My last game before legend was against a Highlander rogue and they played spell lackey before their shark. Lastly they picked cabal shadow priest To take my SN1P-SN4P, thinking he can attack with it. So the misplaying is still there.
Also the new rank is so easy imo 16>26 wins for legend is more doable then ever before.
Any game is right now a giant struggle and it just feels awful to play.
It seems you are one of those players which MMR was overrated last Season due to a winning streak at the end. What's worse is you couldn't know that since they didn't officially published it before the start of last Season. So, in this case, Blizzard really owe an apology to such players.
The best you can do now is wait until last week of the month where players with T2- decks would start to appear, so you get some wins and use the streak to climb in the ranks.
The problem however remains - players getting lucky with wins and receiving high MMR are going to have a hard time the following Season. So, Blizzard needs to tune how their MMR is calculated in such situations or as I wrote multiple times transition to a full MMR-system with decays, in which this problem won't exist since when such player loses 3-4 games in a row he would be matched with WAY weaker opponents.
About the ladder system climb and the grind compared with before:
- For D5- players it may be more or less grindy depending on their luck and streak, generally it would be more
- For players aiming specifically D5 the grind is more
- For players aiming specifically legend the grind is less now
I think the most important thing to remember is that it's only an MMR system while you have a star multiplier. With an MMR system, you should theoretically average out to exactly a 50% win rate, but you'll still be progressing due to the multiplier as well as winstreak bonuses. Once you lose your multiplier, you are faced against people who are at your rank, which then allows you to climb if you are better than others at the rank. I was able to hit legend on the first day with this new system so I am a bit biased, but I think it's largely an improvement over the old system. I also think that the addition of more leagues and ranks makes you feel like you are constantly progressing which should make the grind feel better for all players.
What's the problem? Within few days all those good players with good decks will go to Diamond/Legend and you will be able to compete with other bad players in Bronze.
After a few days to a week, you'll mainly be paired with legend ranks, I think - because if everyone else has burnt through their star bonus, and you haven't, then nobody else uses MMR. Maybe I'm wrong and there'll be more people stuck with star bonuses they can't shift than I expect, but for those who don't play a format often, it's not a good system, IMHO. You don't get to matchmake based on rank until you're through your star bonus.
I hit legend yesterday. Today i was ranked Legend 240 and played against a Bronze 10 player. That seems... strange. I appreciate it's now based on MMR. Which means that person I was playing against presumably did very well last season and the season before, etc. But it's still odd.
Legend players can see the rank of who they're playing against. But when you're pre-legend you don't see the rank of your opponent. Another interesting little aspect to this system.
But on the next month all players will be bronze again. The problem will continue.
Nah. Rank doesn't matter until you've exhausted your bonus stars. So the rank reset means nothing, you'll get matched with those with bonus stars and those at legend, or just those at legend if you don't play much of a mode.
Also, they can't do nothing about those like me viewing the "bonus pool" stage as useless - they simply have to change the system.
How is the bonus pool stage useless? If you put in the effort and are decent at the game you'll rank up faster and get your rewards faster, so for once the game is rewarding you for playing. I also don't see a world where people from HS community would be conceding just to be nice for the opponent, at least I wouldn't be doing that.
But since you don't have the intellect to figure this out i guess i'll lend a hand. This is only a one time problem which will be temporary, they said that everyone is getting reset to Bronze 10 so you have everyone from all sorts of skill set stacked at that rank, everyone will begin to space out as time goes on. Things will be back to normal after about 3-4 weeks.
Your condescension aside, this is most certainly NOT how it works.
Being a jerk when you are right is one thing. Being a jerk and being wrong, though? Man, that must be embarrassing AF.
first of all, i like the new system cz u get good/fair opponents from the start on.
The big error here is ppl are thinking in terms of there Rank rather then there MMR(btw: this is hidden from u) with the new ranking system your rank or the rank last month doenst matter, rather then your MMR what is a summary of all your games id imagine.
My advice: if u mostly crushed by your opponents, u need to focus on your gameplay, HS is a game of chances, with skill u can increase your winrate. If u get counter by decks, find the counter deck and really learn your deck. Also if u havnt been legend with a deck u probably havnt figured out how to play it properly or u just lack the time to play. 100% its one or the other
that u have all the nessessary cards for your deck is obvious, otherwise enjoy bronze ranks
It is now MUCH harder to get to Diamond 5 than it was to get to Rank 5 in the old system.
Only if you don’t have a star bonus, which you will have if you were consistently getting rank 5 before so your argument is moot there. If you don’t have a star bonus it will get considerably easier as you acquire a star bonus. This system is great.
Are you serious? You honestly think anyone needs to apologize to them for winning a game(s) or for not letting know there would repercussions for winning. If you truly are playing for fun then it shouldn’t If you win or lose. If you’re playing to win then this new matchIng system shouldn’t be a problem because you’re going to be playing players around ur level. FYI Anyone that could make it to Rank 2 with 1 star (in the old system) can be legend now.
I'm on bronze league yet all I am fighting are players with tier 1 decks that play like robots. No fun decks at all, no funny mistakes, endless amount of galakrond Rogues and highlander mages with 6+ legendaries.
If this new system was supposed to make it more fair, I honestly don't see it, my experience has been the absolute worse. I had way more fun back in rank 5 matches than this lower league bullshit.
Low ranks have always been full of meta decks, where have you been?
Give it a couple of weeks, once players hit their 'goal' ranks there should be more fun/meme decks out there
