Meh. At this point, I'm pretty much convinced that if you want to play wild, you better get used to people playing broken sh*t. In exchange, you get to play broken sh*t. I still don't understand why they decided to undo the Raza nerf but at this point, there's just so much broken crap in wild that IMO, this is what you signed up for.
Just play the 4-3 bird, dirty rat. Do something to win the game. You can't just sit and wait and then ask "oh wait why is it turn 10 and this deck is slowly winning". Different power levels. When Gul'dan summons 7 demons or aggro decks win by turn 5 nobody bats an eye, but when Anduin starts to build up his control power past turn 8-10, everybody loses their minds. Every deck has it's thing. There are honestly far more broken decks now, look at the meta... The most annoying - Darkest hour coinflip. This is the alternative of old naga giants warlock. It is technically the same thing. THAT is broken. No real counter if done turn 3-5 with those spiders that make spells cost 2 more. You can only hope for like plague of murlocs or poison seeds to be in hand and not 2 spiders to be on board. But Raza priest can be countered. Simply even by getting tons of armor with control druid for example. Play your win condition, do tempo, do hand disruption. Find ways, this is the fun of HS :)
They can just not kill the Albatross on turn 4, if they have a Raza in hand. And armouring up as druid does not help, if they have 0 mana dragons and prophet Velen, unless you are doing the linecracker pure armour druid, I guess.
I like that you say "just play the albatross or a rat if you're against priest but against warlock your only hope is if you are lucky to have poison seeds in hand" Mate, like albatross and rat are just magically appearing in everyone's mulligan? I have 2 copies of rats in my druid deck and I only ever drew it twice and it missed raza both times and then the turn after they just played it anyway. Darkest hour druid is cancer, I agree but you can't just say ignore all the other bad and oppressive decks, because the one that gives me the most trouble is the most important one. I can sympathise with you on the darkest hour point, as I am sure you could with me on raza priest, if you were honest. Personally I faced one of them and defeated him using poison seeds but that doesn't mean I am 100% confident every time I face them will be the exact same scenario
Unfortunately there is no other counterplay :( But mostly you can agree that sometimes it is the draw that wins games. Priests can't just always perfectly have everything they need on curve, it's RNG. Otherwise any deck could be busted this way. I run Zihi in my control mage deck and even replay it with zola. Try locking out high mana for opponents to prevent them from doing things like me :^) Complaining is one thing, it does not reach Blizzard in the same day, they change things after a month as usually if entire community is screaming lol. Even if they nerf things, gotta try to battle this stuff for now. I still feel everything is pretty fine in general, I am now more worried about new legendary making 2 infestations and overflow playable on turn 6 😂😂😂 THAT is busted af compared to your Raza issue lmao
Blizz should have never un nerfed Yogg and Raza. Now that everyone can see how they broke wild, Blizz can say "told ya so" and nerf them again. They are also watching secret and exodia mage, dark hourlock and mech pally as well.
Its so nice to not play wild anymore man. This deck was absolutely stupid, with whoever was playing this piece of shit. Since they unnerfed Raza, all those players with 3 brain cells can go back to playing their favourite 'draw Raza by 5, Velen by 7 and Anduin by 8' simulation.
They should have just removed priest from the game if they wanted to add another class. It is either Combo priest and 50/50 Clerics, resurrect priest and 47 copies of Convincing Infiltrator or Highlander priest and 100 damage from hand in one turn with no prior damage on board whatsoever.
Rank 4/5 Wild is 30% Priest (source: my Deck Tracker)
Your deck tracker? Like, you played 3 games, and one was a Priest?
Anyway, that is actually an improvement, if those 30% Priest push out the (actual) 25%+ Mage. The dominance of one class ends, the dominance of another begins, and in this particular case, one combo control decks eats the other, and nothing was lost.
Reno Mage builds up the quest and wins with having one or two extra turns, and Reno Priest wins by getting Raza, Shadowreaper, Velen and a few combo pieces. So, what's the difference? Both decks win with a combo, both decks take a while to get there, both decks use the same insane swing cards (Reno, Kazakus, Zephrys, Dragonqueen), both decks only really lose if they don't have an answer every turn.
To me, it's honestly hard to say what is less fun to play against: Psychic Scream or Reno the Relicologist? Flame Ward or Spirit Lash? What's the difference?! But with most games either being Mage killing everything every turn or Warlock killing everything every turn, I really am kinda indifferent about Priest killing everything every turn. The only way to beat those decks is always the same: try to beat them as fast as possible, and hope that some of their insano cards are actually, for once, at the bottom of their decks.
Also, the high amount of Priest is likely because Raza was unnerfed, and everyone wants to see how good the deck is. But if the deck's peformance is actually not that high, that number will drop again quickly. And I can imagine that Priest won't be doing much better than Mage was. So... yeah, just the same as before, only with Priest instead of Mage.
I doubt it. The deck is probably viable because it has gotten some good AOE cards and more Highlander OP-ness, but with the insane powerlevel of wild now, I do not think it has to be nerfed.
Big priest is a lot more annoying to play against for me anyway.
Just faced my first Raza priest, and it was a fairly easy victory.
It is a combo decks which has a hard time drawing enough, and has next to no win condition if it fails to draw Raza. Mecha'thun lock and other decks seem much stronger.
Everyone saying that "you should get used to wild broken decks, because it is wild" is really stupid. I play wild because I want to play cards that I have and pulled, that I paid for. If this would be physical card game, I can play all cards without someone restricting me to formats. If a deck would be annoying, we would just make agreement with friends to not play certain deck, cos it is stupid/boring/OP. With this it's different, everyone plays anything, and being matched against stupid infinite value, turn four 15+ attack power, resurrect shit is not fun if it is every game you play against.
It is ok to play any deck, but when it becomes extremely frequent even in casual game, the fun ends there.

Well, if you play in competitive any other card game, in most of them you do have formats and restrictions. Even Pokemon TCG lol. And Hearthstone IS a competitive game.

The saving grace is that you can also tech against anything, and there are some insane AOE cards like Poison Seeds and Devolve.
My personal experience, of the meta right now without looking at the numbers: Aggro/tempo: Pirate Warrior, Secret Mage, Mech Paladin, Odd Paladin, (odd hunter)
Grizzled Wizard + Sir Finley Mrrgglton = EZ
Wild is meant to be wild, this is a good change
In wild there are more abusive decks
As compared to standard very few ppl play wild. So please be sympathetic to them. Don't bully them .

If the nerf happens, I really hope for Shadowreaper to get hit. Raza enables cool Inspire cards which are useless otherwise.
Can wild players ever understand that is unable to balance wild ? That is the reason why standard exist
i still think quest mage is better than Raza priest.
@Pestilence_0 What an opinion, do you even play wild? I don't think so. It is perfectly fine, except Darkest hour.

Control: Renolock, Jade Druid, Big/Resurrect priest
Combo/otk: Mecha'thun lock, Toggwaggle Priest, DHlock, Raza Priest
Where do these fit?: Quest Giant mage, Galakrond Rogue
All archetypes are there, and each of them fairly well represented!
