I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I wonder if anyone has tips or faced the same problem. In short: I lost my emailadress and don't remember with what name I made my hearthstone account, thus blizzard doesn't want to help me recover my account. Last week I had to confirm my account with my emailadress and it turned out I lost this account. It is blocked and I can't provide enough information to outlook to recover it. I turned to blizzard and had to give my name (and afterwards probably birthday etc.), but turned out I gave up some bullshit answers 5 years ago when I made the account. I've got plenty of other information to prove it is my account (bank statements, screenshots and they can probably see from what computer I played), but it seems that is not enough.
I play daily, have a pretty complete collection and put some money in it, so obviously I want my account back. Do you have some tips for me in this position or have had the same problem? Please let me know.
As it should be. I think they learned a good lesson from Microsoft's support team back in the day. due to social engineering , why would they provided you with anything or confirm it is you if you can't provide full details of your account. Usually if you know the Credit card and email address, they will reset your password for you. Oh wait, now I remember. They learned their own lesson from WOW days, when all you needed was an email address to steal someone's account. Keep your account details in a word document. ps. sorry for your loss
Regardless of your situation, they truly are rude to talk to aren't they. Sometimes all you need is a small snippet of conversation to see that the person you're talking to seems like quite the prick.
@ DiamondDM13 When I made my account, I had no idea I was going to play for so long so I just put in some random stuff. I don't like to give real information neither, especially when I don't know what kind of game/company you're dealing with yet. Well, let's see what comes out of it
@ Majora Yeah, I was surprised by that aswell. On some occasions I also bought some stuff, so I would think it is also good for them to keep me playing
You should be happy that they aren't willing to give you access to the account when you don't have the information. It shows that they actually want to keep your account secure.
"Hey, I need a new password"
"Sure, what's the account?"
"Blahby47"
"OK, great, what is the name and email on the account?
"No idea, and I can't get in to the email because I don't know that password either"
"Uhhh... wow, yeah, this is a pretty terrible hacking attempt. I'll play along for now, I guess"
it sucks but its why you never fuck around with account security information unless you are going to immediately throw it away after you used it for the purpose you were going to use it for.
When you put payment processing into the mix companies are extremely no-nonsense about account restoration.
@Lorcen It's a little more complicated. I know passwords from both my email and hearthstone account. I was traveling abroad and wanted to play hearthstone so I downloaded the game on mobile. Because I was in another country I had to confirm with my emailadress. When I tried to access my email, I had to confirm that one aswell, because I hadn't used it in a long time. It is my 'spamemail' for games and advertisements, when I made it like 10 years ago I just put in some bullshit name, birthday etc. So this one is blocked and probably gone permanently. So then I turned to customer service from Hearthstone and explained the situation and had to confirm it was me with my name on the Hearthstone account. Turned out, I didn't use my own name when I made it. As you can see on the picture, communication was directly blocked when I couldn't give up the name on the account. They also blocked my account on the blizzard forum, so I can't ask for help there anymore neither. I'm not asking for them to just give up all information to anyone who asks, just to help me prove it is me who wants his account back. I can't imagine there is no other way to confirm it.
TL;DR
I'm not asking for them to just give up all information to anyone who asks. But there must be other ways to prove it is me who wants his account back.
That reply awfully reminds me of indian "tech support" people, i had the same problem with wargaming where i left the email that doesnt exist anymore thus they kept declining my account reset. Make another profile then request account/data migration to that new one. Thats how i solved the problem.
So....... how is it blizzards fault that you’re an idiot and don’t remember your details? Why didn’t you write them down? It’s not that blizzard doesn’t want to help your account. Financially, it makes sense for them to help as much as they can. Sucks to be you.

This yer... Blizzard customer support is terrible. Automated mails and rude 'Gamemasters'. These are the same people who ban for toxicity.
Just 'no' and 'good bye'. Zero help. Not even a suggestion what other things you cold try to get your account back.

It honestly sounds like you're trying to hack someone else's account. You literally cannot give a single piece of valid information about the account, which is ridiculous.
Sounds like u fucked your self over be to Causes of ur information. And if you where playing over seas won’t u just be abt to log from mobile if u knew email and p w.

You were too careless mate, be honest next time.
