After seeing the new Libram cards for Paladin, it really got me thinking about the future of the class. Paladins have always yielded a book, seen both in the normal Uther and the 1000 wins portrait Uther. My speculation is that they will push the Librams package every expansion, maybe even getting a Hero related card to finally get a win condition. What do you peeps think Blizzard will do with Paladin I am really eager to know!
Considering the libram synergy cards are really good and you can get a 6 mana discount on all librams not to mention getting more of them through stuff like lightforged crusader, it does limit the design space for future librams (like what Blizzard said with prep limiting power level of rogue spells).
So I think we can expect another weird archetype for Paladin in the next expansion, i honestly just want to see a viable control Paladin but it's been pushed towards aggro for such a long time now.
While I think there is a very small chance that they might continue this archetype with the other two expansions this year, I doubt that we'll see this theme continued next year as well.
I think it's a great theme and a cool idea to give Paladin a very unique mechanic, but we've seen these things come and go, and it seems rather arbitrary what is considered part of a classes' core. Apparantly, the Evolve stuff is something that Shaman will get every once in a while now, for some reason, while Beast Druid and Elemental Shaman lose their last few cards that reminded you of those archetypes.
I mean, they picked up Rogue Secrets again, after ignoring that theme for two years, so there might be some hope. I'd sure like to see more Librams and related cards in the future. But it's just as possible that they drop it again and see it as an experiment.

I really hope they continue it, because it's great control and value support
That said, did you know evolve is now considered a core mechanic of shaman according to their own website? I mean fuck elemental lore right
I hope they push it. It seems like cost reduction or cost manipulation has been seen lately in Paladin like Rebuke, Prismatic Lens. Pure and librams are definitely a good fit to the class. They can honestly go away with secrets and murlocs.
Most likely they won't push it, then in a set in the next block they'll do a "callback" libram card, like they did with Witch's Brew, Omega Devastator, Forbidden Words, and Assassin's Contract and it'll either be individually strong enough to see play or no one will touch it because the libram package isn't good enough.
if they will support and push that archetype with more cards, and focus on it..yes it have potential,if we go again milion archetypes like it was last year, class is screwed again.
One can only hope dude. Libram and pure paladin fit the class flavor really well, and I hope they continue down this path.
No new Pure pally cards were printed this set, but the libram package seems to synergize with the pure package. So honestly I'm already really happy with that.
More support for these archetypes would be "the dream", but I'll settle with them pushing other packages that fit the flavor of paladin and synergize with eachother one way or another!

To be honest I think they should rework Paladin and add Librams to basic set. Paladin's basic and classic set is in weird place anyway.
Yes, they should push it. But they won't. Next expansion they'll start to develop "Beast Paladin"

Maybe in 2 yearsm when actual librams rotate, just like rogue secrets.
Next up, "Thief Paladin"

Theres some neat stuff you can do with librams. E.g. quest pally you can make infinite libram of wisdoms if you dont get silenced

Dazzle and dominate your foes as the Jewelcrafter!
