Am I wrong to believe that all of us, hearthstone or other blizzard games players, deserve to get one of the new players free decks, even if we played after the March 17th period? It feels like there cheating on us....We are worth one single deck, I am sure! It's alread hard enough to earn gold with one daily quest, let us have some nice moments now and then....
By the way, I really appreciate the changes they have done this year, only this deck thingy got me sad seeing people all around internet feeling really bad about not getting a new deck.
If you play and do your daily quests consistently you would have earned a lot more in that time period so I am honestly not sad that I won't be getting a new deck even though I came back after a year or so break in the beginning of the current expansion. It's a good way to try to get more people playing the game again which benefits everyone playing.
If I'm not mistaken, the new decks only gain 1 or 2 legendaries, with most of the free cards rotating out in a week. If a person hasn't played in the last 4 months, they've most likely missed out on a few free legendaries which are still relevant.
I personally have no use for any of the decks they're offering, and have recieved much better perks.
I'll be brutally honest here. Hearthstone did this to get potentially playing players back into the game, and spending money. For the most part, people upset about not getting the free deck, are likely players that spend very little, if any, money on the game. I buy the odd new expansion bundle, but that's it, and I already have all cards from each of those decks, So, I likely would have gotten 800-1200 dust in duplicates, which isn't a big deal, especially since most players just got 4000-8000 in free dust from the Hall of Fame.
I'm simply speaking from Blizzards perspective. They want to attract new players, and players who left to return, because they think the next expansion will hold their attention (and money, they hope), so they advertised it wholly to them, by only offering it to them. Worst case scenario for them, is they lose a few salty players who didn't plan on spending anyways, to potentially bring back, or introduce players who will spend money.
They probably should have at least given the decks to those who have only been playing for 6 months or a year also.
It does feel kinda unfair that a player is getting a near perfect meta deck and up to 3 legendaries (The highlander mage has reno, zep and alex) for doing absolutely nothing. It feels even more unfair when your think about the fact that most of us had to actually work our asses (or drop our credit card) in order to have even one decent meta deck, and then new and returning players simply get it for free and will get 2 legendaries that work on every single class and are 2 of the best atm (zep and alex). I also was like wow wtf, I've always stated that it's cool to make it easier for new players to get into the game (I loved when they gave new players 25 extra ranks and a lot of packs along the way) but giving them a near mint perfect meta deck seems like way too much if you ask me. I also feel this is extremely unfair to F2P players with small collections and players that happened to come back or start playing before this was implemented.
We deserve nothing, they're cheating nobody and it isn't hard to collect gold from quests.
They deliver a product and expect to make money out of it so they work on keeping/broadening their client base.
Regular players receive a lot of freebies throughout the year (and even more recently). It's perfectly understandable from a marketing point of view to try to reach out those not getting these freebies ( So many companies do exactly the same (phone, internet, gas, electricity, name it,...) Most of these companies don't give any freebies to regular customers (or so little it is just a joke), Blizzard does and doesn't discriminate between FTP and whales (recent no duplicate is aimed at FTP players, it won't affect whales). We could get 8000+ gold from quests and 6000 dust from HoF (Some got a lot more) and some extra packs from events(not even talking about brawls)... This doesn't sound that bad
What is it you really want? A free game with all the cards given to you on a silver platter? I'm sorry to say you don't get a free phone, car, computer and have to pay for your internet and fuel... Why would it be different because Blizzard is into games (it already is as you can play it without ever spending 1 dollar?

I think your point about the pole complaining likely not putting any money or putting very little in is a good one.
It's not enough that you have a free to play game and have numerous freebies and promos whilst barely putting anything in, if any at all. Over time I've really come to dislike the general f2p player base (not all, some appreciate the product they are playing for free) because every game I've played they appear to be the most demanding and entitled whilst sitting on a free product.
Thanks for almost everyone that answered this question, just wanted to see some different opinions. All of you guys points are valid and I appreciate then a lot. Sorry if I sounded selfish by the way...Thanks guys!! :^)

Did you just find out how f2p games work?
It's all about psychology and business, everything they do is well-engineered to make players interested enough to keep up the business goin'

whatever you do don't drop the soap

None of the cards will be rotating. Every card in every one of those decks is from the year of the dragon and classic/basic.
