I am considering committing to playing wild more than standard because it just seems more fun plus there are way more fun decks, is it worth investing dust and gold on wild cards? and does anyone have any fun deck ideas? i am open to anything
Financially wise yes. It doesn't make sense to pay/grinds for cards and only play them for 12-16 months.
Wild is always useful when Standard gets stale. Like right now. The problem though is that wild has a lot of bullshit and overpowered decks and cards and the hearthstone team doesn't bother to balance wild often because it doesn't make them money. So it's up to you and what you want to get from the game mode.
if you are bored with hearthstone then yes it does. I have a blast even playing casual with shit meme decks in wild. But i'm not competitive anymore, so i dont know if that fits your style
I think that the only way for you to know is to play wild for some time. See if you enjoy it. To play a game mode is to play your decks but also the decks you opponents will play it, so even if you don't have a lot of the old cards, don't bother it. Just play the mode, try to rank up and see what you like about it. You do see a lot of different decks, especially on lower ranks. The more you climb the more you will see meta decks, but even then there are a lot of random decks. There is also a lot of people goofing around and memeing around on rank floors (15, 10, 5)..
I vary a lot between wild and standard, sometimes I tend to favour one, other times the other. But overall I would say I do enjoy wild a bit more.. and if you do enjoy the mode just go to your favorite classes and craft decks and goof around with decks.. avoid crafting cards, focus on decks, I think it works better..
on youtube solem has a beginner guide to start in wild, so check his channel.. you can also check for dane, roffle, control.. they all have youtube channels with great content and focused on wild.. I know that you can check dane's decks here in hearthpwn:
I would say absolutely if you intend to play for a long time. Having a few cool wild decks you really enjoy is the cheapest way to play, and the safest if you ever take an extended time away or anything like that.
Wild is worth it, certainly. Just prepare yourself to get beat by stuff 20x more absurd than you do in standard. Do your research. There's some decks you can pretty much consider evergreen like a poster previously mentioned in Jade Druid. It's not my cup of tea but if it's yours than go at it. Highlander Mage, Warlock and Priest (if you are feeling especially confidant..) are evergreen as well, so it seems.
If you enjoy this game, playing Wild is inevitable, so just do it already.

The Wild meta is in a good spot right now. Warlock is a safe bet because it has many strong archetypes that do well.
You will run into decks such as:
Jade Druid
Togg Druid
Secret Mage
Quest Reno Mage
Highlander Hunter
Mech Hunter
Deathrattle Hunter
Mech Paladin
Odd Paladin
Reno Priest
Reno Warlock
Cube Warlock
Mecha'thun Warlock
Darkest Hour Warlock
Even Shaman
Pirate Warrior
Odd Rogue
Well done! I have played a bit of wild lately, and this covers all the wild specific archetypes I have encountered lately, except the odd zoolock, (dragon) evenlock and a very weird dragon hunter I beat fairly easily.
Galakrond decks are also played in Wild, usually with some obvious inclusions like Brann Bronzebeard or the pirate package for warrior.
The variety is pretty nice, and the latest expansion did indeed have some impact even there. Brace yourself for some pretty fast and disgusting plays, though, especially in the hands of Voidcaller and Ship's Cannon.
If you plan to play hearthstone for the next 10 years yeah, head on over to wild. Rank5 to legend meta is absolute dog ****. Decks like quest mage with rng cyclone with 3 extra turns/ darkest hour warlock that instantly wins on turn 5 is so tilting. But yeah head on over to wild.

Sounds better than facing only 2 decks each standard season

Yes. Try it, play different decks. It's worth it, if only to play Coldlight Oracle again.
If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
