you're seriously overestimating the number of people that actually use forums, watch streams etc
also people are playing the game for the fun of it too, and people that think like you are in the serious minority, which is even more confirmed by the responses to this post
As I wrote, whether the potential situation discussed in OP happens or not, the ranking system would still be flawed until the bonus-pool thing is in play instead of a system based on MMR decays like in SC2.
MMR decays also stimulate the players to log-in and monitor their position/rank/league, which is another good thing for the game (making players come back not only because of daily quests).
The general mass population are allergic to critical thinking. They mask this with insults and denial.
The OP has merit in theory - and he is correct in saying that if top streamers were to implement it, then the rest would follow. The majority are sheeple who just copy everyone else. You only need to look for when Thijs (etc) plays a new deck and it's in the meta within 24hrs.
The sheeple are in denial though, and they don't wish to actually think about their position - so they'll continue to criticise and marginalise.
So instead of playing normally with equal ranked players you will give and get auto-concede wins to equally ranked players to rank up more quickly so you can play normally with equal ranked players?
If hitting the rewards is all that mattered wouldn't it be easier to just torpedo your MMR at a rank floor and wait until the last week of the season to ladder?
Or you can just play it normally. Hearthstone is a super casual game anyway.
Yes, people are going to devise elaborate strategies to rank up, instead of playing 10 fast games on a face deck to just cruise through the ranks. Give me some of whatever you are smoking.

Good work thinking outside the box OP.
there is a big flaw in thinking that any streamer would actually implement it though
people watch streams to see how people play the game not how they are conceding, do you really think that big streamers like Kripp or Thijs would start conceding their games? for what? they can get the same or better results by playing the game
it took me literally 15 minutes and 4 games to get halfway through silver rank from bronze 10, and that was with only 6x multiplier, with higher multipliers you'd just fly through low ranks
Even if this become widely adopted, those of us who do not play by that system will ruin it for others fast. Getting a free win when you go first, and have the chance to win if you go 2nd... why would you not use that for your own.
And I am pretty sure that blizzard will throw some temp bans at streamers if this becomes a practice, just say it is not accepted behaviour and is considered matchfixing, then at least for rank play this will stop. and what is the point in casual?
Yes, everything I wrote on these forums in the past days proved right - from people losing more time on average to climb up instead of quitting and "co-oping" with others to the absolutely unnecessary climb with the bonus pool for those which MMR is pretty well known based on previous month games.
This ladder is illogical and everyone will understand it sooner or later for themselves.
Here are some tips when you have the bonus pool:
- You can quit on turn 1 depending on the match-up and your hand - it's faster when you have a bonus pool since you lose MMR (this usually means weaker opponent next game) and don't lose time to play an unfavourite game.
- You can stay at the "safe floors" and give free wins to others to lose MMR and then get the big bonus streak vs weaker opponents.
My understanding is it’s still very similar to the last system in that if you dropped to rank 5 you were still playing other players who dropped to rank 5. It’s just now you have way more ranks to climb, presumably because of the new rewards. If you would try this strategy in the last sytem, then maybe it would work, otherwise I don’t think it will.
I don't think that is true, considering the doubling of your stars when on a winning streak also applies, therefor playing normally is probably still the best way to climb.

From your first line I can gather that you don't fully understand the new system.
You don't get pitted against people with a similar final score last season, you get pitted against people with a similar MMR.
Nice troll account with 25 posts, lol, rofl, lmao, kekw xd
Maybe, you want to go back to Overwatch and troll there? Byeeeeeeeeeeee

This one of the dumbest posts I have ever seen in this site.
Can you elaborate why? I am curious

You don't expect noob players to understand things that even the devs themselves miss, do you?

Right? I can't see this ever happening.

This new ladder system is FAR FROM OPTIMAL.
People are selfish bastards who don't trust anyone. Nobody will concede for free

I feel like you’re trying to make an issue where there is none. There’s no way to guarantee things to work this way for you or anyone else
There is no reason to let my opponent win, simply for my opponent to play but if he concedes it is better for me.

In 2 hours people already reached Legend by playing normally... can't believe you guys are seriously discussing this.
