I was reading about the next expansion and it says - there will be no more duplicates in the packs. Does this rule affect only new packs or old packs too? I have 15 packs from latest quests and I'm not sure if I should open them now or wait till the next expansion. I don't really want to get duplicates ;)
I opened two packs and 6 cards out of 10 were duplicates of cards I already have (and had to dust them). Why? I thought I wouldn't get a card if i already have 2 copies of it
Please re-read the explanation. You have dupe protection until you have every card of that RARITY. If you have 2x of all the common cards of a particular set, you will start to receive them again. If you have all of the common cards of a particular set, it does NOT mean that you will only open cards of a higher rarity that you are missing.

If you already have all cards of the same rarity in that set, it'll be duplicates

I think I don't have all of the cards from the set. I still cards... But I still get duplicates, that's weird.

All the cards OF THE SAME RARITY
You said 6 dups out of 2 packs so logically most (if not all of them) commons. Are you sure you don't have all commons in the set? The system won't give you a legendary (or epic or rare) to replace a common because you do have them all...

It doesn't matter what your collection is as a whole if 4 cards were meant to be common its duplicated regardless. if you're missing 3 rares it isnt going to give you three rares in a pack.
What about golden cards? If I have 1 non-golden and 1 golden, and I get 1 non-golden.. If I dust the non-golden does it mean I will never get the golden one from a pack?
If you have a nong golden and one golden the game registers that you won 2 copies, if you delete the golden you will not get another filler for that spot until you have all other cards of the same rarity. Now, once you do get all cards of the same rarity and delete the golden it is uncertain if you indeed get a replacement for it or you start getting a random cards as before this expansion, im going to test it out and come back with clarification.

This seems to be broken at the moment. The patch doesn't seem to properly count normal and golden cards as both being playable (same) cards. It seems to consider normal and golden as different cards. I opened a golden of a card I had 2 normal copies and similar situation resulting in 3 of the same card (normal/golden) happened to some other players so better wait for a patch correction from Blizzard

The question is, if I dust one of the non-golden ones..Does it count it as being part of the set? I mean that can I pull a golden one from a pack or not? (after dusting a non-golden)

They answered this. It will effect all saved packs too.
Just wait for the next expansion.

@bUBBz
Sorry man, I really cannot tell you more than what I wrote before. I'm almost 100% sure there is a bug. Blizzard didn't confirm/infirm.
I tend to believe that golden and non golden are considered as different cards but only Blizzard could confirm that.
It's now your choice to open packs and hope for compensation later if things go wrong or wait for an official announcement
