I remember when the game was up to a year old. People tried different types of decks, some slow, some fast, some based on card draw but most of all, every game you met a different style.
Now, it's all about that brainless rushing, which takes no thinking at all. I'm not losing to most of them, but that's not the point, the point is that it's super boring to face the same god damn "flood the board with cheap minions"-gamestyle every game.
How does GvG look, do you think it will get rid of rush or will it just get worse? If so, I'm switching back to Magic, which even if it gave me a headache from other sources, at least has variety in what opponents play.
I'm pretty sure that GvG will bring diversity back to the game. People will try out all the new possibilities until the most consistent decks will get popular again. I'm afraid that these will be mostly rush decks, because you can aqquire rank stars much faster with them and they're cheap to make. But I'm pretty certain the first weeks after the release GvG will be awesome.
Yes most decks nowadays are rush however you can still have a control deck and be relevant. Shamans as well run a very burst deck and have answers for rush decks as well.
I do agree that GvG will help contain these rush decks much better than the decks now but to say that its nothing but rush isn't necessarily to.
OP you introduce this topic like its some sort of revelation. The votes are in and the consensus is people are sick of undertaker 'insert class here' face rush decks. But please no more, at least wait for GvG to release before resuming this monotonous chorus.
I'm not so sick of Aggro just the OP Huntard deck all the noobs play on ladder these days. I disliked zoo but in reality that was a pretty fair deck and had its counters. Hunter as it is dominates so many match ups and it means to play ladder you either have to lose any self respect and join them or run a anti hunter deck - which is just boring. So the meta has become the most stale it ever has been. Good job GvG will change things up in a big way.

How to become ∞ at arena: - practice, practice, win, dominate, profit.
I agree that rush decks are played alot, but we still have a pretty wide meta compared to pre-naxx where at any given time you mostly met 2-3 decks out of the 6 rotating in the meta (Control Warr, Miracle, MidHuntard, Zoo, Handlock, Ramp Druid)
In my recent games I have met Hunter, Zoo, Deathrattle Priest, Shaman, Control Priest and Control Warr. I feel that the meta is more wide, but at the same time it is more stale in the way that each class mostly got 1-2 archtypes that are used almost identically.
I have a good feel that Ramp Druid, Control Priest and Demonlock will be more used once GvG hits due to the really nice legendaries and other choices they have available.

Still trying to get legendary, after a years hovering in ranks 5-1. Ranking of classes based on power and enjoyment playing it:
1. Mage - Tempo/Mech/Freeze 2. Druid - Standard Midrange Ramp 3. Hunter - Midrange/Face 4. Paladin - Midrange/Control 5. Warrior - Standard Control 6. Rogue - Sprint Oil 7. Priest - Control 8. Warlock - Handlock/Zoo 9. Shaman - Mech/Midrange
Aggro decks aren't brainless there is skill involved holding back making good trades there is thought if you're just throwing things on the board then you're doing it wrong and MTG isn't any better its full of aggro decks right now
I think GvG will definitely change things up. But I totally agree with you, even in Casuals all I see is fucking Huntertakers…it's pretty ridiculous.
I remember trying to have a discussion with someone about how although Naxxramas included more options for constructing decks, it severely diluted the Meta, they just kept insisting that I was an idiot though and that there's way more variability now.
Play 7 games, 6 of which are Hunter with the identical deck...…Mhhmmmm sooooo much variability this season

Not really. Do mind that I'm not super hardcore in MTG, I mostly play Duels of the Planewalkers, but every opponent you face there plays their own deck and there is really not a set "meta".
Nah won't happen. Everyone agreed to not even touch the new cards and just ignore GvG all together, just like everyone did with Naxx Why would there be any reason for people to try something new when we have all the fun stuff already.
There are aggro decks that can shut down rush hunter. There are control decks that can shut down rush hunter even harder. (While anecdotal, I was playing Warrior dailies and won 3 games due to hunters seeing a warrior and auto conceding).
If you are constantly losing, I'm not sure it's the rush decks fault.
I felt last two seasons wasn`t that bad actually. I played a ton of games The two last months around rank 1-5 and i met :
Aggro: 31% hunters, 7% zoo, 3% aggromage(And one aggro pala/warrior here and there) = 41% aggro
The rest was mostly control or midrange/combo decks. Though i do agree that hunter was too strong last season i still feel that i met a lot of different decks. I do hope that in GvG we get a more diverse meta but i do not hate to play against aggro. Actually it`s refreshing to play a more fast paced game after you played a 20min control MU.
I do not understand the complains. First, there is nearly none Aggro deck played on ladder. Hunter decks are rarely aggro, them are Tempo oriented and them are easy to stop if you remove 2-3 key elements. The same case with Zoo. If you know how to handle a Warlock Zoo dec you do mostly win, unless you draw really bad while he draws really good.
What i see on ladder are a lot control decks. Warrior, Priest & Druid i am matching mostly. If you lose to Hunter and Warlock decks the problems lies probably in your playstyle. Try to improve!
I actually would like an option to opt to "not fight a particular class" on ladder. Kind of like how in Lol or Dota you can choose to ban certain hero choices from the match. The only problem there is this could easily be abused, so I would think maybe the settings could only be used a set limit of matches.

I can agree with this. Usually I use a fast hunter deck to climb at the beginning of the season to around 10 and have no issues. Now I've had to switch to a control pally and druid deck at 14 because every other game is just cont priest, which I can only win with hunter if I'm lucky with draws in the first few turns. All I hear on this site is "OMG too much hunter and aggro, why doesn't blizz change the entire game to appeal to me?" but not only is hunter easy to beat if you just take some time to think a few turns ahead, but it's not even as prevalent as other annoying decks, and really easy to counter combos (kill off all 'beasts' for Kill Command, never have more than 2 minions, always assume they have a Freezing Trap)

"I knew it!" - Doomsayer
All i want is ban option on ladder. Then this game will be fun for me again.
Only way to get that is to write a letter to Blizzard, maybe they have a leftover banhammer for you.

Caution: Steep Incline (Ramp Druid)
Agree with OP.
When a Druid went Coin Undertakerx2 yesterday at rank 5, I was totally thrown off guard. Did entirely wrong mulligan. Lost the game.
Meta changes the moment you switch your deck.
Lol nice joke bro.
The major difference is that there is a hero cycling mechanism in LoL and more than 9 total characters available.
