Anyone else ticked about losing golden cards? I for one am an avid collector and really enjoyed my climbs to 5 every month and holding my breath to see what my golden epic would be. It seems we really got doused by the new rewards and no one on this site seems to be upset! If you are upset be upset. It won't change a thing but rabble rabble rabble, Blizzard!
I much rather have the new system, don't care for golden cards and never have. I much rather fill out my collection and the new system is a great way to do that
You'll get 60 extra packs with the new system (if Legend, otherwise 48 at Diamond 10, the equivalent of Rank 5) over the year, plus the non-golden cards (12 epics and 84 rares over the year) , which is a lot more value than the golden epic, specially since the packs are from the latest expansion.
If you dusted all the golden epics you would gain 4800 dust a year. With 60 packs you'll on average open 3 legendaries and 10 epics, not counting goldens from all rarities. On average, thanks to epics, legendaries and goldens, packs are worth ~100 dust, so you'll get 6000 dust on average a year if Legend, or the same 4800 you get at Rank 5 by reaching Diamond 10 now, if you dust everything. But probably it'll be more, not to mention it saves dusts from your bank if you open stuff you don't need to craft.
Also, hint: Since it rewards packs from the latest expansion, you should consider waiting April, 7th to ladder if you want 4 or 5 extra Ashes of Outland packs instead of Descent of Dragons.

I'm pretty sure that, with the exception of the card back, you still get your rewards at the end of the month, so it doesn't matter if you ladder now or later. If you check the rewards in-game it even shows AoO packs.
There are some really strange an interesting interpretations on new systems when they are implemented. Yeah, it's different to what it was - but try looking at it objectively (as Lanko has). If you're that hard up for your golden cards, go craft them with the extra resources you get from the new rewards. I'd say for the vast majority the old rewards were nothing more than pre-packaged dust.
Lanko - does striking out that last line mean that the first time rewards are giving out AoO packs?

Bring back golden card rewards!
This guy again huh? I’ve seen posts before which can easily be summed up with:
”I’m upset about something. Now I’m going to be obnoxious to everyone else because I’m upset about something, then get defensive if anyone calls me out on being whiny and obnoxious.”

Exactly, thank you for counting that! I can't see any way how old system was better, and I have played since beta.
This change is possibly one of the best newly introduced changes. New players, or even most players, care little for Golden copies of cards that have a very small chance of actually being used. Together with the packs they're giving out this way, it's about as healthy as a reward system can get.
But alas, there will always be those that want to swim against the current, just to show the other fish they can swim against the current.

Playing meme decks/characters does not entitle you to call a meta bad.
To be fair, for someone who subjectively values golden cards significantly higher than the majority of players this change *would* look like a downgrade - they're entitled to that opinion as golden cards are what motivate them. Me on the other hand, golden cards are nothing more than dust receptacles.
There are 10-20 million active players in any given season. Just get 1-5% of them to sign your petition, and maybe Blizzard will consider it... I'm personally going to see how it goes before I throw a tantrum, because that's what reasonable people do.

I got a golden Gurubashi Hypemon as my reward this month...
I couldn't be happier about the new system.
do you use Gurubashi Hypemon?
I dont even like the 2mana spell that does the same thing.
but golden is 400 dust though

the 3 golden cards I got for my season rewards are all roaring out next weeks. So there’s that
Its a reward from the last system, since last month used the old system.

DELETED
I know. It was a statement that implied I'm happy to see the old system go because I was tired of getting golden cards I don't want as my reward.
Oh yeah, you're right.
the new system only motivates me to play less. I dont care about hs anymore
