But a long awaited Hero card, apparently here as the balance to Galakrond, should be attractive to most people who play that class and useable in a competitive deck.
Plus Blizzard showing us the good part of the card as a giant tease before revealing how unplayable the hero power was is just plain wrong. Just show the whole card right away rather than get people emotionally excited then shit in our hands.
It's like I ordered a steak at a restaurant. The waitress brought it over slowly with swagger. The sear looked perfect, the seasoning just about right, good thickness and looked juicy. She puts it down in front me, now I can smell it and have imagined eating it several times over. She whispers softly in my ear "You okay with paying for this now?" "Fo sho!" I whip out my wallet and lay down the cash. She takes the cash then she smiles and proceeds to squirt half a bottle of ketchup on top of it and walks away.
Yes, this would better. I would much rather have a random spell come to my hand and have to pay to use it then have it cast for free on a random target.
This card basically made the greatest devide between players who like fun and those who like competitive decks
This obviously won't be anywhere near T1, but it's a damn fun card to play.
I love fun and I love random. Some of my favorite cards and mage cards are Random cards. But I would LIKE something competitive. Especially in a world ruled by Galakronds (which get value throughout the game without even being played) and face decks. Mage is constantly fighting for the worst class spot in Hearthstone. I don't think wanting a nice, consistent competitive deck is a bad thing.

I love everything about this card, but it sucks to see so many people believing a children's card game means real business. We live in a sad little world, that's for sure... :(

I think you guys are wrong let me tell you why: This card is a better Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saronyou only use it when you're already losing and and you beg for luck to clean your enemy board.
this card will 100% do it for you. if you're paying 10 mana to survive one extra turn this is the BEST card.
There's no argument that the main effect isn't solid. But rebuilding from there becomes tough an unpredictable with random spells going off every turn.

So you use it once to clear the board and just hope your opponent can't drop minions onto an uncontested board? If your opponent can't kill you on their turn, you get one chance each turn for a random spell to benefit you. There are so many spells that will whiff and do nothing. With Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron, 10 spells are cast meaning you get 10 chances for a beneficial spell. This hero power won't activate 10 times in one game. You can play the Box and essentially get the same benefit of this passive hero power 10 times at once.
But let's say you are playing against a Galakrond Warrior. Turn 10, you play this, clear the board. On the warrior's turn, he plays Galakrond, the Unbreakable, draws four minions and gives them +4/+4, uses hero power, hits you for 8. It goes back to your turn, you cast one spell, one that could target you or him or one of his minions for either negative or beneficial effect. It switches back to the warrior, he hits you for another 8 for a total of 16 damage over two turns. That's just from the hero alone and not factoring in minions.
Its battlecry is extremely strong, but it just loses out to the Galakronds because its hero power is HIGHLY inconsistent.

so basically you wanted the card to win the game for you ?
if you didnt had any card in hand like your example...well you deserve to lose no ?
reno will buy you one turn. if you dont have nothing to play that's it. IF the random spell clear your enemy board agian GOOD youre luck.
if you get pyro in the face... well... you would be dead anyway if you didnt play him

No, I want something to be competitive. Frost Nova and Blizzard can both buy you one more turn too. Box of Yogg can buy you one more turn. This battlecry if fun, the Hero power is neat. But the fact of the matter is this isn't what Mage is in need of right now.

those 2 are good they slow your enemy but the problem is still there. reno will clear the board. and next turn you can start contesting it again.
IF mage will gt alive till turn 10 is another problem... the class is weak right now for sure, i can understnad you wanting a OP card for it.
but reno is not a win more card like lich jaina its a last hope play. it clean the borad and tive you 5 hp so you MAYBE can turn around the game.
if control mage became a thing it will be in every deck.
I don't think we need another Jaina, but I think it would have been helpful to give it something more than just survive one extra turn and HOPE RNG works in your favor. I honestly would have taken the Quest hero power over this one.
The hero power may seem poor and horrible but remember when they announced Zul'jin and that most complained about the hero power but obviously you wanted him for his battlecry and with Zul'jin you could clean board and generate board depending on the spells you cast.
In theory it can be horrible for the RNG but in execution you could be good also maybe the effect disappear maybe not only affects the board but also from the hand and deck of both players, if it works like this it will be viable for the lategame, only spells, weapons , hero cards, etc.
I want chapter 4 to come out to make a roleplay deck, if only I knew how to fix the broken image icon.
I'm excited to play it.

I'm glad they didn't give Reno an absurd hero power. If it was even marginally better than the starting hero power, it would be run in most decks.
I, for one, will enjoy this card in my Yogg deck.
