believe it or not but the very vast majority of other humans you share a planet with wants only what is good for you. such as, lets say... creating a card based game for you to have fun with others? and without any will to harm or steal all your oh-so-precious money by tricking or rigging everything. maybe it sounds more theory for you atm, but you can try to start accepting the idea. because its just the plain truth.
Each of the play modes has a player-matching algorithm, but "officially" the algorithms are matching available players by RANK (Standard/Wild/Arena) or MMR (Casual), NOT by deck choice or class.
Hearthstone is not Call of Duty, and it does not have microtransactions as such. However, if they are doing it in one game, why not another?
It is in the company's interest to flatten out win rates as much as possible in order encourage players to spend more. It could be that they rate player's collection by spending and match low-spending players with high-spending players to reward the big spenders and frustrate the frugal ones.
However, there's just no proof that they are doing it in Hearthstone besides limited anecdotes.
I don't agree with this. If I win more, I'm more likely to spend money on cosmetics and continue playing. If I lose, I'm more likely to close the game and play something else.
Oh yeah, there is absolutely a system in place to throw counter decks at you and make it impossible for you to win, so don't worry, it's not your fault at all when you lose, you don't need to feel bad about it.
That said, every time you win, it's because YOU were the counter deck being used against some other poor unfortunate player, so your skill has nothing to do with it, and you are not actually entitled to any pride for winning. Sorry!

WTF?! ALL MY WINS ARE 100% SKILL!
It's only when my win streak ends that the game is rigged. My decks are all undefeatable masterpieces of pure genius, unless you cue them against the perfect counter, which happens to be around 43% of all decks...
They have each card weighted and they also know their counter so whenever you change your deck or your cards in it the algorithm changes the opponent you'll face.
Try for science, put N'Zoth, God of the Deep or Kazakusan , play 5 matches then remove those cards. Your opponent's classes and deck will change accordingly.

Even if the game only had 2 playable decks this method would tell you nothing friend. There are way too many possible match-ups for 5 repetitions to give ANY usable data. Try 40+ games with each deck and see if the ramp druid count moves from a "normal" 10-20% to 1% or 40%. Then you have two nice samples, that together with several others can give some insight. Use https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-report-227/ as your reference. Unless you play A LOT and diverge A LOT, then you don't have anything to back your theory sadly.
Still not a single priest since I teched silence and my first post is three pages back and I've played many games since.
Matchmaking is totally legit.
Hoy shit! It's so obvious! I wonder why every other player or data tracker doesn't see something this obvious. A mystery it must be.
I'm not the only one and your obtuseness is obvious.
There is also more than one person who is convinced the earth is flat, believes in chem trails, bigfoot, etc. They all use the same argument you do and are also narcissists.
Fact of the matter is most people are just really bad at understanding things with a large amount of variables and in large numbers along with a limited understanding of probability and statistics. The amount of games being played per hour is already enormous. Then add in that not every one has the same cards so they don't play the same decks. They also have don't make the same decisions or see the same deck order. Then add in that the meta changes based on rank and that people are constantly adjusting to the meta. Unfortunately, you and you're matches just aren't the center of the universe. It's an aggregate of all the players. Get over it bro.
reading this thread feels just like watching people arguing that god, unicorns and whatever eastern rabbits are aiming thunderstrikes, *because reasons* (tm).

I've been playing the game for seven years. Matchmaking is not random.

And you mean "your", bro.
I've been playing since open beta homie. What's your point?
Try making a real argument instead of just brushing things off. You just don't understand statistics, probability, and don't see how many variables are involved. Just like every other conspiracy theorist who treats real data as fake or made up by evil greedy people.
And yes you are a narcissist. You have the audacity to think that your particular tiny data set means something and that you in particular have seen through everything and have seen what others cannot. This would include large data tracking sites.
Thanks for the grammar correction though. My quality of life just went up because of it.

I played 20-25 games in Standard. The majority of them were Priest.
I tech silence.
Since then I have not seen a single Priest and it's been another 20 or so games.
Plenty of people have experienced this exact same thing throughout the years.
But you keep rambling on about statistics and variables because you need to make yourself sound smarter than you actually are.
On top of learning the difference between "you're" and "your", you should also learn the definition of narcissist.

Maybe you should learn about statistics and probability like I said. Then you'll actually have perspective. Holy shit 20 games who cares? There's probably at least 200,000 games being played at any given moment that will show that your experience is just a tiny outlier. I've seen crazier shit dude. You're conflating a tiny local occurrence and saying that represents the whole because a couple other random people on this site (which represents the tiniest of fractions of players) said so too (with no proof). That's a huge logical fallacy.
If your only argument is my grammar at this point, then you can have that one. I'll happily give it to you if it makes you feel like you got me on something so you can save face with people you don't even know lol.

its more complex than that, there's an internal MMR that factors in your playtime, overall wins, etc.
It can give you more win-streaking players when you are win-streaking and lose-streaking players when the inverse is true.
The conspiracy is if the game matches you with archetype counters more often, which is unlikely (blizzard's analytic AI is terrible).
ask Blizz to publish MM code on git. its probably 10 lines of code:
"
while true:
for each rank category:
random_player_from(waiting_pool) start_game_with() random_player_from(waiting_pool);
"
you are discussing about something which does not exist.
