it's been a thing more or less since GvG. They always try to push archetypes, but they are often hit or miss. Like in the current expansion Galagrond decks were good enough to see top level play, but there has been maaaaaaaany archetypes that they have pushed over the years that have never worked for example discard warlock.

For more examples, Murloc Paladin, Dragon Paladin, Reborn Paladin, Mech Paladin, Control Paladin, Heal Paladin, Swarm Paladin, Paladin Paladin, you name um!
Am I missing something? I know there are a lot of cards that fit together, but I don't think it's obvious what the decks are going to be like or how those cards with interact with cards from previous sets.

I don't understand why take so long for them to release a card like Soularium, if discardlock have acess to the card four expansions early the deck will see much more play.
This genius has spotted that certain cards are designed to synergize with each other thanks to the new bunch of Paladin cards revealed all having the word "Librum" printed on them. Don't tell him about Invoke he'll go mental.

How in the world are you supposed to make cards if you don’t know which archetype they support? Like you’re gonna print some random cards for a class that don’t fit together and the class is gonna be unplayable.
Even though some archetypes (Freeze shaman) never saw any play this is far more better. And also community finds a way to create new interesting decks.
I just cant stand the fact that they are making the cards so easy to see what fits togheter. They are more or less make the decks for us and the meta.
Its so easy to see what cards you gonna put in your deck. Guarantee they already know how the meta will look before the re lease of an expansion.
Just play wild. More cards there.

They obviously do extensive Playtesting before release, and they have a former Pro in their card design ranks now afaik

Its the first expantion of the year, I think Blizzard want to keep the meta under control, specially with all the DH thing arround.

Nah its fine I just hate all the useless meme stuff they add to the expansion.
Keymaster Alabaster come faster

It is always like that! Look to Galakrond, Cthun, lackeys, etc, etc
But when the meta settle down I garatee to you that it will be something different from the pre-defined decks.

Your last sentence is wrong, but the rest of it is correct.
You forgot Book Paladin

I think this was a WAY bigger problem in DoD with the dragon archetype and Galakrond.
This set seems way more flexible to me.
It is just you.
