I either get good luck streaks or bad luck streaks. this is the norm for the most of time for 5 years.
this is the interesting part. I usually dont get good-bad-good-bad... matchups or draws. its either good-good-good... or bad-bad-bad-... for few hours straight. for example, I play ungoro quest rogue in ladder and have the perfect mulligan for 10 games straight (best cards to draw up to turn 3); then the other day I lost like 13 games in a row due to all my bounce-back cards were at the bottom (turn 7 and still no quest progress, etc.)
Yes. This is more or less the experience for everyone. But as the experiment of today suggests, the matchmaking system is not rigged. However, human psychology tends to remember the unlucky moments compared to the lucky ones and this in general true. That's human nature that works in this way.
If instead the game is rigged in the card draw, this is another topic and it is very difficult to test. So here, we can keep the benefit of the doubt. Anyway, the human being tends to remember the times he loses with the top deck and not those he wins on the top deck.
trying to make sense of perfectly pure-random events is a waste of your time :) . one could argue computers are not capable of pure random, but it is sufficiently random enough. just enjoy the random()-ride and dont think too much about it ^^

agreed. thats why I didnt want to come to a conclusion.
100 games (only concede) on silver 10: more Shamans and DH, almost no Rogues compared to VS's GSB ranking from last week. Took about an hour.
(I doubt that this will put the topic to rest though - because reasons.)
Thank you very much Banur for your effort.
Based on this data, it seems clear to me that the game is not rigged in the matchmaking system. It seems a closed point for me.
Do a thousand games at the gate to diamond 5 or legend and I bet you get very different results. Pretty funny how someone who has always defended blizzard was now believing that the game was rigged until one post of 100 games at silver with concedes suddenly convinced him otherwise. Nice little puppet show.
These people who claim that match making is rigged, do they face absolutely obscure deck distributions over many games or are they just complaining that the first three games they played weren't against ramp druid all of a sudden?
Like if you faced the same anti aggro shaman deck 12 games in a row just after switching to your anti ramp druid trogg fest, I can understand, but why is it that it's only the chill people who can take a screenshot of their deck tracker?

I think he was playing devil's advocate to get someone to present data that could be verified. You on the other hand have presented nothing of substance. You're just like all the other conspiracy theorists who claim it's so obvious. If it's so obvious why can't everyone else see it? Are you smarter than everyone else?
I hardly see anyone defending Blizzard here. They just don't attack them on things when there is no evidence. You know, behaving like normal rational people.

yes, rational smart people trust activision and blizzard to not seek profit and behave honorably.

No, just innocent until proven guilty. You know, rational thinking.

Yes. 3nnu1. I was playing the devil's advocate because I like data and I like conclusions based on data. Therefore, even though I had thought that the game was rigged in the matchmaking system, my opinion changed instantly with the data.
Everyone can express his opinion, but in the end, only data matters.
100 is a good sample data (especially in this experiment where it was 100 vs the same deck) therefore for me the conclusion is clear and it is that the game is not rigged in the matchmaking system. You can increase the data to 1000 if you want, but it is a pointless experiment for me. Numbers are so aligned with that official (vicious syndicate) that I see no reason to go deeper.
What we don't know is if the game is rigged in the card draw, we have not tested this. So we can keep the benefit of the doubt on this topic.
Anyway, I am very far from defending Blizz (which is indefensible with what they did).
harassment
bad design
total detachment with consumers
the terrible situation for mercenaries
pay for everything
marketing close to the scam
and so on
In fact, I am and I remain very disappointed with Blizz.
yes, rational smart people trust activision and blizzard to not seek profit and behave honorably.
Nobody said that. Also nobody said that there are no tweaks to chance, like match making or pity counters on packs, that certainly are meant to make you have more fun and hopefully spend more money. But if somebody makes money from a chance based game, they also know that any proof of them completely rigging the game is end of business for them. Match making may respond faster to a recent win/loss streak now than years back (I don't know), which may end up setting you up against more meme decks only after several losses. Generally I face a pretty good representation of the meta, so claiming that the decks are set to counter mine would be silly of me.
We also had this talk last year and the one before. People claimed that control decks are matched against there counters. I faced 35% demon hunter in diamond 10-3 while playing control warrior, just like the pre-nerf meta would predict. I made a deck to counter aggro, I faced aggro and a couple decks trying to do the same.

i did read you better. glad you re at peace now
maybe devs can put the MM code on github so this non sense just doesn't start at all

"Woow..."
But I was at peace with the topic. I was only curious to see data and now thanks to Banur we have it.
I think there were reasons to think that the game was rigged. However, the data does not say this. So, it is not.
I am not in peace for the excess of coins in mercenaries. But this is another topic.
Rigged Faire Game LOL
"Woow..."
Anyway, It was a cool experiment and thanks again to Banur. Now we know with math that the game is not rigged.
the thing I experience in HS ladder is:
I either get good luck streaks or bad luck streaks. this is the norm for the most of time for 5 years.

It’s rigged for sure.
no brainer. All these people are idiots that argue against it.
it’s not human psychology. Of course blizzard would code it that way. How else do you control?
put nothing past @blizzard.
this game is just another online casino.
You seem the idiot here.

Still not a single priest since I teched silence and my first post is three pages back and I've played many games since.
Matchmaking is totally legit.
Hoy shit! It's so obvious! I wonder why every other player or data tracker doesn't see something this obvious. A mystery it must be.
