Seriously - this little dude is more rage inducing than the old double shadowstep Leeroy. It's supremely anoying to have game after game ruined because of a single card which pretty much ensures a positive outcome regardless of the situation and breaks all the rules of deck building in a predictable way. The fact that he often has a solution for every game state with the only requirement of no duplicates is just wrong. The pentalty for no duplicates doesnt even seem that severe anymore as there are so many similar and versatile cards out there for each class. They also made him an elemental which (for the moment) means you can tutor him out your deck as well - woot!
I rejoice when I see him played on turn two.
I know people will argue that he requires skill to get the right outcome and maybe that's true to a point, however I just don't think a single card should ever offer the versatility that he does.
He should give you three wishes total then be removed from your cardpool forever - just like a "real" genie in a lamp.... /s
Like any card he is what you make of him. If anything he’s just a semi-universal tech card with the added option of finding lethal in the right instance. I think he’s a good addition to the game but I also favor flexible decks over linear ones.
I agree that there are bigger problems than Zeph - but he's still a problem. To be honest I think my time with this game might be coming to an end. There are just too many BS decks and Blizz seems to change it's tune about the philosophy of the game with each new release. Maybe there will be some new meta defining cards all for a reasonable sum in the new dungeon /s
There shouldn't be a card that allows every deck to have any win condition it needs - i. e. Fireballs for decks that usually can't bypass taunts, Bloodlust for decks that don't count on flooding the board, etc.
It just ruins "identity" and makes it normal to run 2x 8/8s into 2x 1/1s because you're at 8 and opponent might have zeph xD
I would rather lose a game to a top-decked pyroblast on 10 health than lose to some BS Zeph nonsense. At least the oponent had to put the pyro (or whatever else) in their deck and play out the game with those consequences. Zeph is just too flexible and it feels really crappy when you lose to him.
If there should be any change to him at all - is that he can activate only in highlander decks.
I agree with this change. Highlander cards should only be usable in Highlander decks and not decks that draw a lot (i.e. quest druid, holy wrath pally, etc.). The card condition should be checked at the start of the game not when the card is played.

I think they print more really spicy cards like zephrys, these kinds of cards are what make hearthstone unique. I can't think of another game where a mechanic like this exists or is even possible.
I also disagree with the premise that he just feels bad to lose to. It doesn't bother me at all. It's just your opinion that he's annoying and that should not be cause for removing him. Other people enjoy him a lot as part of the game.
I've won because of him, and I've lost because of him.
I've stolen some games with him, and had sure-fire wins stolen from me by him.
I get being salty. Trust me, I do.
The card looks like it was intended to be a huge payoff for hindering your deck with the highlander restrictions. When I lose to a true highlander deck with him, it's understandable.
It sucks ass, though, to lose to a deck that is not highlander, but gets to use him as a reward for burning through their deck with play after punishing play (I'm looking at you, druids). Divine Favor got sent to the HOF primarily because the devs didn't want an aggressive play style to also be rewarded with such an amazing draw. Zeph currently rewards all deck types, but was only intended to reward highlanders.
I agree with the above suggestion that the 1-of card restriction to activate him be in place before the game begins.
If you truly hate one card THAT bad, then play a deck that counters it. Bad luck albatross priest will solve this issue right away. This game is rock paper scissors. Hate scissors so much? Buy a box of rocks.
Mage can get 0 mana pyro blast and your worried about zeph lmao shaman can invoke fast than most decks and ur worried about zephyr . This thread should be shut down 🔒.
Zephrys is typically a card for the target audience. The Fantardians. If you don't know how to win, if skill is not your primary reason to rank up, you can always play Zeph.
Toast to a new year of fresh mindlessnesses.

First of all saying no skill needing is just people say to have a excuse they lack of skill (i admit i say always deck like facehunter is braindead but yeah my skill in aggro decks is bad)
I guess everyone's New Year's Resolution is to make a stupid thread about some card they lost to. We got this one, the one on Open the Waygate in Wild, and the one on Sathovarr/Shirvalah. Three utter waste of digital bits.
Mods, can't these idiotic threads be condensed. Like to the Salt thread?

I'm saying all of this as someone who owns him.
There are bigger problem than zephyrs right now

Zephrys is fine as it is right now, there are more bs cards.

You can't stop the signal.
If he’s in my deck normally I hold him until I need hand space or until I need a get out of jail free card because I’m getting my arse whipped.

Ninjas play Fortnite, Uberninjas play Hearthstone.

zephrys is fine imo.
i hate Convincing Infiltrator aka 5 mana Obsidian Statue. doesn't mean they should do something about the card. well....maybe, but, whatever.
just play albatross or bomb decks. hearthstone really is just rock paper scissors.
Zephyrys is ok as it is.
