1. All new cards/nerfs/buffs/rotations are set up with the future in mind. Please understand they are already working on the next set . What doesn't make sense now might later
2. This hasn't been released yet. We don't know how its going to play.
3. The meta always changes in standard, we may see stuff work now that didn't before.
Half of the set caters to archetypes that we won't use.
There are tons of useless dormant demons...that we have to wait 2 turns for when they should of been making it 1 turn with these dormant cards. They would have to have a lesser effect but it would be way less slow.
This set just goes from busted to useless so much a lot of cards that shouldn't even be here everything looks like pack filler.
They gave warlock like 2 or 3 discard card likes what's the point of that?
They gave paladin more murlocs when there's no viable archetype to support murlocs right now and all the paladin mains want to feel like real control paladins not murloc owners.
Druid is getting a shitty spell druid archetype that won't even be tier 3
The only thing hype about this id say is Hall of fame rotation, demon hunter, librams, and prime cards.

Normally I think these sort of predictions before a set have even come out are silly and presumptious.
But when three of the sets are rotating out, and some of the most popular cards are cycling out I think this sort of evaluation is just ridiculous. No one knows what the meta is going to look like after the year of the phoenix begins. Leeroy will be gone, Zilliax will be gone, mechs are gone, some of the important dragon cards will be gone, this set is adding a TON of good early game cards.
Murloc Paladin looks great. I hate Murloc Paladin but I think it looks great. The discard cards in Warlock have an obvious purpose and most are intended to be in faster zoolock decks. Same as Soulfire and Doomguard were back in the day.
There's like... two spell-based druid cards? In addition to Crystalsong Portal? All of which have some use outside of spell-exclusive druid decks. (Like with Book of Spectres, if you get two spells and discard one minion, then the card is worth.)
I think everyone is underestimating dormant minions too. Two turns isn't that long, and the tempo evaluation is flawed because the player is obviously trading tempo now for tempo later. And most of them cost 1 or 2 mana, and are focused on controlling mechanics.
I think this might be my favourite set ever personally. I think everything looks good, and the set rotation takes out a lot of the Year of the Raven stuff. Which I think is mostly good.
I could be wrong about all this of course, but I think this is still wrong.
Ever consider they are setting up archetypes to be built upon?
Where's the Quest Warrior and Paladin support? Quest Warrior was always a meme and all eggs are rotating, so quest pally has no support. Where's the Healdragon Pally support? Whatever happened to bomb warrior?

I'll be honest, nothing about this set has really jumped out at me at all. That said, it's foolish to call it so early. Lets actually play the expansion before passing judgement.
Still, Hearthstone peaked with Ungoro and I don't see this set changing that.
On the contrary, I'm actually looking forward to this expansion. For the first time we are going to get a new class. That said the effort put in by developers is just more than before.
Sure thing it's impossible to please everyone. And your concern on balance is true and always has been the case for every new expansion release.
As for archetypes, won't it be boring if we play the same as before? This expansion does create new possibilities. Viable or not, exploring those would be just as fun.

You don't need to play it to see most of these cards are trash
but it will probably be a good meta. It usually is after a rotation.
i find a lot of the cards very underwhelming. A silence or transformation can ruin the primes. Zephrys can offer silences The dormant mechanic seems very slow. In a game that’s historically had strong aggro / face decks, a lot of the dormant cards abilities won’t really matter because you’ll be getting rushed down. Not to mention these cards like Mass Dispel and deadly shot destroy them. There are some that are control oriented though
You are crazy, this set is way beter than boomsdays and a couple others. And like other people said there are leaving 3 sets of cards, and this will be a sett up for furture coming cards. FINALY some big demons, demons FTW.
They give warlock a handbuff card when the rest are rotating. Same for discard. The prime minion wont see much play because all big demons are DH cards. Seems like they try to push all warlock archetypes at the same expansion. Hope the adventure can fix the situation.
Look I feel like I gotta explain stuff to players

If you think it’s the worse. You didn’t play TGT

But that is what they actually do. #LifeTap

Quest has plenty of support. Murgur Murgurgle, All the Librams, Teron Gorefiend Dragonmaw Sky Stalker
Are the singer ? Nice
Power Creep= Massive QQ
Slightly less Power Creep/Level= also massive QQ '' Wtf boring card@#! Zomg!! "
The valid part is the dormant mechanic as a core theme.

I'm excited for it. I wasn't a fan of the last 2 expansions but I feel like they brought back some quality stuff this time

Keymaster Alabaster come faster
They are too busy balancing demon hunter they forgot about the other class support cards lol
I see where you are coming from.

I think, it's especially hard to determine the playability of the dormant minions before actually seeing them in play.
Who knows? Maybe ensuring some board presence 2 turns in advance might turn out to be quite useful. I simply don't know.
So I'll definitely try it out first - and then maybe complain afterwards...

For the Horde,
Chill.... The expansion hasn't even come out yet. You sound like a dumbass.
