Returning from a few expansion break from Standard, I decided to make a burgle rogue type of deck for fun and test it out in Casual. Low and behold, the same face hunter decks I have been facing in Wild started to pop up over and over and over again. Hunters have a bunch of different decks in wild, so you're not always guaranteed to face an ultra aggressive face hunter, as there are a few spell and quest hunters and various more mid-range decks available, so I didn't even get that tired of Face Hunter in wild since it's pretty easy snacks for a Reno deck with not terrible draw.
After playing casual all day, I feel terrible for anyone with an IQ above 55, who is trying to actually enjoy Standard (and the game) and has to keep facing these decks all day on their grind to whatever rank they want. But I don't really blame the players since Blizzard have ruined Standard Hunter to the point where the class has no alternative to super aggressive face decks, since Blizzard doesn't print any control cards for it, or throws in a one-off control card into an expansion that then gets put into aggro deck fors win more value anyway (IE DK Rexxar and The Newer Hero Card) because it has nothing else to support it in a control deck.
To conclude, I don't blame Face Hunters personally, for doing what they are doing but more so the sad state that your daddy Blizzard has left you, when he went for that pack of cigarettes a year ago, never came back and left the alcoholic and abusive step-dad in charge. But I do blame the people who take face hunter to Casual to bully new players and ruin the fun for anyone trying out fun decks there.
PS. Anyone who comes here to claim Singleton Dragon Hunter deck is not an aggro deck, should just not bother because we both know that's not the truth.
Mech Paladin is very cheap and eats those dragon Hunters for breakfast. Rogue hassn''t been very competitive in Standard for a long time if you ask me. It should be rly strong when played with skill like it used to be but it's not. In Arena it's utter crap as well right now btw.
In Arena Priest is by far the strongest followed by Shaman Warlock and Druid and even Warrior is above average there. That's some nice playable classes to pick from and win. Maybe you should have some fun there? You get to open some packs as well which may come in hnady.
I agree the Hunters are annoying. There's no original gameplay or even a little thinking involved in those matchups.
Edit: I used to be Tunkeeper but Twitch doesnt believe Im not a bot so Tunkeeper is no more :(
Face/aggro hunter is neither strongest nor most annoying meta deck to face. Your perception is influenced by the fact you returned playing after some time, you haven't really experienced expansion so you don't know how to deal with it. Oh and yes, you're an average sheep of the flock who hates hunter. Your prejudices are old too, being aggro isn't hottest insult you can drop atm.
Imagine returning to play after lot of time, you don't know nothing, but you think to open a topic with your analysis. Anyway you're sure that speaking bad about hunter, you'll find haters who will support you.
Face hunter is arguably the single easiest deck in all of hearthstone to counter. Rez priest destroys it, and I don't think control warrior could lose to it even if you afkd.

Ummmm the fact that you said rogue hasn't been very competitive in standard for a long time completely nullifies any opinion you have. I know that's brash, but my god what game have you been playing...
i actually cannot remember the last time rogue was bad. Galakrond rogue is insane. Odd rogue was insane. Keleseth rogue was insane. Tempo/face rogue pre pirate nerf was insane. Rogue is literally one of the only classes that is almost always viable.
As a matter of fact, I would say Druid, rogue, and hunter are the only classes of the 9 that are generally always strong.
That dragon hunter deck is SUPER punchy. I've won way to many games that I was out played on. Hunter is a bit OP right now... but I don't see things substantially changing until the rotation. But even then, Hunter looks like its gonna be strong.

Rez Priest also makes games against any other matchup go for 20-30 minutes. So in the end, the face Hunter still wins with the amount of your life you're wasting per game.

Rogue has one of the strongest, if not THE strongest classic sets in the game, and has been meta in some way for every expansion.
Edwin, Eviscerate, SI:7, Shadowstep, Cold Blood, Prep, Fan of Knives, Backstab, Sap.
They've always been midrange - aggro orientated in the meta. But they've ALWAYS been strong.
Res priest games go as long as it takes to run your opponent out of steam. With hyper aggro decks like face hunter and zoolock you can win before turn 10. A curved out vargoth doubled mass res usually results in a concession on turn 9. If you complete your quest, aggro typically concedes because they know they just lost.

Isn't the point of the game, to play the game?? Do you somehow enjoy the game most if you complete the most amount of games, in the least amount of time? Did I miss a life meeting where we changed the definition of "game" and "fun"?
If you've played 3 games in an hour, you've somehow "wasted" more time than if you had played 10 games in that same hour?
The mindset of some people never fails to amaze me. They treat this game like an opiate addiction. Just cant get away from it. Don't enjoy it, bit NEED to grind. Dopesick if they don't get their 100 gold.

Using “isn’t the point of X to get Y” is a bad argument. Not everyone is in anything to do it the way you think it should be done.
If one enjoys fast paced play, that’s fine. If one enjoys slow paced play, that’s fine too.

Are you simple?
Games are only fun with an objective, and are rewarding when the objective is achieved.
Sitting there waiting for 40 turns to go by to see if the Priest runs out of steam or not, isn't fun, nor rewarding. Nor do many people have time for that garbage. One of the core selling points of Hearthstone is how it's so much faster than games like MTG and Pokemon.
The problem is not the power level (ok, maybe a little) or the lack of a counter, it is how much often the class appear in the ladder.
I always defend should have in the classic set "silver bullets" techs vs specific classes can't be discovered by other cards, only to prevent what happened with shaman in DoD release or with hunter now.
Something like 4 manas 0/1 Battlecry "If your opponent is a hunter get +4/+4 rush and you get 99 armor", of course, should have one of this card to target every class, a completely game winning vs the class you tech and totally useless vs anything else.
No one will use a card like that in your deck in normal circunstances but the fact something like that exists will prevent what happen when one class get too much advantage like hunter now.

Whining about Hunter ? Play Priest.
Whining about Roque ? Play Hunter
Whining about Priest ? Play Roque
Whining about Hu....
Nice meme kid but you missed the point entirely.

you could have posted this in 2014 word for word and it would make sense
Quest hunter is one of the best win rate hunter decks atm and that deck is definetly not aggro.

Ridiculous weak counter point.
Aggro hunter will always be a thing but it’s not broken, hunters hero power just gives him the aggro stamp

Highlander Hunter is not an aggro deck.
