You either play cancer decks like mech and Murloc or you play "fair" value decks that are incredibly slow and get outvalue by any other class, even Hunter.
This has been going on for a full year now, the Year of the Dragon was the worst year for Paladin yet, barely any change in how to play it. No real support to any different archetype that hasn't been there since boomsday.
Just awful. Hopefully the next expansion brings joy to the class again.
Sorry to hear you don’t like the state of the meta. I find this complaint kind of odd though as murloc and mech have been core archetypes for paladin for some time now. However, I do wish dragon pally was better.
And thats why u never put all ur eggs in the same basket. I dont care if one class gets trash tier for sometime as there are various classes to play with
Paladin only was T1 or even T2 when it had a strong aggro deck. Best paladin decks were secret pally, call to arms and odd paladin. But those 3 decks, specially the last 2 had a very important card that make them viable and strong. Divine Favor.
Pally has no decent hand refill now. Mech pally is decent, but they had to buff Crystology, and the good 1 attack minions for pally are mechs, but he has no other ways to do that, and that makes any aggro pally deck bad vs control.
Any other archetype of pally was never that good, but after the nerf of Equality is even worse.

Having a class forced into requiring a tribe is so fucking stale though. It's not even as if Paladins can afford to play anything legitimate with those tribes that isn't a face deck, because any non-face deck that doesn't have huge swing turns like Strength in Numbers, Alexstrasza, the Galakronds, or Mass Res is just unplayable.
2 Mana spell like devolve, that removes enchantments is actually op, they need to nerf it.
Mass dispell seems fair at 4, so devolve should go at 4.
Two Aggro decks should win tempo over each other by trading mostly. Whereas when you face even shaman they just devolve and trade, that's unfair. Paladin should be able to fight back by trading with devolved minions just by playing 2 Mana equality at early stages.
What are you talking about? Paladin has the most busted hero power in the game! If there were no cards Pal would beat every other class, eventually slamming you in the face every turn for SEVEN damage.

Because of that you cannot be right.
Except there is mage that can ping your 1-1 off as you make them and the same for druid .... I feel like I'm missing something here.
I don't understand all this "woe is me" stuff around Paladin. According to hsreplay it's the second best class. Mech Paladin works - at least the class has a deck which functions. It might not be what you like to play, but it even has a tier 2 combo deck that works. Not all the classes can say the same.
For me they tried to push way too many themes in this year for paladin and in result we had grand memefest, most of my ladder games this year was huntard since i were never fan of fishes smorc aggro or solitaire shrivalah doom beam, lets hope that for next rotation blizz will take other route for this class.
Mech Paladin is a strong deck but it's the only viable archetype really. And it's an aggro deck so if you don't enjoy those you're out of luck. It's also entirely dependent on the Boomsday neutral cards which will be gone in April.
Those of us who enjoy a strong mid-range Paladin build have had a brutal year. Paladin truly got the shaft this year. The crap legendaries are the worst part of it. Not a single Paladin legendary this year has been worth getting excited about. They range from mediocre to terrible.
I can accept some classes have good years and bad years, but it's hard to shake the feeling there was a clear intention to ruin this class.
That being said, everything changes in April. Maybe this will be a strong year for Paladin, and a return to some of its roots with some good silver-hand synergy. Here's hoping.

Are you telling me that a 10 mana 4/12 that heals both heroes to full health is terrible compared to a 10 mana 4/12 that gives you a free spell and allows you to cheat up to a 10 mana spell every turn it's up?!?!
It's continued fallout from the nerf to equality. Pyro equality combo was great for slow value decks - and it died to nerf that stupid over-draw holy wrath combo deck....what a waste.
I like how most replies are saying to play mech pally when OP very clearly said the only successful decks are cancer decks for paladin...
I actually have been playing a fun Highlander Dragon Pally homebrew deck for some time that has ~65% win rate from rank 5-3. It's a nice change of pace that no one expects.

Dragon Pally is like the Freeze Shaman of this rotation. Which is ultra sad because I love dragons and I actually hoped for a good dragon deck.
No, dragon hunter is a hunter deck and therefore absolutely disgusting.

mech pala its fine
The class lost its power ever since equality was nerfed to death.
Devolve just kills this deck.

Ok you got me there. And it wouldnt be a stalemate since they would win in fatigue (mage gets one last ping off).
Therefore Dru and Mage are the most op classes in game but Pal is a close 3rd and this author has problems.

Idk I climbed to rank 5 with ease with my otk holy wrath your face for 25 dmg. Only real weakness is rogue. Druid is easy mode and so Is most aggro.
There is an "Salty Thread" for the oosts like your one.
