Would you be kind enough on explaining how you got to that number?
I was under the impression that 108 packs should do. 135 cards x 4 (two golden and two that aren't) / 5 (number of cards per pack).
You start getting duplicates when you have every card in a rarity I believe and someone did that math on here before and said it would still be 200+ packs just about 30 or so less than before.
The no duplicate rule really only ensures you'll get all rates and commons sooner. There are 23 x 2 (46) epic cards and 25 legendaries, and the chances of opening them in packs isn't improved.
Assuming 4 common per pack with 52 x 2 commons (104), you should have all commons within 26 packs (only more because packs contained more than one rare or better)
Assuming 1 rare per pack, with 35 x 2 rates (70), you should have all rates within 70 packs.
Average odds of opening a epic is 1:5, so you would have all Epics after opening 230 packs (204 of the packs would have duplicate commons = 4080 dust. 160 of the packs have duplicate rares = 3200 dust...
230 packs = all common, rare, and epic cards plus 7280 dust).. You would also have 12 or so of the legendaries and enough dust to craft 4 more.
20 more packs would get you another legendary, and enough dust (combined with the leftover from 230 packs) to craft another.
So 250 packs would get you all commons, rares, epics, and 18/25 legendaries.
Average odds of opening a legendary is 1:20, so you would open all legendaries after 500 packs without using any dust.
Everything is +/- depending on RnG of course, and theres likely a few things I haven't accounted for, like when you open a legendary, or epic, theres one less common or rare in the dust pool.
50 packs give you 250 cards there are 135 cards in the set so so you take out the legendaries so 25 so you double the epics to commons 110 that is 220 so 245.
50 packs give you 250 cards there are 135 cards in the set so so you take out the legendaries so 25 so you double the epics to commons 110 that is 220 so 245.
If I had a bit more money to spare or interest I would buy the pre order, but with the gold I have and the dust I have, I'll rather just wait to see how the cards play out and then craft the good stuff and some of the meme stuff I want for the classes I mainly play. If the expansion is really good, I will put some money into the packs later.
When you start to think about the value proposition, 3 months of having all the cards until the next expansion is out is nowhere near the value of 4-5 AAA games. If you buy both of the preorders for 140 eur you still don't get the full set. They should really offer some kind of subscription based scheme where you have access to all the cards (but this is obviously a pipe dream because the market needs milking).
Then how you have a total of 245 cards to collect and the packs will not give you more than doubles.
It wont give you more than doubles of EACH RARITY... There are 104 commons... You won't get doubles of a common until you have ALL commons (which should be after 25 packs)... After that, you will get doubles of commons. There are 70 rares, and you usually get one in a pack, so within the first 70 packs you will have all rates with no duplicates. After that, you will get duplicates.
The average odds of epics are 1 in every 5 packs. Legendary are 1 in every 20 packs... That hasn't changed. The new model is:
You won't get duplicate commons until you have all commons.
You won't get duplicate rares until you get all rares.
You won't get duplicate epics until you have all epics.
Legendaries have always been like this.
Did people honestly think when they had most of the cards, they would just open packs that would be full of only Epics and Legendaries? That seems pretty crazy to me.
Under the new system you will have the whole set when you open 250-300 packs depending on your luck.
not including the one you get in first 10 packs, with 25 legendaries at 5% chance (which i believe is wrong I thought it was 1/30 chance)
you should have about a 75% chance to get them all with 450 packs without dusting :D
note: a lot of those estimates don't account for getting 2 rares or 2 epics or 1 rare and 1 epic or 1 rare and 1 legendary
they assume the worst possible outcome for almost all of the packs, but you will get some good rolls too
one way to look at it would be to assume that you will need to get all copies of epics to get enough dust to fill out the legendaries, so it chance of epic is 1/5 then you have about a 75% chance of getting all of the epics in 115 packs
at that point you have 4 legendaries, 5 or 6 if you got lucky, plus enough dust to craft 2 or maybe 3 (I'm worried this is inaccurate maybe few more?)
so you need enough dust to craft 17-19 legendaries, 30,400 for the latter
you get 150+ (estimate) average dust per pack but every 30 packs gives a legendary thus 100 more packs still won't quite do it unless you get really lucky it is looking like 225-250, but now their is a ceiling
Not having to craft the epics must be a decent saving for those able to open 200-250 packs.
For those sitting on dust and in a position to open that many packs, I think the point to stop opening packs and start crafting will be the point at which you've opened all the epics.
I don't spend that much, but after playing for 2.5 years I'm finally in a comfortable spot. I bought the mega bundle, and I'm going in with about 6000 gold (only complete daily quests, and I started saving all gold about 3 weeks into last expansion, and with the HOF I have about 11000 total dust... I should be able to have full collections early in each expansion only buying a bundle from now on...
F2P players should be able to bank 12,000 gold per expansion if you bank everything, so probably 140-150 packs per expansion without spending a dime.
You'll have all commons and rare, 32/46 epics, and 9/25 legendaries with 4000 dust...
Thats not too bad for an "evil and greedy" company...
After some spreadsheet math I calced you need 281 packs. Though tbh, if you dive deeper into it, that's really not needed to get a good amount for your collection (and pick some legendaries you can craft to have fun with).
Based on hearthstone wiki sources about gold drop rates, average card drop rates, etc. Only thing I didn't take into account is the pity timer. I calculated the dust you would get from duplicates and how much you were missing to complete the set. Each legendary adds about 9 packs you need.
You will be able to own all common cards at 29 packs. Same for rare at 56, and epic at 152 packs.
At 56 packs (the amount of gold I have saved), I'll have all commons, miss 6 rare cards, have 12 epics and 4 legendaries. It will also leave me with 620 additional dust, which together with my 8K dust received from the HoF's, allows me to craft either 5 more legendaries, 22 epics, or a combination of that.
After the 152nd pack, you have enough dust to craft all the epics and you will still miss 16 legendaries.
Buying the 90 pack preorder leaves you with about 3.1K dust, 3

Hello, does anyone know how many packs I need to get the full set for AOO?
250 i think
Enough packs to buy 5 Triple A games...
Would you be kind enough on explaining how you got to that number?

I'll start with about 60 packs as usual and then will collect the rest over time.
50 packs give you 250 cards there are 135 cards in the set so so you take out the legendaries so 25 so you double the epics to commons 110 that is 220 so 245.

"You can't just assign random prices to junk you find in a storage locker."
Unless it's changed in the past 2 years, the chances of a legendary are 5%
Each card has a 1% chance of being legendary, and 5 cards per pack.
