Are we sure Reno won't poof minions both in hands and decks except from board? Cause if battlecry silence and destroy on board minions, HP is just same old boring rng, in an aready stuffed in rngs mage class. But if this poof destroy, discard and burn all minions everywhere, this is a whole new playstyle, just spells, hero cards, weapons and passive random spells every round till sudden death..
Wow, that's bad. Like... Really bad. Yes, sometimes you'll get to pyroblast opponent and steal the win. But when you get twisting nether when you have lethal on board is not gonna be so nice anymore.
And to think that I was worried HP would be 'summon a random vanished minions'... Big guy every turn for 2 mana. Not even close.
It doens't matter if it's bad or good, it says random that means auto-include in mage decks.
I like to create a deck that is multi facetted. Decks that have a single purpose like face Hunter don't excite me. I want every game to be different, each stage of the battle a creative puzzle to be figured out. I want chess not checkers.
BUT I DO want it to be mostly structured. Adding some dynamic play options with Discover is great. But Casino random is garbage time. I don't even play Puzzle Box in my Highlander Mage deck for this reason. I want to win because I was smart enough to win. I want to play poker not slots.
The new Mage hero is garbage to me now... And I was so stoked about him but now he's gone *Poof!*
I hope this is mistaken, if not it’s an unbelievable letdown. I’ve been excitedly awaiting a new Mage hero card, and this would completely take the wind outta that sail.
One random spell each turn could be anything from a useless side quest like Secure the Deck, to Myras Unstable Element. Even when you get a good spell it may be cast on a bad target.
I don’t want random games, I was hoping for something less lazy then this casinomage fixation. The Quest has proven to be pretty sad and still they give us this.
Great job Blizzard. You've managed to kill Reno twice with this. First you made the pretty boring Relicologist (I won't say bad because a 6 mana 10 damage board clear+body isn't bad but it's boring) and now you teased us with a hero card that's utterly unplayable. Unless Mage gets a legendary that reads "Battlecry: Your RNG is now good for the rest of this match" this card will only see play in the most randumb of decks.
Anybody who thinks this is a strong hero power is an idiot.
This is by far the worst hero power in the game. What a disappointment.
and whats the problem with that?, most of the time you play this for the battlecry which is insane, why the hero powr must be broken aswell?, later people cry about the op that cards are.
not really, discover makes the spell pool be only mage, yes, mage has bad spells, but im pretty sure that would make the hero power consistently strong since a lot of them are good, even potentialy good besides the potential rgn target backfire

In Wild it's pretty easy to make your deck 60 Scroll of Wonders. That deck is terrible.
Maybe developer should add "random" to their monthly salary figure.
If the card didn't cost 10 mana I would say the new Hero Power is an interesting and appropriate drawback to the powerful battlecry effect

Would be better if they just changed it to e.g. - "Passive: Discover a random spell at the start of your turn".
Casting Twisting Nether on your turn willl be a disaster.
