Hi I have been almost exclusively playing battlegrounds and was a rank 7000 player before the recent update. Since the update I have been consistently losing, now rank 6100. What the hell happened to the meta? I am having serious issues just getting to top 4 where previously had no problems. My go to was mech with divine shield and now I barely can get that and am usually stuck with a bad mix of minions by the time I upgrade to level 4. Can anyone give me some pointers or advice how best to consistently rank in this meta? Thanks!
Idk i am no BG expert 6972 mmr atm , but if you wold ask me about my favourite go to build i would say: i only pick what looks the best in the situation. Otherwise whatch some pros like bebe or purple and look when they level etc,
Don't force strategies and don't pick heroes that make you force.
Losing 1k mmr is not a big deal, don't worry too much about mmr.

This is exactly it. And don't deep dive triples at the expense of progess. Giving your only demon +2/+2 even if you're not going demons is better than spam rolling into nothing, especially early-mid game.
Also remember, there are always going to be one or two players per battleground that are going to crazy highroll. It's just going to happen. The best thing you can do is just fight for top 4 as often as you can, and you'll be one of those players from time to time.
My Achilles heel is murlocs. They are the biggest trap in the game. You basically have to trip bran to pull them off barring insane luck. They're terrible in the early-mid game unless you triple a seer and have war leaders, but most of the time they are a massive trap.
And finally, realize that the mid game is the most important time in battlegrounds for averaging top 4. A strong and well played mid game gets you to top 4, and a lot of people spend this time trying to high roll as opposed to developing. And aside from juggler build, stats are king. You will eventually need to choose a direction, but stats are the most important thing.
Final bonus tip. Don't underestimate shifter zerus. If you're behind, he is a card that can single handedly bring you back. Don't buy him stupidly, but if you're going downhill fast, there are niche situations where you have to pick him and pray. But only if it's early and you're way behind.
I've found in the current meta, leveling up your tavern tier quickly is more important. People seem to be getting to high tier more quickly. Basically, don't stick to a strategy in the early game. Just go for maximum stats and level up quickly, then transition to your final game plan.

I’m in the same boat, OP. Was 7700 and now after like 4 days am 6900. I’m sure it’ll swing back though, so no worries

Mmmmmmm.... Shadowy thoughts.
Dude. Thanks so much. This is great. Will keep you guys posted. Maybe just shouldn’t get so discouraged.
You haven't failed. You just found a hundred ways that don't work. Practice makes perfect.
