are cards that do the job much better. You may get one or two playable cards early game if you throw down a sorcerer and pray. But you could just use a buffoon and get 2 spells and a 2/2 body. As someone suggested maybe it gets run in secret mage as a last resort because if they don't draw well you can sometimes run out of steam early if no card draw or Aluneth but that deck doesn't run sorc app and so it probably doesn't make the cut either unless the deck gets modified somehow

Stop making sense, dude! You're on HearthPwn. Remember: 1) Everything is broken. 2) Heathstone sucks / is a dying game. 3) If you don't agree with points 1 and 2 you're a Blizzard fanboy.
Yes, you're right. I think Blizzard is not even testing new cards in wild. Some cards they release are obviously well-balanced in standard, but in wild they are just either useless components to some tier 10 decks, or a total destroyer for tier 1 decks.

Evocation + quest mage will break the wild format. Wild will be a cesspit and it needs to be nerfed.

The pre-release doomsday soothsayers.

wild is WILD
I think wild needs fomat like arena, rotation of sets in 1-3 months or other periods.
No. Wild is supposed to be WILD! With every card.
If wild were limited to sets, it would be even harder to make cross-expansion synergies than standard!
Maybe there's a reason Wild was never considered the competitive format and was just made as a dumpsite for people who were going to complain about cards not being playable anymore when they announced the first rotations.
Agreed. How boring would it be to focus on that? Its basically just standard on a revolving door.
They already hinted at a new rotating format they will add with the second expansion of the year.

Correct me if i'm wrong but since evocation fills your hand with spells won't it burn the quest after it completes?

"A bargain forged in blood and shadow"
I don't see how this breaks wild worse than Darkest Hour lock . . .
Cool, more quest mage! Farming them is my guilty pleasure, easy climb next month again?
Turn 1 Evocation will be pretty useless. It won't take any less time than it normally does for a Mage to complete the quest.
