A lot of times I see posts like this where people are upset because the game is too fast or too controlling and that's fair; metagames shift as new cards are released so this is kinda unavoidable. When people say this I often compared Hearthstone to MTG. In MTG there are a vast amount of formats and decks even in the most boring of formats. For example, even if the best deck is mono red aggro there are multitudes of ways to build unique decks that can win out against it even if you take some loses against control.
Unlike Hearthstone, expansions for MTG have upwards of 300 cards (and of course there are still broken cards). I think that having a large card pool helps to allow for more variety. And yet... The Hearthstone team probably would not make such a large set (not to mention everyone would complain about having to spend a large amount of money to get the complete set) but it may be a solution to this issue.
Honestly I rarely spend money on Hearthstone. I just play wild and battlegrounds. Many players might not want to get into wild as it has a large card pool and lots of powerful decks... But meme decks are just so fun even if you don't win. There are so many fun decks that can be played in wild. I would strongly encourage trying it out.
It's definently tougher but I still find a lot of success with homebrew decks. As long as you deckbuild well, you can find a lot of success with Tier 2, Tier 3 decks.
Wild is a good place if you wanna play "home brews" as you can go quite far without facing a lot of the op wild meta decks and as for standard, I have had some success with my home brew decks even against the op top tier decks and the current meta isn't that aggressive anymore since rogue isn't as dominant as it was let's say a month or two ago.

Way too expensive.
Wild is cheaper then Standard, wdym?
That depends. There are quite a few high tier wild decks that are very expensive to craft (cubelock, any form of res priest, darkest hour warlock, new versions of jade druid, any highlander deck since there are more highlander cards available in wild, etc.). Some of these decks blow any deck in standard out of the water with regard to crafting cost. With that said, if you've been playing for awhile it is obviously easier to make use of cards in your collection in wild than in standard since nothing rotates out of wild. So wild isn't necessarily cheaper than standard, at least not if you're looking to craft some of the crazier super OP decks and you don't already have the cards to construct them.
It's definently tougher but I still find a lot of success with homebrew decks. As long as you deckbuild well, you can find a lot of success with Tier 2, Tier 3 decks.
I can totally understand where you're coming from, I find it extremely annoying when you jump into a game and suddenly you face a hunter with 2 3/3 a 2/3, secret and 1/3 on turn three. But then again its nothing new. For quite some time either you played hunter or a hard counter to hunter, and this was quite some time back. Really hope that leeroy joining the hall of fame will put a stop or at least lower the amount of aggro decks.
It's cos there are so many cards that can change a game on their own WITHOUT having to build your deck around them (honestly highlander doesn't feel like much of a restriction anymore cos there's so much good neutral cards rn that don't need any synergy) which can be annoying but i guess if everyone is doing broken things then they don't feel too broken.
Also i guess it depends on how keen you are to succeed with your own deck. I personally make "home brew" decks for fun or to try a crazy combo without any real intention of winning, for the past few months i've been too busy to climb to legend so i would just hit rank 5 with a decent "meta" deck (usually highlander mage with an urge to play as many Yogg boxes as possible) then just play dumb stuff like Galakrond dragon thief priest, control shaman or cyclone mage (Kadghar+ CC with 0 cost mana giants can actually steal a lot of games and doesn't feel broken because of all the broken crap your opponent is doing).
I think the biggest problem is that whenever they push out overly high-powered sets like DoD, "honest" decks stop being an option. Every deck is defined by a few big flashy marquis cards and pre-decided packages, which just makes every game you play kind of feel the same. I fell like you don't get as many real deckbuilding options with this sort of set design. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we'll have another low-power format for a long long time given their gradual shift in design philosophy.
It's not so much that this philosophy is inherently bad for everyone, it just doesn't lend well to people who want to try more "out-of-the-box" sorts of deckbuilding. Also, this is obviously just my own personal experience with the game, and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm overlooking quite a number of positives other people find with this sort of meta. It just isn't for me.
What horrible the people that actually start to play in your times getting gold and spending it in build Meta Tier or Ladder efficient decks (aggro) for being able to sustain their gold and keep playing the game they like instead of keep using meme decks in a competitive game were everyone wants to win and most of the ladder players in low-mid ranks go in tryhard mode regardless of what you play or how you play it.
"The game is not the same" yes occourse its not. When we started to play years ago most of the players were Dolphins (not big spenders) or F2P and the amount of players that Whale this game increase with every year. F2P players go into efficient decks with their favorite classes (more than one because you cant stick with 1 forever every expansion) Dolphins wants also to go ladder and a LOT of people spend hard money in this game. Its called competitive environment and happens in every card game/PvP Game. If you can optimize your chances of winning well that is your goal as a player.
"Winning if fun" I dont like that words but most of people belive in that.
This game i think as lost all the good game in it since the 2 directors ( Ben Brode and another one ) left the Blizzard since them it´s more and more dificult to plays this it´s just a amont of lucky on hand and cards we took
P.S. - Two weeks ago i was at rank 10 Brass and on a single night i reach the diamond 6 since them can´t leave the 10 rank ...
Bro I just hit rank 5 with a homebrew libram pally in wild and I could push legend if I dedicated the time. It's definently possible to have success with homebrews.

One side of the community believes that the "homebrew" decks losing is to be expected (after all they aren't optimized) One side of the community believes that the game has lost all merit after 'XYZ' situation (developers, expansion, patch, etc.) One side of the community believes that the game is currently built around meta specific win scenarios (odd, gala, highlander decks etc.) One side of the community believes that the game should be balanced better than it was/is (insert meta time here)
So who's right?
Personally I think ingenuity and creativity should be rewarded just as much as copy/paste... as well all tier decks were homebrew at one point until they became optimized and thus ended up tier quality...

I'll buy it for you BB.

True. Thx for your reply.
Thank you to all who offered suggestions and sympathy. LOL Its really is appreciated. Cheers.

Games in lower ranks skew the data on HS replay. In the hands of a skilled player Galakrond Rogue is the clear #1 deck.

I prefer this broken meta to the odd warrior / control warrior with Elysiana snoozefests of previous metas.
